How Is the Battery Life on HTC EVO 4G? - EVO 4G General

hows the battery life on the HTC EVO 4G with bluetooth, gps, wifi, email alerts and notifications all turned off?

I find the battery life to be right on par with other Android smart phones, and I always have mobile data/notifications on. Wifi seems to increase battery life.

Its pathetic in my book compared to my previous htc phones. About 3 to 4 hours use and its dead. Pathetic.

pretty crappy. don't buy in to all these ppl saying "it lasts me 2 days etc etc" either cuz they don't actually use their phones

I have a stock 2.3.3. Yesterday, after 9 hours on battery with minimal usage (a few games of pew pew) I was about 30%. Today I used it a little more and was about 60% before lunch. Depends on your usage.

It's aiite. I get 1 day and 2 hours on my fone with moderate usage... Depends what rom and kernal your using.

If you have 4g on all day and are constantly playing games prolly 5 hours. If you use it as a phone and not an xbox then you can get a full day out of it easy. My brother leaves 3g on all day and plays a few games and still has 10% after 15 hours...

like others have said...depends...
i always have all 4g or 3g on, gps, wifi, bt, and screen high brightness...
i get a few hours, but for ME that's fine, as i'm always plugged in.
if i remember to dump bt and 4g when im at home, i'll maybe get a little more.
went to nyc to walk around last week...it was dead by noon, which was an inconvenience since i couldnt charge...

O
Honestly, it's terrible. There are steps you can take, however, that can get it "average" or "acceptable".
And like someone above said, don't listen to all these people saying they get 2+ days out of their phones.... they either
a) have an extended battery
b) use their phone light~moderate usage

using a Sense ROM and chatting on my phone all day using talk, streaming music, and checking email on 3 accts, I get an entire workday and then some out of my phone. I take my phone off the charger at 7am and don't put it on again until after 10pm. At that point I still have about 20-30% left.
I keep GPS and BT off unless I am using it, the Always On Mobile Data is disabled, and I use WiFi at home and work.
As some people stated, it depends on usage.

I asked the same question the other day..60 views no replies...because everyone was raving about the awesome battery life on Kingdom_signed_062311_194639.zip but I get under 4 hrs because my screen is on alot playing the "word" game. Seems thats about right for heavy use.

My phone has been unplugged for 10hrs now and I'm at 32%, I mostly talk between 2 to 3hrs a day, check emails, facebook, play games through out the day, text, but I keep everything off til I want to use it except data is on all the time, I keep all updates turned off I do updates as I choose, I'm happy with it plus I keep a fully charged battery with me anyway

You people need a lesson on reading comprehension. No where in my post did I say that I don't like the Evo... So why would I get another phone?
I said that the battery life sucks, which it does. Especially if your phone isn't rooted.
Also, I feel bad for you: only 15 hours with an extended battery!? LOL that's terrible. I use a Sense ROM (Fresh3.5) with netarchy-more-havs (don't know the version number) and I get at least 20 hours with moderate~heavy usage, on the stock battery.
When I'm using MIUI with Tiamat & ViperBoy's undervolt scripts, I get over 24 hours with moderate~heavy usage. I have no doubt that if I had an extended battery, I could get 2+ days.
P.S.
I will be getting another phone. Preferably the iPhone when (if?) it drops on sprint, or a mango windows phone 7 device. If neither of those happen, galaxy s II it is...

It's terrible. Heavy usage I get 2 maybe 2 and a half hours. If you don't use it much, the standby time should be enough to get you through the day. I remember streaming the world cup on Sprint Espn and it barely made it past one 2 hour game before it became totally dead. Don't know how some say they get 5 plus hours on 4g running under heavy usage. I think their idea of heavy usage is much different than mine.

I'm on kinged kingdom nightlys sense 3.0..I get 10+ hrs with heavy use!! Calkulins Undervolt script..ROM is insane fast, with moderate use I avg 1day 9-11hrs..haven't hit two day mark with moderate use thou..working on it. STOCK battery! Make sure ur SD card is partitioned correctly. Optimize your RAM..the smoother and more stable the ROM,the better battery life, cuz your phone won't be struggling to function properly!!

