Just recently got an Incredible. Using the HTC extended battery (2150 mAh) and I'm still only seeing ~14 hours of battery life. Also currently using CM7.
What is everyone else seeing?
I'm using the Redemtion Rom 2.2 with Incredikernel 12/21, and with the stock battery I can easily get over 20+ hours out of it. I'm also always on my phone. What kernel are you running? That might be your problem.
I'm using an 1800 battery and regularly kill my battery in half that time. I'm actually happy if I get 7 hours out of it. Since you have the 2150 battery pick up a wall charger for the stock battery and carry that on you too.

I'm running SkyRaider Athena 1.2 with Lou's #9, and I get around 20 hours. Pretty standard usage, nothing crazy.
Miui with invisiblek #28 or whatever cyan nightly on stock kernel. 30 hours +/- isn't a problem. Stock battery.

I am seeing about 18hrs.
Running seidio 3500. Moderate to very heavy use i see around 16 hours. With little use to moderate a full day and a half to two days. Running incredibly re-engineered with ziggy's 012111 bfs kernel ocing to 1.036. How you people are getting 20+ hours on the stock battery is beyond me.

I'm with you on this. Although I send around 1000 texts a day use the phone probably an hour tops and use the internet a good bit. I call this average usage some call it insane so maybe some peoples average usage is barely talking it.

Well,
I was on the stock 2.2 OTA and I was doing ok. it was better than 1.1.
However I've recently been running 2.3 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865331) and my battery life has improved a little bit.
I'm running virtuous 3.2 and usually after a the day I usually get home with about 60% with pretty light usage.
someone's addicted to/spends too much time texting

With very light usage (listening to audible books via audible.com app for about 6-8hrs, 5-10mins of phone calls, limited internet) with the 2150 battery and Lou's #4 kernel I got 52hrs from charger to 14%. That is definitely not the norm, but I thought it was pretty cool =p.
Normal moderate to heavy usage I get 24ish hours from charger to 10-15%.
Na up where I live everyone gets the $5 or $10 Verizon o ly prepaid texting plan. So that's the only way we talk.

Uh 1000 texts a day. Lets say you get 5 hours of sleep. That's 19 waking hours. Thats like one text message sent every minute for 19 hours. Not to mention received. i hope you're exaggerating hahah
I use mine kind of heavily with texting maybe a couple hundred total per day. 2-3 hours screen on total, maybe 15 minutes of talk time. I get 19 hours according to Battery Left. Running CM7
I'm averaging. Quite honestly there are many times where I don't get a break to actually put my phone down for like an hour or so at a time. But I judge the thousand a day based on me resetting my handcent set counter and two weeks later iI was at just over 15000 sent.

Sure, I am playing around with CM 7 nightlies at the moment, but I'll switch back to my old set up and see if I cant get a ss of a number close to that for you.
As I said though, it was very light usage for a few days.
I was running CM6 with invisiblek #18 and getting over 18 hours on the stock battery with pretty consistent use
Using SR 3.5 rom and chad's latest incredikernel.
With mostly having the screen off (no more than 45 min on) it lasted 48+ hours with 22% to spare - note that is not my normal usage, just a test.
Normal usage for me is:
Solid 5-6+ hours of screen on, and it'll last a good 23 hours (as of last night, long day lol) -- Most of the time after a full day I'll plug it in with 40%+ left.
Daily usage also includes
- 45mins of GPS usage
- 2-4 hours of Pandora streaming
- ~50 txts
- ~20 minutes of phone calls
- Youtube for ~45 mins
- E-mail / web ~ an hour
- 20 minute of games
I practically live on my phone but usually make it to the end of the day with 40+% left, depending on the day may be less- but I've never gotten the notification since the Kernel and ROM change.
Overclocking above the standard 998 will drain your battery pretty quickly, more than most other things you're doing. I noticed this and also noticed that overclocking didn't do much for me because 998 was smooth for every game I was playing.
Using HTC extended battery also and I do not bump charge, see:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=871051
I just find that hard to believe. If i stream pandora for an hour with a full charge it will drain my battery down about 20% thats using lou's #8 kernel and his redemption 2.3 rom. Thats with a 3500 seidio battery after a wall charge not a plugged in charge.
Not doubting you one bit but damn thats alot of tasking on a stock extended battery too end the day with 40% left.

Good for you .... But it depends on phone set up, what apps you are using, brightness level and so many other factors.
I get around 12 to 14 hrs with moderate to heavy use. I have around 5 email accounts to sync, 2 to 3 hrs of web browsing, 1 hr of a2dp music. I'm pretty happy with it, others may get different times based on usage and set up.

