Does anyone know why this is installed by default on jb 4.3? I came across it while browsing through the installed apps section in titanium backup. Google apps policy 4.25. If you look it up in the store its says its an administrator enterprise app. I'm assuming its part of the new security stuff in 4.3. Another strange thing is that its not enabled by default. It has some pretty wicked permission privlesges. I went ahead and froze it for now.

AFAIK it's only used if you have an account Google Apps For Business account. GAFB account admin can set up and force his employees to install this stuff on their devices in order to use their accounts at employers domain. You don't need to affraid - admin can only remove content connected with accounts he administrates, so [email protected] is still 100% private (yeah I know, Google and privacy... good joke ), but [email protected] can be controlled by him anytime and anywhere.
And yes - unfortunately employer can track you via GPS all the time, make fake calls (which turns volume to 100%, no matter what), wake up your phone, etc.
Summing: it's safe until your employer is not a dck.
P.S.:
You can track your device and make those fake calls too: https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager

PayPal have recently released an application for Android, yet they have bizarrely only released it in the US... preventing UK users from using it. Now, theoretically it is possible to ask a US residing friend to provide you with a copy of the APK... but this means the application won't appear in your 'My Downloads' list in the market, and therefore you won't automatically get updates etc.
There is a better way!
An application by the name of 'Market Enabler' is the answer. This application is designed to let people from countries that don't have the ability to purchase apps do so - it effectively makes your device think it's in the US, giving you access to the US market. By installing this, switching region, installing PayPal, switching region back and then uninstalling Market Enabler (if you desire), you end up with the PayPal app on your device and in your 'My Downloads' (as shown in this screen shot).

The downside? You need a rooted device
please note that this app have been pullout from us market.

I'm having a very strange problem today. I reflashed back to my previous rom and now can't access my Google Account which has always worked previously. I can sign in to gmail and receive emails, but when run the Setup and I click on Google Account - nothing happens. Also it normally says "Tap to setup" and now it's showing google_login .
I also went to Settings>Accounts & Sync and tried to add an account, but Google is not one of the options available. If I try to access the Market thinking I could sign in there, again nothing happens - press market icon and it just returns to the app drawer. I have seen some posts and articles from endgadget where there were comments about problems being experienced with the market, but has anyone experienced this as haven't seen any similar posts?

check to make sure you have accountsyncmanager.apk in your system/apps folder. I repacked my own system.img and took out some apps I didn't need or wanted and accidently had taken that one out and experienced similar behavior.

Thanks for the pointer, but the accountsyncmanager.apk is there in the system/apps folder.
I can choose to add Facebook, Twitter, Flikr accounts etc, but not Google.
Since upgrading to 4.2, I can't use gmail.com in chrome. I use it for other accounts that I haven't linked. When I first went to gmail.com it automatically logged me into my primary account which prior to 4.2 it never did before. I chose to sign out and now it's caught in a loop constantly refreshing the url but nothing ever being displayed.
Are others getting this? If not, is there a way I can clear the cookies for just gmail.com?
I can.
All I did is it auto-logged me in and I clicked the menu icon on top left and "Sign in with different account", then just logged in.

Thank you for answering. I thought such a simple request but no one would answer.
It's strange, it will keep looping/refreshing in the address bar but no content ever comes up. However, if I request desktop version of the site, it does finally come up, but desktop gmail has always been extremely slow on chrome (I think it's actually slower now). Once I got in I successfully logged out hoping that would solve it, but once I go back to mobile it begins looping again.
I don't think there is a way of clearing all cookies/cache for a particular site in mobile chrome, but if anyone knows how I'd appreciate it. Otherwise I'm going to clear all of it's cache but I'll lose my saved logins etc for other sites.
Since installing the latest version of Omega(v33) for the i9505 I've been unable to use a pattern lock screen, instead the option is grayed out like below

I haven't encrypted my device and there isn't any administrator set
I've attempted to clear credentials like below, but after clearing credentials the button (clear credentials) doesn't go grey.
And still can't set a pattern lock screen as described earlier
What's going on? How do I fix?
Sent from my GT-I9505 using XDA Free mobile app
Well it's an app or a setting that is causing it. But it's hard to say what is causing it.
My suggestion would be to do a full wipe. That would be the easiest method.
Agree with the wipe
In my experience, something in the framework or security settings can cause that. Full wipe and if you are running some kind of AOSP lockscreen disable it. Also watch out for xposed modules that are tweaking your lockscreen.
Screen Lock
I had the exact same problem. Do you have an exchange email account for possibly work on your phone? The new upgrade will only allow for PIN or Password if you have an exchange account. I had a long, long wait with technicians before it was apparent.