Insane Battery Life

My battery test is being cut a little short, I need my phone charged for later tonight and I'm not 100% sure it will make it through the day. Here are my results so far though.
2d 5h 23m since unplugged, 12% battery remaining. Yes that is over 53 hours of moderate usage.
Incase you are wondering what im running here its not all that complicated, I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of you getting similar life.
Fresh 1.0.1 with ffolkes kernel and setcpu set to 245 max when screen is off combined with the newest radio does the trick. Anyone able to push this thing past 3 days with moderate usage have anymore tips? I think mine would have made it over 3 days if I didnt play about an hour a day of 3d games.
Also, thinking of switching to netarchy-toastmod kernel, anyone having similar life with that kernel? Wouldn't expect it to be anything different as its mostly the underclocking saving battery.
*EDIT*
Radio - http://geekfor.me/evo/radio/radio205000610/
WiMax Update - http://geekfor.me/evo/radio/wimax-25641/
fresh 1.0.1 - http://geekfor.me/new-release/fresh-evo-101/
ffolkes kernel - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=711964
*Second EDIT*
My daily usage
30 emails
250 sms
10 calls, 60 minutes (most 3 minutes or less)
1 hour 3d gaming
auto-brightness
15 minutes web browsing
1 hour showing off the phone/someone playing with it
only use gps or music when charging in a car, which i didn't for these three days.
also, live in chicago, really well mapped for coverage, i never roam. also, rarely use 4g i have a usb modem too so no need for tethering.

Define moderate use?
Surfing the web for 3 hours a day, checking email 10 times a day, Searching the market and playing games for an hour a day?
I don't know what you mean by moderate usage When I'm browsing the web for half an hour, I can literally watch the battery drain.... and when I check usage, it's always display (mostly) and voice calls. I see neither on yours. Did you even use the phone during those 2 days?

Anyway I unrooted for the OTA just once and I got 44 hours of light texting/browsing on wifi, 50% brightness.
I want to see baked snack / toasted users... they should be getting the best battery.

Pretty much nothing. Unplug phone, go to work, carry it in my pocket and check time occasionally. Browse internet for half hour at break. Carry it in my pocket and check time occasionally. Browse internet for half hour at second break. Carry it in my pocket and check time occasionally. 8.5 hours since unplugged, <15% battery remaining.
Problem is about 0 bars service at work. Constantly switching from Sprint to Roaming.
55 hours of battery. I get 34 hours of battery with constant texting, web surfing and downloading. I'm running cm6 2.2

I'm sorry, but it's just not possible to get those kind of runtimes if you really use the tool. Try using this thing the way it was intended, not just as some kind of a toy just to see what kind of life you can get out of a charge.
I'm on the phone, got bluetooth going, wifi, ... all day long. Average 75 incoming emails, maybe the same texts, several photos for documentation, about the same or more reply's to emails, couple of hours on the phone, .... lucky to make it to 5pm.
No way anyone can convince me that they can go even 24 hrs with my use. No way.

WiFi can actually save even more battery if you are in the same location long enough, but I have no need to keep bluetooth on at all times. Updating first post with more info on my usage, probably less than yours but still use a lot.
running the phone with these settings pretty much makes it impossible for it to die on a day's use, even for really heavy users. to kill it you're gonna have to run wifi tether, gps, or 4g for a while. i never use gps unless its plugged in, and i rarely use 4g.
im gonna try it with the netarchy and let u knw at the end of 2morow
oh yea wat r your auto syncs?

I'm having great battery life

Hey guys I got my EVO in the mail on Thursday, and do I love the thing! I have been reading about battery life and was a little concerned at first, but that was then. Last night I unplugged my phone at 7pm and it had a 95% charge. I played with it a bit and texted until around 12am. I did not charge it and started texting and using it for a while this morning around 10am. It is now 4pm and I have 49% battery. If this is what everyone is complaining about, im happy with it haha.
Basically, it's people leaving 4G / Wifi / Bluetooth / GPS all on at the same time that kills the battery life of the Evo. My launch-day Evo has routinely done 20+ hours of usage with no problems.
The only times I've ever seen a marked decrease in battery performance, I could find that some app was hung up in the background draining the juice.
Rooted or just stock non root?