Hmm.. that's still a pretty high screen usage no?

I don't believe his screen was on for 11 hours, and its a percentage of the battery, not a percentage of time, lol
This in fact concludes his screen was practically not on at all, plus he was probably using 2g as well. Using 2g only extends battery life tremendously

I think we need a dedicated battery section under this forum to stop all the clutter of pretty useless threads which have no bearing on real life usage.
Totally agree it's how long the screen is on for which to me is REAL usage.

I see the battery time in the About Phone > Battery Usage. Where is the screen on time?
Edit: NM. Just clicked on Display. My battery is at 37% after being on battery usage 12 hours and screen on for 2 hours. I have some Messaging apps open in the background that take up less than 5%. Only 7 min of calling all day and probably about 15 minutes gaming. The rest was texting and web browsing. Is that pretty good for battery time on the GS II?

Anyone can get tis duration by transfering to 2g only, using the phone only when needed on zero brightness, and underclock to 800mhz, hell you could even get this at stock 1.2...

I posted this here before, my screen-on test - it is very misleading though, but not as misleading as 5 day runtime on one charge without providing facts about what was done in those 5 days
Unless we discuss the maximum theoretic battery time, there is no point compare normal use because as already said it all comes how you use your phone.

hows the battery life on the HTC EVO 4G with bluetooth, gps, wifi, email alerts and notifications all turned off?
I find the battery life to be right on par with other Android smart phones, and I always have mobile data/notifications on. Wifi seems to increase battery life.
Its pathetic in my book compared to my previous htc phones. About 3 to 4 hours use and its dead. Pathetic.
pretty crappy. don't buy in to all these ppl saying "it lasts me 2 days etc etc" either cuz they don't actually use their phones
I have a stock 2.3.3. Yesterday, after 9 hours on battery with minimal usage (a few games of pew pew) I was about 30%. Today I used it a little more and was about 60% before lunch. Depends on your usage.
It's aiite. I get 1 day and 2 hours on my fone with moderate usage... Depends what rom and kernal your using.
If you have 4g on all day and are constantly playing games prolly 5 hours. If you use it as a phone and not an xbox then you can get a full day out of it easy. My brother leaves 3g on all day and plays a few games and still has 10% after 15 hours...

Honestly, it's terrible. There are steps you can take, however, that can get it "average" or "acceptable".
And like someone above said, don't listen to all these people saying they get 2+ days out of their phones.... they either
a) have an extended battery
b) use their phone light~moderate usage

using a Sense ROM and chatting on my phone all day using talk, streaming music, and checking email on 3 accts, I get an entire workday and then some out of my phone. I take my phone off the charger at 7am and don't put it on again until after 10pm. At that point I still have about 20-30% left.
I keep GPS and BT off unless I am using it, the Always On Mobile Data is disabled, and I use WiFi at home and work.
As some people stated, it depends on usage.
I asked the same question the other day..60 views no replies...because everyone was raving about the awesome battery life on Kingdom_signed_062311_194639.zip but I get under 4 hrs because my screen is on alot playing the "word" game. Seems thats about right for heavy use.
My phone has been unplugged for 10hrs now and I'm at 32%, I mostly talk between 2 to 3hrs a day, check emails, facebook, play games through out the day, text, but I keep everything off til I want to use it except data is on all the time, I keep all updates turned off I do updates as I choose, I'm happy with it plus I keep a fully charged battery with me anyway

You people need a lesson on reading comprehension. No where in my post did I say that I don't like the Evo... So why would I get another phone?
I said that the battery life sucks, which it does. Especially if your phone isn't rooted.
Also, I feel bad for you: only 15 hours with an extended battery!? LOL that's terrible. I use a Sense ROM (Fresh3.5) with netarchy-more-havs (don't know the version number) and I get at least 20 hours with moderate~heavy usage, on the stock battery.
When I'm using MIUI with Tiamat & ViperBoy's undervolt scripts, I get over 24 hours with moderate~heavy usage. I have no doubt that if I had an extended battery, I could get 2+ days.
P.S.
I will be getting another phone. Preferably the iPhone when (if?) it drops on sprint, or a mango windows phone 7 device. If neither of those happen, galaxy s II it is...
It's terrible. Heavy usage I get 2 maybe 2 and a half hours. If you don't use it much, the standby time should be enough to get you through the day. I remember streaming the world cup on Sprint Espn and it barely made it past one 2 hour game before it became totally dead. Don't know how some say they get 5 plus hours on 4g running under heavy usage. I think their idea of heavy usage is much different than mine.
I'm on kinged kingdom nightlys sense 3.0..I get 10+ hrs with heavy use!! Calkulins Undervolt script..ROM is insane fast, with moderate use I avg 1day 9-11hrs..haven't hit two day mark with moderate use thou..working on it. STOCK battery! Make sure ur SD card is partitioned correctly. Optimize your RAM..the smoother and more stable the ROM,the better battery life, cuz your phone won't be struggling to function properly!!

