Can anyone log into gmail.com via chrome in 4.2? - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Since upgrading to 4.2, I can't use gmail.com in chrome. I use it for other accounts that I haven't linked. When I first went to gmail.com it automatically logged me into my primary account which prior to 4.2 it never did before. I chose to sign out and now it's caught in a loop constantly refreshing the url but nothing ever being displayed.
Are others getting this? If not, is there a way I can clear the cookies for just gmail.com?

I can.
All I did is it auto-logged me in and I clicked the menu icon on top left and "Sign in with different account", then just logged in.

Thank you for answering. I thought such a simple request but no one would answer.
It's strange, it will keep looping/refreshing in the address bar but no content ever comes up. However, if I request desktop version of the site, it does finally come up, but desktop gmail has always been extremely slow on chrome (I think it's actually slower now). Once I got in I successfully logged out hoping that would solve it, but once I go back to mobile it begins looping again.
I don't think there is a way of clearing all cookies/cache for a particular site in mobile chrome, but if anyone knows how I'd appreciate it. Otherwise I'm going to clear all of it's cache but I'll lose my saved logins etc for other sites.

[Q] Unable to access Google Account setup

I'm having a very strange problem today. I reflashed back to my previous rom and now can't access my Google Account which has always worked previously. I can sign in to gmail and receive emails, but when run the Setup and I click on Google Account - nothing happens. Also it normally says "Tap to setup" and now it's showing google_login .
I also went to Settings>Accounts & Sync and tried to add an account, but Google is not one of the options available. If I try to access the Market thinking I could sign in there, again nothing happens - press market icon and it just returns to the app drawer. I have seen some posts and articles from endgadget where there were comments about problems being experienced with the market, but has anyone experienced this as haven't seen any similar posts?

check to make sure you have accountsyncmanager.apk in your system/apps folder. I repacked my own system.img and took out some apps I didn't need or wanted and accidently had taken that one out and experienced similar behavior.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
Thanks for the pointer, but the accountsyncmanager.apk is there in the system/apps folder.
I can choose to add Facebook, Twitter, Flikr accounts etc, but not Google.

How to get chrome to use Google.com instead of .ca

I have Google location services turned off and under Google account settings I've also checked the box under search settings as shown here:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Yet when I do Google searches from the address bar in chrome they are always to the .ca site.
When I open up chrome settings where you can select the search engine the only 3 options are Google.ca, bing.com and yahoo.com
I've also manually gone to Google.com and made sure to set my browser cookie to set .com as my default site.
Anyone know if there's anything else I'm missing here? His do I get address bar searches to use .com?
You may have to try VPNs to trick it into using google.com, but that is kinda weird how it won't let you use the american one. How different is the canadian one, though?

Shows different results for many many searches. I personally find the mixed in Canadian results less relevant. I always always use Google.com everywhere. All my other android browsers let me set it except this chrome

Google Apps Device Policy 4.25

Does anyone know why this is installed by default on jb 4.3? I came across it while browsing through the installed apps section in titanium backup. Google apps policy 4.25. If you look it up in the store its says its an administrator enterprise app. I'm assuming its part of the new security stuff in 4.3. Another strange thing is that its not enabled by default. It has some pretty wicked permission privlesges. I went ahead and froze it for now.

AFAIK it's only used if you have an account Google Apps For Business account. GAFB account admin can set up and force his employees to install this stuff on their devices in order to use their accounts at employers domain. You don't need to affraid - admin can only remove content connected with accounts he administrates, so [email protected] is still 100% private (yeah I know, Google and privacy... good joke ), but [email protected] can be controlled by him anytime and anywhere.
And yes - unfortunately employer can track you via GPS all the time, make fake calls (which turns volume to 100%, no matter what), wake up your phone, etc.
Summing: it's safe until your employer is not a dck.
P.S.:
You can track your device and make those fake calls too: https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager

[Q] "Set up Facebook account" Boot-up

Every time I bootup my Note 3, a Facebook notification shows up on the Notification bar. When you click on it, it's titled "Set up Facebook account" and within it, it says "Galaxy Note III will receive the following info. ....."
This is really annoying, especially when I've already installed and logged-in to Facebook's App, now Samsung's own Facebook account keeps nagging me to login with permissions to grab my info.

It won't stop starting up every time you bootup, possibly until you log-in.
What gives?
looks like there's a similar thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2252152
Same issue here.
On my s4 I pressed decline once & it never reappeared.
That is part of Samsung's Facebook Sync... I think it can be used for when you tell S-Voice to post a status update onto facebook. You can go into S-Voice, then settings, then towards the bottom, you will see where you can link facebook and twitter.
Go to your contacts
Then press the menu
Choose "accounts"
Remove the facebook account
That anoying notification is gone (at least with me worked)

Can't get echo dot to update list of available devices?

Trying to get my echo dot to work with dish network (it was working but stopped) now it will not update the list of devices available for linking??
Here is what the web interface says after "discover devices"

But it's wrong, the office box hasn't been plugged in for days a and the bedroom1 box is not found (tried re-naming the bedroom1 to office and it goes through like it's working even giving to program description of the requested channel but fails the "can not communicate with device")
I've tried un-linking the account from dish to alexa, I tried a factory resetting the dot, unplugging everything waiting 30 secs., tried changing wifi networks, tried from my tablet which rather than finding the wrong info finds nothing to link to at all.
I've de-register the device COMPLETELY, did a hard reset to factory defaults and started over, and the wrong info STILL survived, my last idea thought of while typing this is I'm gonna de-reg and link through a new amz account and see if that works, that's mu last straws anyone have any other straws?