Come back after you try using data for an extended time (texts don't need data connections most of the time), having your mail sync for even every 3 hours or so and facebook, news, weather or any other auto sync feature enabled. Watch your battery die as quick as a witch under water.
My email syncs every 10 minutes, and my weather syncs as soon as it can. (not sure how many minutes). My facebook updates pretty often. And I have news updating as well.
My phone is also NOT rooted.
I get fine battery life, with WiFi connected I get much better standby than when using mobile data. Turn mobile data off when I'm out and about and the battery basically doesn't move. But I still can get 20 hours of use if I'm not on my phone constantly. I only turn off mobile data if I think I need my phone to last more than a day. Like camping or something. I have gmail pushed and weather and all that good stuff synced every hour. Been playing with juice defender which does increase battery life pretty good but you can get the same effect by toggling your mobile data with the widget. Juice defender does turn on data every 15 mins for a minute to sync which is nice but it causes a little lag when you unlock your screen because it turns on data as soon as you unlock, a little annoying.

I highly doubt this is possible especially on the stock battey. I personally know there is no way to have all those apps syncing at those frequencies on the stock battery and still get MORE than 9 hours of use. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=783364
Unless you turned off your phone somewhere in that timeline and are not telling that bit of info. With the sync frequency you just gave, I seriously doubt your battery numbers are even the correct ones you're giving.

According to that, it says your phone has been powered on for 48 minutes and used for 15 minutes. Go back and check the link I gave in my first response and look at the screenshot most people would want to see.
EDIT: Saw your edit and your phone has been in standby most of the time. I personally am not impressed by standby times. But if that's what floats your boat then so be it. I personally have gotten 10 hours of CONSTANT use on the stock battery with apps syncing every hour and get 1.5 days normal use on my extended batteries.

I know that people talk about losing the first 10% in like 10 minutes, but has anyone ever noticed how long it takes to lose the last 10% of the battery? That sht is frustrating, going from 90 to 70 for me takes only about an hour, but the last 10% for me can carry me another 3 hours or so. My battery is teasing me.

[Q] Absolute Best battery?

What rom (stock sense look) has the best battery overall. I rooted my moms evo to get her a great battery life but it still seems to be dying really quickly. I am using 4.3.1 kernel. She's only getting around 6-10 hours of battery before she has to charge it. I had the evo before and could get a full day and a half before charging it. I can't remember my setup since I switched to the evo shift. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
im using the cm7 rc 2 whatever kernal is package there is PHENOMINAL im at 60% @ about 12hr..... Moderate use between wifi and 3g

That's the best you're gonna get with NORMAL usage and a REGULAR battery. All those users that say they get like a day or two are full of it. They get that long because their phones are sleeping most the time. I've used EVERY rom/kernel combo out there and the best I ever got was about 15 hours. I literally use my phone all day while at work from browsing, texting, calls, facebook ,twitter, and games. There should be a definition for moderate. I consider myself a heavy user; unplug at 7am and my phone last until about 6pm with about 20% left. Its not going get any better than that for a moderate to heavy user. From sense to aosp with the stock battery I just never achieved better results but I'm pretty happy since I get to work at 8am and get off at 5, buy 7pm its nearly dead and I just plug it up. You should invest in an extended battery imo.

I agree to a point. I mean, it all depends on usage. I can believe someone with light-moderate use can easily get a full day with the right setup. I do it now with CM/Savage, but I'm definitely not a heavy user.
I do see some people make wild claims of 2-4 days without a charge.. and I think it's possible IF you don't use your phone or you turn everything that makes it a smartphone off. Which is pointless IMO.
Nobody can really give you the perfect setup because every EVO seems to behave differently. We can only make suggestions. Make sure your mom s awareof all the things that can drain battery (push notification, updating widgets, weather updates etc etc). I would then research a good sense rom/kernel because CM7 is a definite WIP with different issues for different users, it may turn her off.
Maybe check out MikFroyo or Myns rom. I hear a lot about how good they are.

+1, its just crazy I see people throwing crazy hours out there lol. I think if your phone is sleeping 75% if the time then you shouldn't even talk about your results since that doesn't fit into the norm for usage. I don't know about not being able to get more than a day of battery life and use your phone. Using MIUI with a Savaged-Zen kernel I was able to go almost 2 days without even plugging it in once (I'm specifying this, because I've seen screenshots where people claim crazy battery life, but the graph clearly shows that the phone was plugged in and charging several times throughout that time period), and my display usage was still 44% of my battery. That was still minimal usage for me. I posted the screenshot in the MIUI thread if you care enough to check.
I do mostly agree, though. Most people posting outrageous battery life have display percentages around 5-10%, clearly never removing the phone from their pockets.
Anyway, as for the OP, the biggest missing variable is that we don't know at what percent your mom considers it necessary to charge her phone. If she plugs it in around 50% to be sure she can make it through the day, that means she could have gotten another 5-8 hours of battery life (assuming she's not draining it down to 0%). This fact could make the difference between bad battery life and a paranoid mother.
Try the ava froyo z3 I love it best rom I've used so far so guess I'm sticking with it o and get her juice defender with ultimate juice and lock it down so it kills anything she's not using

I have the Sprint 2600 extended battery and it isn't as bulky as you would think. I actually think it is less bulky than my 1500 with a case on it. I don't notice it at all and I carry it in my front jeans pocket.