I have always said this phone has really good battery life, and for me it does.
right now my battery is on 32% and from the last charge past 1d 8h 12m with medium use
I had 3-4 days with stock 2.1 with my typical light usage. Now with stock 2.3.3 this increased to 5-6 days.
(few calls per day, no games, no music, 3G almost always disabled)
Compared with latest 2.1 with bb 67 on stock 2.3.3 battery life is worse. 1 day with heavy usage, and 2 days with light usage - 2g connected constantly.
I suggest everybody post screenshots and what rom you are using.

There's a theory.....and i personally tested it and it works....
if you wanna get a great battery you must charge it at the percent of 20 or 15.....and it lasts a 2 days...
and i charged it at 0%..it keep about 4 hours charging...and it doesnt last a day....
im not very sure.....test it guys and see it if it works and tell me the results.....
dont forget about the THANKS botton.....
these threads are pointless imo...
everyone's usage is different, and you always get people saying "oh my phone lasts 3 weeks on a single change".... Pfft sure it does
There is no point in really comparing, yes you can get great battery life if you don't use your phone but what does that prove?

So what?
I'm giving my opinion on the topic of battery life comparisons in general, it was not any way offensive to you.
I'm simply stating that unless there is a way to objectively measure that the usage was the same, what does "this many hours" actually really mean?
Plus everyone's ideas of "moderate","heavy", etc... are completely different.

what apps have you used in this 2+ day period?? games? streaming video? web-browsing? These are the most common uses and they are also the biggest battery killers. I'm sure if I had my phone in airplane mode & barely used it at all I could get better battery life than that. Please give us more details on the specific apps, etc. you ran in this period (to the best of your memory, of course )

Please give us more details on the specific apps, etc. you ran in this period (to the best of your memory, of course )

Hmm probably only an hours worth of "apparatus" - game, good couple of hours on google reader, facebook etc. no more than an hour on the phone.
my "normal" usage really; not trying to be overly conservative, but also not constantly on. certainly nothing to suggest that I'm getting any worse battery life than I did on 2.3.x
Next time you get this kind of usage from a full charge down to zero let us know your screen on time please.

Battery life stats don't mean much if you don't really use the phone for those 2 days. I'm at 16hours with 66percent left.

Here's mine. A day and half. Similar battery performance with GB even though that Android OS is way too high (higher than Screen)
Yes; that Android OS' looks like a statistic and therefore has a 87.8% chance of being made up on the spot (like that one!).
This is a sample of my battery life and quite unusual for me; Mobile Standby is the highest because I spent five or so hours in an area with very poor coverage, when it could get a signal it was 2G.
Wifi is on when I know I have a hotspot I can use. AutoSync off unless I need it. Bluetooth wasn't used. Screen brightness mostly at the minimum with some time at Auto. Latitude constantly running in automatic update.
Screen on time was 2 hours, 30 minutes and that included approximately 20 minutes of Google Maps (not Navigation).
The biggest difference I've made on my device is to log out of Google+. My use is mostly checking two Gmail accounts, browsing the web, using DropBox / Documents-to-Go, texting, some photography.
Disabling Latitude's AutoUpdate stops the device from waking up with the screen off (all those little blue ticks on the use bar) and makes a big difference to battery life when I'm on the move.
How can you guys take screenshot on stock?
Hold down power and vol. down simultaneously for a second or two for a screenshot.
Also, nice battery life. I've been running about a day with ~50% left, 2 hours of screen time and somewhere around 30 - 45mins gaming. WiFi on all day and calls/texting was minimal.
Have a look https://plus.google.com/u/0/105051985738280261832/posts/FV3LVtdVxPT More insight regarding Android OS from google engineer.
I am running stock 4.0.3 ICS and battery lasts only 10-11 hours.(Data Disabled, Occasional Wifi Use, Brightness reduced to minimum.).
