Will this allow me to run untrusted apps on my exec ?
I have received a .cab file patch (self extract) to install it directly into the ppc device, but I am getting regularly the following message: Installation was unsuccessful, the program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permission. I have tried every possible solution on the web without success. Has anybody experienced such an issue? or is there a way to delete every possible security or protection key in the file.
Any help is highly appreciated, thanks
Can you upload the .cab?
Your problem is not with the cab. Your device is application locked so only cabs that are signed by a trusted certificate can alter system settings.
If you look in the WiKi or at least tell us what phone you have we might tell you how to unlock it so you can install your cab.
I have an eten M700 with WW6 onboard, and the file that I want to install is BT.CAB patch. Since the upgrade to WW6 every file issued by e-ten corp has to passe through security certificate check. Now I do believe that you are right about the fact that this the device is application locked .
So, how can I unlock this device to be able to install .cab files? Any help please, I need this file.
Thanks for help
Did you try installing this cap directly after a softreset? Could be that some process is running that should be used by the CAB. I had exactly the same message when I was trying to install a comm manger while the old comm manager was running.
Yes I did, I have tried every possible solutions such as Hard reset, Soft reset, installed without any soft running on the background. It is a strange issue, I' ve this file from eten corp support in order to help me with the upgrade of the MS BT stack. The ww6 that I have on board is legall with imei and a key code, Any other sollution such as hacking the .cab file? thanks for assistance
Hi!
I have an application that autostarts with my PDA, Revival Kiosk from The Institution. When I flashed my PDA (HTC 7500) with a new ROM (michys 6.1 SPL 1.2), this application wont autostart, stating a somewhat cryptic error ("Revival engine not registered").
I called the developers and asked them and was told that the new ROM I had applied to the PDA does - most likely - not contain the correct certificates and hence, the application is not allowed to start. Devices shipped from HTC does *not* have this issue, works fine with those.
This has nothing to do with the registrysetting regarding removing that irritating popup about executing unsigned applications, this is something different. This application is started as a service, and because of MS stupid security-model, the service is not allowed to start since there are certificates missing.
Please, does anyone have any idea at all where I should start looking? Have downloaded MS Power Toys Security Configuration Manager, but am not sure on what it is exactly that im looking for. Michelle, any idea?
I still get the error about "not digitally signed with a trusted certificate" on my T-Mobile US HTC HD2. I downgraded my SPL and added the hspl. After that I flashed to the cell series EVO rom. At first I can install anything, and then after a few hours I get the error. Maybe the hard reset, or even installing marketplace is messing with it. I've tried a signer program, but it didn't work. I've also installed the new certificates and still nothing. Sorry for creating a new thread, but please help!
Based on my ssl secured exchange direct push experiecne you will need to install the actual certificate for the cab/server and if it is not a class1 certificateyou will need to install the root (class 1) certificate for it. Because you weren't clear with the exact details of your problem i'm only speculating as to what the problem is. Although i have just thought that if this is related to installed apps on to the device try copying them to the SD card and installing them from the device itself.
I'm new to all of this. As clear as I can get it, this stupid phone won't let me install apps after a period of time. Right after I flash the rom it prompts me with a yes or no, but later it goes straight to refusing to allow me to install. Its like apple's 3.1.3 and I lost my jail break or something! It says they aren't digitally signed. As far as installing the stuff, I don't know how. Any direction?
still cant install
I've been thinking about this and i can't come up with a reason as to what might cause it. So questions.
1) are you trying to run the cab files from on pc or directly on the phone?
2) Is it a specific cab file that you are using to this with or do you use any random one.
3) if you try to install app via activesync (.net compact framework 3.5 for example) does it install?
TMOUS devices actually have their own special board (http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=631) it may be worth having a look there and asking. It may also been worth trying a different rom from the ones you have tried. The energy series of roms seems to be very popular and i'm trying it out for my first custom rom. No problems at all yet and it does work very well.