This is exactly the kind of post he was ranting about, dude. Unless you post your screen on time, usage time, up time, etc, then your 24 hours or whatever is a completely meaningless number. Completely. Meaningless.

Also display did not use 44 pct of your battery. It was responsible for 44 pct of your battery drain. Big diff.

I agree with most of you people. Initially went to FreshEvo by Flipz when I rooted and battery life did not change much from when I was running stock. I have since switched to CM7 and battery life is significantly improved. Now getting 12 hours on a single charge with moderate use. I always turn 4G and wifi antenna off when not performing any data-intensive use. But I refuse to kill my 3G data connection when my phone is in my bag or desk while at work. Reality is that it IS a smart phone and killing the data to save battery life defeats the smart phone bit, no email no Facebook syncing no MMS etc. The only time I kill 3G is when I am in the mountains skiing.
My problem is that I work a 12 hour shift so 12 hours of bat life is not ideal. I have invested in an extra charger but would obviously be happy to not use this. I have heard lots of testimony that the savaged Zen kernals show some promise in improving bat life. When CM7 final drops I plan on flashing one of these kernals with the new ROM on wipe. I will stay away from the SBC version though for fear of improving battery charging but having my phone melt down or pop on the night stand next to me while I sleep... or worse in my pocket!
I will report back if I get any significant results.

evo dislikes?

battery life.... that's really about it. htc really dropped the ball when it came to that. i have never been able to achieve decent battery life, even on custom kernels.
what about you guys?
I have no issues whatsoever. I get about 12-16 hours on a stock rooted EVO. I also have an extra Hero battery that I can pop in my back pocket if need be.
Simply love this phone
really, bad battery life, because i use Vaelpak with netarchy 4.2.2cfs havs less and i get a fulll day with normal to a little heavy usage, and on light days y get like 30 hours, by light i mean checking my email 3 times a day, facebook also 3 times a day a few minutes worth of call and couple dozen texts, also a few online searches on sports schedules and so. so i dont know how some people still say battery sucks. any how my dislike is probably my evo doesnt have my coffee ready when it wakes me up

most of us have no idea how some of you achieve the 30+ hr battery life. even with a 2000mAh battery & sbc i get no where near that.
couldn't really point it out, you know with this my final set up i wiped, installed rom, booted, wiped, erased battery stats, flash kernel, boot, set cpu profiles, turn mobile data always on to off used the 3g tweak where you go into ##3282# and changed the last prl to 0 and 0.0.0.0, turn my screen brightness down use launcher pro, and after doing all this i let my phone discharge till it hit 15% and charged to full did this the next 3 charge cycles, and after testing it for a week i realized that if i didnt use my phone it would only drop 1% every 2 hours and when i was using it it would drop about 1% every 5 minutes

Well, that's because most of us don't use the Evo to play 3D games that push the GPU to the limit, watch Sportscenter using the Slingplayer while you're at work, constantly flash different things just to see what they do or it looks like, HDMI mirroring, etc. If all I did was check my emails a few times a day and send out a few texts, my phone would last 30 hours, too. During off peak hours that my phone isn't constantly syncing and I'm asleep, it will go down from 100% to maybe 92% overnight. The thing is, I never put it down during the day so I (and people like me) have to keep it on the charger at all times or keep extra batteries. I do both. lol
Asides from that, my only complaints include the annoying pop-up window that comes up with the OEM verison of Swype. I also wish that Sense had landscape support for the home screen and that the camera wouldn't take 5 seconds to focus and shoot. But the pros greatly outweight the cons IMO.
Yes on stock battery with juice defender and sbc i get 15-16 hours with normal use.. less if I play a game or 2. Really have nothing bad to say about the evo
from my phone duh
To be honest, I've had sooo many phones and id have to say the evo is hands down my favorite phone ever. I will say its hard to say what I dislike because this phone literally does EVERYTHING. I don't expect battery life to be amazing given it has a 4" screen but if I had to choose id say the power/volume buttons. HTC could have done a better job on the quality; being a rom flasher tears these buttons a new one.

