[Q] Find 5 Camera Problem - Oppo Find 5

Hey guys. I have an Oppo Find 5 32GB rooted and running PAC 4.2.2 Nightly build 20130726 with gapps 20130606 (link to rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2268850)
I have been using this rom for quite some time. Recently the screen broke so i had sent it for repairs to china. after i received it and did a factory reset, the camera seems to be very hazy. Pictures have no focus and images are of pretty bad quality. Since before the repairs I seemed to be having none of these problems, i'm concerned about the matter. Is there any mod or fix out there? The phone itself does have a pretty good camera. If anyone can help me out please let me know. I will be attaching a sample photo and a screenshot of the settings I'm using in my camera app. I'm also attaching a photo taken with my earlier phone, the htc sensation, and basically i hope for that kind of image quality. Thank you
Ps. I tried procapture. no change.
Pps. Realised i didnt tag the pics. sorry bout that. the beatles one is the htc pic, the one with the white car is from the oppo with the settings in the last pic.

It looks like the lens is dirty.. Maybe from the inside? Have you told OPPO about this issue?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

The lens doesn't seem Dirty. And I haven't told oppo. There wouldn't be any point either since I live in India and there's no support here. I'm attaching a picture of a photo taken before the repairs. (i'll attach the pics in another post.)
As seen in the two picture, image quality is much better. I was using the same settings as shown in the earlier post.
I was also wondering,, its raining here and is there any chance condensation or steam could have gotten into the camera from my shower or the environment? Ive seen it happen before on the creen of my imac. just wondering.

I don't think camera on the tablet is necessary so I didn't regard the resolution of the camera when buying. When I go back an take some photos, I think that it is 1.3MP... and now you tell me that it is 5MP, then I think that is software problem, cause my i9000 also takes these kind of photos with poorly configured camera App...
Here are a couple I have taken just now in decent lighting. Ill post some from outside tomorrow.

Not that I use the camera a lot but I don't think it's horrible by any means. Didn't really use any effort to get a pic, just picked up my tablet from the couch and took em. It's no dedicated camera but in a pinch it's pretty good.
A few more of TV erptc... in low light. Looks amazing outside though.. and one jacked up controller

i m not satisfied with the photo quality. It feels like photo has been taken by a 0.1 Mega pixel camera.
Come on Acer you can do better
I'm not sure what all the fuss is about? I've taken several pictures as well and I have no complaints. As a matter of fact, I was shocked by the quality that I was getting from the camera while taking photos and video.
Not even the iPad 2 takes great photos. Use your phone or don't use the tablet. Personally, I'm so pleased with the Acer. It's not the best but I think I got my money's worth.
Only thing left is HD video. I want that update pronto!

Don't get me wrong, the picture quality doesn't need to be great. But it can't be BAD. I'll throw some up here in a few
Ok I'm almost certain the biggest issue is the autofocus. It just doesn't seem to lock onto anything

why is the camera so horrible?

Every picture i take is so washed out. My amaze has a rediculously good camera and it came out 2 years ago
I agree, this camera kind of sucks. I had a HTC Vivid before this phone and it took great photos. Then again, I feel like HTC phones in general take great photos.
The camera is pretty bad for inside photographs but photos that are made with natural lights are pretty good. I also suggest installing the camera mod to improve video and picture quality.

I have to post edit every single one of my photos using Picasa, otherwise they look washed out. "I am feeling lucky" is usually good enough.
Are you viewing them on the nexus4 screen? It is a very washed out color calibration. You need to get Franco kernel and adjust the colors

Has the increase in actual quality of that mod ever been proven? For as far as I know, it hasn't.
The pics do look a lil washed out but still good for a phone. If I want better pics I break out the rebel. For on the go, it'll suffice.

Uploaded to imgur because XDA image compression reduces the quality.

I figured most people probably wouldn't open the old thread as they would just assume it was just someone else making a comment that bumped it back up to the top... actually now i think about it i could have changed the title of the thread... ok my bad! Yes they are from the Z. I've taken enough pictures myself with the phone to instantly recognise the quality.
My only gripe with the Zs camera is the fact that it doesn't hold as much detail as the Xperia S does. Don't get me wrong, the picture quality is better on the Z but the S seems to focus much better. Even before taking the shot, if I just hold both cameras up side by side and point at an image, I can clearly see that the S's camera is just better focused. It might take longer to do so but the focus is better. Details get blurred out a bit too easily on the Z.
At first like most, I blamed the image processing for cleaning up the noise at the expense of detail but now I'm convinced it's a focusing problem. At zero crop, it's all fine, but once you begin to crop, you see it all.
Having said that, the S only performs better in daylight and good light situations. Under low light and indoors, the amount of noise on the S's pictures make them much worse even if they hold more detail. If Sony can fix this focusing issue with an update, the Zs camera will quite simply, be the very best out now.
But until then, I can't really make that claim with the S4 packing a similar camera without the same problem.
It has absolutely nothing to do with the image processing algorithms or compression as many have claimed. Like I said even before you take the shot, you can see that the S's camera is better focused. Everything just looks sharper, I'm surprised people haven't clued on to this yet.

