Lately, my Nexus 10 has been dying a lot quicker, and when I look at the battery menu, I see Android OS with like 40% usage, and then second is screen, but I only used screen for about 3.5 hours at most according to the stats. I'd post some screenshots but I kind of derped this morning and didn't take a screenshot before charging it and going out for a bit.
Android OS also had around 8 hours awake time or something like that.
I was on EOS, but recently flashed back to stock for the new 4.3 update, but it was happening when I was on EOS too.
How can I fix this?

I don't know if I'm the only one who's noticing this but I just came off 4.3 TouchWiz onto SlimKat 4.4.2 (Build 5) and I'm noticing battery drain like crazy on my mobile. I thought it was bad on my previous stock ROM after the horrendous 4.3 update Samsung provided but this is worse. I used to get around 9-10 hours of battery life which has been reduced to around 6-7 hours now (I know it's not a HUGE difference but I'm not a fan of charging my phone twice a day). Overnight (despite leaving it on flight mode) the battery of my phone drops by 8 odd % in around 6-7 hours. Does anyone know the cause of this and can someone please help me?
Thanks

1. Switch off Google now.
2. Root.
3. Install Greenify + Donation Pack.
4. Greenify the intended apps.
5. Switch off Location.
6. Turn off animations.
7. Turn down the brightness.
8. Turn on the dark slim mode.
9. Switch to 2g.
With the above, I get 1+ day of battery on my i9300.
Read in other forums of other ROMs with 4.4.2 that battery drains with this KitKat version
Using omni ROM 4.4.2 battery drains on this too. Could it be Version specific problem ?
Hey guys,
I have been using OnePlus2 quite a time now. About 8 days.
I have seen reviews and heard claims that battery life in OnePlus2 is great. They said with heavy usage, it should last 1 complete day with about 5 hours of screen on time, on full screen brightness and wifi on. With me its not that good. In fact when I see battery usage, - Android OS is the culprit most of the time hogging my battery.
Below is the screenshot, taken after 6 hours of full charge. Out of which screen on time was 1 hour and 52 mins and on call time was about 1 hour and 30 mins. As you can see, Android OS is eating lot of battery.
I have used many Android Devices. But keeping CPU awake about 1 hour out of just 6, seems pretty odd.
I performed factory restore and still the same here. Is it same for everybody else who uses OnePlus2?
Any suggestions to troubleshoot this further or this is for sure OxygenOS problem?
Hello,
Maybe try with Snapdragon Batteryguru app? It mamanges the CPU consumption for each item. see attached my screenshot (phone discharging since 5 hours)

That's a problem for almost everyone I have seen .... Well you can flash the full rom and install Snapdragon Batteryguru app and make sure you select the only apps you use to refresh hope it works out for you.
Thanks for the response guys. Let me test that app. Appreciate your suggestions.
Hi guys,
It's the first day of running Android 7.0, upgraded last night, off the charger at 10 AM. Now it's 2:40 in the evening and I have 28% left with 2h30m SOT till now, so I guess a ~3H SOT till the phone turns off. I find this pretty bad.
Are you experiencing the same problems? What's your first day SOT with N?
LOL!! give it time breh...... give your phone and kernel a few cycles to see how things go. Maybe report back on the weekend. That should be enough time for it to adjust to your usage
This helps me:
1. Flash stock recovery
2. Make a factory reset (save your files)
3. Setup your N6P
4. Enjoy
I am experiencing low battery life too. But that was the case on Marshmallow too until I installed the ElementalX kernel. It's an impressive kernel for sure, even when I installed it plain, without any customization of my own when it asks when installing it.
Looking to go back to elemental but only after giving Nougat's update and its kernel few more days to showcase its ability. Finger crossed!
Perhaps it's user/expectation error, OP. Give it time or do some maintenance wipes. I've been using the previews and battery life is very similar to MM, if not improved.
Sent from my Pixel C using XDA-Developers mobile app
I also experiencing battery issue here. previously when using MM, i got > 4 hours SOT. but after upgrading to 7.0, i only get about 3 hours SOT. when I see the battery settings, the Android System is consuming more battery than the screen. I never had experience like this in MM
do you guys also have the Android System consuming much battery?
I got 4 hours and 8 mins. SOT with battery remaining at 15%. This is with sync and high accuracy location switched on. I also played 1 hours and 15 mins of NBA Live during this period. That said this is using black pepper v2 profile on stock kernel.
So for me it's not bad, though a few more cycles would be ideal to give a concrete evaluation of battery life. Doze does seem to kick in a lot more now, and phone is really deep sleeping when on standby so I think the results are promising.
I thought my battery was doomed.. Until I tried a Note 7 Port. For some reason I get MUCH better battery life on the ports than "stock" custom roms.
On ports I get almost zero drain and 1-1.30 hours per 10% and that is while my phone is even in the pocket most of the day (low standby drain). On the other hand on every stock rom, after the same day, same usage and same apps I have around 45min SOT and down to 70%.
I think Android System is the culprit, but there are still people having amazing battery life on "stock" roms. So how do you stop this Android System drain? It's clearly fixed on the Note 7 and there might be months before we get the updates where the note are now.. But I like stability by far, so would like to go back to stock, if I could stop the drain.
Thanks in advance
Hey guys.
So I noticed everyone here and anywhere else basically, complaining about the battery life on this phone after the MIUI 11 update so I used the debloater directly after getting the phone to have the best battery life possible.
Turned off all the suggested apps and services and I gotta say battery improved, but it wasn't what was promised by the phone's specs. I'm barely getting 4h SoT, without any heavy usage whatsoever, only social stuff.
The culprit for me as well has been the Android System, with over 40% drain every day. So I installed Accubatery to try and see what's happening with my battery, along with better battery stats.
What I found useful from the accubattery app is the permanent notification where it tells you, after a few seconds, how much mA will be drained in an hour of using the phone like the way you are using it at that moment. So I did a test. Had my phone on the home screen, doing nothing. After a few seconds the reading showed -180mA, which is awesome right? Then I locked my phone and left it at the always-on display for a minute or so. Unlocked it and the notification showed -980mA.
This is very VERY weird and I cannot find anything anywhere suggesting what anyone can do to combat this. I have more average battery drain when the screen is off than when the screen is on.
I have never reset my phone (and would like that to stay that way if possible) and the phone itself is a month old. It's really saddening to see other people are getting twice as much SoT.
Do you guys have any suggestions?

I was on Miui 11 for a few weeks and had ~8h SOT with AOD enabled all the time. Now I am on Pixel Experience and I have ~7.5h SOT without AOD so I am very satisfied with the battery life.
I advise you to wait for Miui 12, which will come very soon to the Mi 9T. Then everything will probably change again with the battery life...