I don't believe these claims for 1 minute..... with your heavy or "Light" usage.
Checking email 3 times a day, it's a smartphone(should be able to check emails when you want), should be able to check facebook when you want. To make calls when you want and not worry about your phone being dead in 4 hours.
The EVO is still my favorite phone to date, I buy a new smartphone every 12 months when allowed...
I have so many different roms/kernels and give them a few days to settle down. I have try the battery conditioning tips, etc..... There is no way, unless your barely using your smartphone that ANYONE get's that good of battery.
I sync my emails every 2 hours, facebook every 2 hours, have weatherbug synced, tweetcaster(twitter) 15 minutes and my 2 games of wordsmith and wordfeud.
I did a test last night, charged my phone to 100%, turned wifi on and set my phone on my night stand all 11pm. I woke up at 9am and my batter way down to 24%. I had many missed notifications, text, emails, game moves, etc..... That much of a drain with wifi on and on standby is crazy!
I will be getting the nexus 4g and then the EVO 3D, I hope one of those phones batteries will be improved than the EVO 4G.

Believe it. I can get about 40 hours on my phone with light usage. 20-30 texts a day, 2-3 times checking facebook, and a few emails sent and received all day. I can get this with Myn's 2.2 rom, and with using Setcpu to gradually scale the cpu down as the battery goes down.
ANd I probably could go 48 hours if I was on wifi and not 3g.

I agree at first that battery life was less then spectacular. But after rooting and using custom Roms as well as setcpu my battery life is very good. I would consider myself a moderate user (50 -60 emails, 40-50 texts, 20-30 calls, some internet searches etc) and my battery after unplugging at 7am and getting home at 6pm is still 50-60%.
I have to say that I am disappointed with the camera, low light shots/making videos isn't as good as some of the other phones out there. I was looking forward to the camera when I got the device, and it took such good pictures in the store - it hasn't been that horrible using it or anything, I have gotten some good pics and all, but these days I usually have to take 5 pictures to get one good shot.
I can't stand the ****ty speakerphone. I use it every day while driving and I have to lay the phone on my chest to hear the person. If the Evo 3Ds speakerphone is this ****ty they better toss in a bra with the phone purchase.

love the phone, but I've had it replaced twice (thanks insurance) for build quality issues, light leak, screen splotches, cracked buttons, etc.
Battery life has been horrible since day 1 (bought on release date), but 2 spare batteries gets me through the day.
The cameras are great, but the FFC sucks without bright lighting, and the rear cam is great until it's pitch black out. Also for video it's not the best.
Kickstand is awesome but unstable at times
it wasn't free? lol I don't know what else to say it's my favorite phone I've ever owned so far!

You battery should have been above 90%, and you shouldn't have missed any notifications.
Your phone is obviously defective.
i wish this screen would show detailed, but my phone only shows system as a whole, haven't looked for a more detailed way, don't really need it as dont need to prove my battery stats to none
I can't really say that the battery is an issue with mine. I almost never use wifi, have gps on all the time. Sync twitter, weather and gmail, and play at least 2 Wordwise games a day. I take the phone off of the charger at about 8:00 AM and it lasts until I put it back on around 12:00 PM. If I play two or three hours of games it won't make it that long, but neither will any other smartphone that I have used.
My only disappointments with this phone are, the mediocre camera, the lack of internal memory, and Sprints crappy data speeds. I have had mine since launch day and have only replaced one speaker that went bad, other than that it has worked flawlessly.
CAMERA SUCKS. 5mp iPhone camera mops the floor with the POS camera on the Evo. Evo is still a better phone, but my god, the camera blows.
My complaints are that HTC doesn't like us very much anymore and that hardware isn't user upgradeable lol. The first one doesn't matter since we have xda, and the second industry is just unrealistic lol. But my battery life is normal, get about 9 hours per battery which is fine since I have 2.

Terrible battery life on my Sprint Nexus :(

If you just bought it yesterday..... then give some time to calibrate thr battery! Just keep using it and let the battery reach normal. Most new batteries require 3-4 charges to start running fine. Give it a few days

+ 1 the battery needs a few cycles to break in. Also, are you rooted are you running a custom room or kernel these things can have an affect on your battery also.
No I'm not rooted or have a custom kernel. I'm running stock.