Help nexus 7 camera quality terrible

This was taken with my Nexus 7 2nd generation . Front camera is clear and this is my back camera on 5mp.is is completely blurry. Is there a sticker on camera or something giving me quality this bad. It's also makes a clicking noise when switching to camera is that normal

Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
The clicking noise is normal. But the blurry pictures not. Maybe reset the device. And try again.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I don't remember having to remove a sticker from the lense at all. That clicking sound, does it come from the speakers or does it sound like its coming from N7's internals? That doesn't sound normal to me, def. not happening on mine.
I would download a replacement camera app and test that out. If the same thing happens I would guess you have a malfunctioning camera, specifiaclly the focus feature. If the replacement camera app doesnt produce the same issue and it doesn't fix it on the stock camera app then I would guess that the stock camera app isn't communicating with the lense correctly.
Best of luck!
Try flashing a different kernel as that is what bridges hardware and software.
When I take pictures close up. Like inches away the quality is better but from a few feet it's bad. I'll try it once I leave work. Sucks if I need to send it back to Google
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
Sounds like it isn't focusing properly. The clicking sound IS normal, it's the shutter or whatever, but it shouldn't be that loud. It should sound more like a light rattle when tapping near the camera.
In this case, it sounds like the camera's focus lens is broken. When you tap on different parts of the screen, in the camera app, it should focus where you are pointing. Unfortunately I think you should exchange it. This is the first one I've heard with this issue so it isn't common. Perhaps it was dropped and knocked the focus gear out of whack.
No never dropped it. Thing is babied. I'll have to call Google becaus it was bought from play store. This should be a fun experience

Shouldn't be too bad, Google customer support is pretty good IME, though it's an odd experience speaking to Americans as a Brit.
I think I have tried one of the cameras one. They are junk. Love the device but definitely would not use it for taking pictures. I just use my vacate or even my nex 4. These cams on this device are worthless.

Your picture looks as if it's totally out of focus. Try touching the image on the screen of the object you are photographing to make sure you focus on it. Alternatively, just take a picture of a wall so that everything in your picture is equal distance from the camera.

The camera is just a nice toy, not more or less. It´s good enough if you want to shoot some quick pictures of the stuff you´re about to sell at ebay
Btw, every cellphone camera offers a better quality, check this out : http://thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=padhole
One of the more significant updates to the Nexus 7 (2013) is the inclusion of a 5-megapixel camera where previously there was none. Even though camera usage isn’t very optimal on a tablet, it is a nice addition when you just need a simple shot and nothing too fancy.
The camera app brings all the usual capabilities you get in a stock Android camera app, and that includes Photo Sphere, an improved Photo Sphere, in fact. Picture quality is decent enough, but honestly, it’s nothing to get too excited about.
I'm never gonna use the camera. I usually sell all my olf stuff once a new one comes out and this would be a bad thing when it comes to sell it. Something wrong with focus. Working on a return through Google customer service
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
There is definitely something out of whack with the camera on your N7 FHD! While the camera on this tablet is anything but good, the photo you posted is worse than normal. I agree that using a camera on a tablet is far from idea, my Asus Infinity takes excellent photos!! I'll rarely ever use either camera in the N7 FHD, but if mine was defective then I'd definitely want a replacement device!

My N7's rear cam also needs to focus twice (or more) before it snaps a good focused photo.
I'm running a custom kernel and ROM- but they both originate from Google source-code, so it may well be a software issue?
Once it gets focus lock- it seems to drift off very quickly, almost like it's too sensitive to very small movements of the tablet.
Would be nice to have a manual focus override...
Didn't even try the camera prior to reading this thread
But indeed, the images are grainy. They are "okay" when being watched in a smaller size but at 100% you can surely see blocky stuff.
Made two test shots (here and here). Am never going to use the camera anyway so no biggie for me
Looks better then mine did. I got a replacement and this one is better. Not gonna use it just h Los for resell value that Everything works

Galaxy Note 3 - Low Light Camera Noise

Hi All,
I just purchased SGNote3 N9005 yesterday. The battery performance is decent, S800 is blazing fast and I really enjoy my new GNote.
Unfortunately, the performance of the camera is sub-par compared to S4 (in overall), especially in low light condition.
Attached is the samples of the photo taken under low light condition, red spots (tint?) are seen on the screen as well as on the picture taken.
Could anyone confirm and reproduce this bug?, if not I'm looking for 1 to 1 replacement...
Is this going to be another HTC One Camera bug?

This might sound stupid, but did you remove the plastic protective film on the lens of the camera?
