Nope, it's a very plain ordering page. You select the phone, select your Google checkout payment method, select your address, click agree, then click submit.

Motorola Person called

A Motorola person called just a few minutes ago and told that my order would be canceled because of it not going through their system. My card got a pre-auth. The order status still hasn't changed but this is a total disappointment!

you should have asked if it was due to a bank issue and settled it before getting off the phone. Most of the time issues like this are due to bank issues, not merchant ones

I talked to a woman at corporate yesterday about a problem I was having (being charged for the gel case which was suppose to be free) they didn't mention anything to me about my order having a problem. That doesn't mean I'll get it though, still haven't received a tracking number.. says March 1 or March 2 delivery..

I was in the first batch of 25% coupon users...soon enough!

Either way, for those worried about not receiving a tracking number. I didn't receive one for a separate order I placed the next day for full price (it was only an accessory) but either way it says delivery on March 2 or March 3. No tracking # or shipping confirmation.

I meant when they called you to cancel it. I don't think you can do anything now, but you could try to call them back. The worst thing that could happen is that they say no.

Do you know the reason why was cancelled? Did they tell you why?

i called today to get the status of my order and was told they didn't have one yet and someone would call me back about it. not looking good!

If the Motorola rep person didn't specifically say that it was because of the coupon, it could have easily been a bank or credit card company issue that caused it.

that would be my guess as well since many people have reported getting theres already or have found their tracking number on fedex.com by looking it up via reference number.

I seriously doubt this was the case with mine. I had a card full of $ and It had a pre-auth as well. Anyhow, I called CS again and they said that the order specialists would call me within 4 hours to tell me the sttus of the order(I didnt mention about the motorola lady calling me). So apparently, Motorola CS guys have no clue if my order was canceled. Not sure what to think!

Same here. Just got the email notification and successfully ordered. Should have it next week.
Just got my TF this morning, too. Updated to the 5/1 firmware and it's running fine. Only one issue - the MicroSD card doesn't eject. I can feel the spring release when I push on it, but it doesn't pop out.

I'd get it replaced for sure man.
I still need to get my 32GB ordered. Hard to come by!

BTW, whatever happened to that $129.99 price tag from earlier?!
Hopefully I can price match it later.

Is the extended warranty from NewEgg worth it btw?!

as big a seller as Newegg is I'd imagine they'd get big shipments of hot products whenever possible.

You just missed out. It was available in both colors for about 24 hrs. They must have had alot of stock. Over 400 people looked at this thread.

I think they're back in Stock. Just added one to my cart to see how much he it would cost. I think it just became a steal at 346 shipped. That's awesome! Crete an account with Jet and you get it for even cheaper!

As soon as I saw the deal, I had to battle with myself over ordering and possibly having the order cancelled or driving myself across the street to Best Buy. I decided to try and I got lucky for once with this phone. I've literally cancelled 4 orders that got delayed so even though I didn't want this color, I finally got the phone and for a steal.

Yeah, and now it's showing the grey one starting at $519! ? But the gold is still not bad at $361.

Future bootloader unlocking w/ G5 Amazon

Looking to purchase a G5 Plus w/ ads from Amazon. If I pay to have them removed down the road, does this process remove the inability to unlock the bootloader when complete?

just spend the extra bux if you think you want to down the road. I did and have no real intention of rooting, worth it.

You could also take advantage of retailers that price match. I picked mine up at a local bestbuy, they were able to price match it for me after verifying my prime membership.

Indeed they did. They also did it for me when I picked up my G4+ plus last year. They'll verify you prime membership and then make sure it's sold by Amazon and not a 3rd party seller. Hope this helps your decision it's a really good phone.

No, it just means I shelled out extra doe. It's an excellent phone, I have the 2GB version. Gonna pickup the 4GB version tomorrow and try and price match against the Amazon Prime model.

Well, looking at their website now shows a different story. And I tried different stores located in a couple of different states and the results were the same.
I'm just going to return the one I bought for my wife from Amazon and pick one up from Fry's this evening. I hadn't realized the bootloader on the Prime version wasn't unlockable. That's what I get for assuming because it is a Motorola it'd be unlockable.

Because I used the search terms "Motorola G5 Plus," and it comes up with the contents in the attachment. So, BB's got a ****ty search engine. I knew that, it's just that when it came up with the phones I was looking for I thought I'd hit upon the magic spell to get the BB site to display what I was looking for. :silly:

I've read that this doesn't work more than I've read that is has worked. Best bet is to man up and try it yourself, if you think you're lucky enough.

They didn't go for it, tha bastards! I ended up getting an open-box 64GB for $260. It looked immaculate, and I've got 15 days to make sure whoever had it before didn't hose it.