Strange, I get a day and a half of heavy use with the brightness maxed and running a live wall paper. I thought my Xperia Arc had great battery life but the Nexus S is insane!
OP are you using task killers? Don't. It takes up more battery for your Nexus S to re-start those apps than it does to manage them on its own.
It took my battery like a week to act right. Give it time

a day and a half?? howd you pull that off? im usually charging about 10-14 hours thorough heavy use.
agree with everyone else, give it a few days.
I used some advice i found the said kill battery, charge full, kill battery, charge full, kill, charge, then use it. Charge it while it is off during that time.
First couple of charges, the battery would die after about 5-6 hours of constant "messing around" with the phone. Now it seems like it'll last a good time.
Im completely stock as well.

I dont know. I don't really game on it so maybe thats it, but I am surfing the web constantly. When I go out I turn wifi off...thats about it. Oh and the only widget I am running is a clock and the weather for the clock is set to refresh every 3 hours "simi clock" is what its called.
Thats about it, I dont know what else to say. I came from an Xperia x10, Samsung Captivate, Xperia Arc, and now the Nexus S and its MILES better...so much so that I have decided that I will only ever own a "Nexus" line of Android.

Like everyone else said you really need to give it some time to break in.
My first day with the Nexus the battery was dying as I left work (roughly 9 hours off the charger).
After owning the phone for about a month now it's changed dramatically.
It lasts well through the entire day, every day. Before I go to bed it's usually sitting around...
70-80% LIGHT use.
50% Moderate use
35-40% Heavy use. (Note: I don't play games, Heavy use to me is multiple short calls, many emails, many texts, IM)
I've never actually had the phone die on me.
I'm using CM7 (Latest Nightly) and the Netarchy CFS Kernel (default settings with the exception of VooDoo Color tweaks)
I don't use Juice Defender. Phone sits on 3G most of the day at the office, at home it sits on WiFi with the WiFi sleep policy set to never. (Wifi uses much less power then 3G, if you have WiFi, USE IT! and set sleep policy to never so WiFi stays on constantly instead of switching back to 3G when the phone is idle)
Do use a task manager but it didn't seem to make a huge difference.
Aside from letting your battery calibrate, you should try out juice defender. I know alot of people might scoff at a such an application but I've experienced over a two fold increase in battery life using said application. However I am running an undervolted netarchy 1.3.4 kernel with Oxygen, but said increase in battery life is with the same configuration.
Yeah it takes around a week to break in the battery. My battery life is pretty awesome. I usually charge it every other day now. It lasts a long time.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA App
Guys... battery break in isn't gonna change his usage from 4 hrs to 12 hrs. No battery break-in does that.
In all these cases I suggest looking at battery info in the OS itself to see if something kept the phone awake or whatever.
Sure heavy use in your first few days will always take a huge toll on battery. Calibration shouldn't totally throw off your battery life down to 4 hours either.
You guys who say heavy use, can you quantify that?
talk time per day?
texts per day?
roaming?
4g?
how many emails sent/received per day?
time on internet?
/shameless plug
try battery tweak in dev forums... i posted it in both of them

I'm in the same boat as you. Just got my Nexus S 4G on three days ago and the battery dies QUICKLY. The first day it died in 5 hours (with normal use and 4G off). By the time I unplug it and get to work, which is only a 20 minute drive, it's already down to 93%. I'm hoping everyone else is right in saying that the battery just has to be worked in a little.
I have 8 hours on battery right now with about 40% remaining in day 2 of my Nexus' usage. I made about 6 phone calls, sent out about 20 text messages, browsed the internet while waiting for a job interview and played Plants V Zombies when I was taking a dump.
I really only expect it to improve from here.
Out of curiousity, does anyone here have their "Use Wireless Networks" checked under the "Location and Security" settings (where it uses your 3G)? I have this enabled and I know this will drain my battery, but I wonder how much? The only app I have that updates my location while the screen is off is the stock News and Weather app (which only updates every 6 hours, a bug that automatically turns itself back on if you reset your phone). How much collection would Google do other than that?
Also, the other thing I have enabled is my Exchange set to push through the default Email app. However, this never really shows up on the battery usage app, so is push STILL killing the battery a lot through the stock app?
I'm just trying to see how people can get two days with 50% left after work (if just on 3G). On WIFI, MAYBE, but def not on 3G......
