Hi there.
I recently got a Demo Unit from a friend that works for Samsung that has a micro sim card slot and a SDcard slot.
And i'm wondering if there is possible to root and flash a custom Recovery like CWM?
Right now im stuck in restrictions from a administrator, so i cannot uninstall any of the Retail Apps.
I do have a password to disable them, but not UNINSTALL them.
That password is: M729Q16K8546
but like i said, it only disables it, doesn't uninstall it and it still prevent me to uninstall order pre-installed apps.
Has there been a solution to this yet?
please let me know. thank you.
Have you tried flashing a stock rom through Odin?

Disable Administrators
Root with CF-Auto root
Install Root Uninstaller and uninstall all DCT Retail Mode and Samsung Retail
also successfully flashed twrp with odin.
Use build.prop editor from playstore and and change model number from i9505x to i9505 (just to make mobile odin work!)
I have done all this on my own unit.
However i have not tried to flash anything from mobile odin. (maybe try yours 1st)

Hello everyone, before I continue I will give my phone details below:
Model Number: GT-I9505
Andriod version: 4.4.2
Baseband version: I9505XXUFNC5
So my problem is that I followed a guide to rooting my Galaxy S4, after which Odin confirmed to me that my phone had passed the rooting setup, all very good. The problem occurs when checking to see if my phone had successfully being rooted, I downloaded Root Checker Basic which informed me that my phone actually isn't rooted.
So as anyone would do they start the rooting process again, to which the same outcome repeated.
I can not post the link to the guide I used, the website I followed was ibtimes. The guide I followed is named 'Root galaxy s4 (LTE) I9505 on Official Andriod 4.2.2 Kitkat Firmware.
The link above is the guide I used.
So my question is, has anyone else come across this in the past? I did a brief search in the forums prier to posting this but came to no avail.
Thank you for any and all help with regards to my problem!
1. Try to root ur phone 2 times with same method u used.
2. Always KNOX app will block SuperSU app. You will have to freeze or delete KNOX app.
As requested I deleted the KNOX app and tried a Root, it has again come up with the same results, quoting from the SuperSU app 'There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!'
I can not think as to what I am doing wrong.
Update:
I have factory reset my phone, and tried the root again to which the results are the same, Odin doesn't go yellow, it goes blue but some people say this can be due to different versions.
I have got usb debugging enabled, the battery is charged. This is really frustrating as I was wanting to get put a ROM on my phone today haha.
If anyone has any further advice that will be much appreciated!
Have you tried flashing CWM Recovery to your phone? When exiting CWM if you're not rooted, it'll tell you and ask if you want to root. Select Yes then go back into Android and check your SuperSU.
Otherwise, you could always try use Odin to flash one of Djembys pre-rooted stock roms?
If you're just wanting to flash a custom rom, then you could just download a custom rom, put it on your phone internal storage (or external SD), flash a custom recovery and then flash the rom? That's worked for me in the past.
Try to root again with odin and if your recovery say anything like ''fix root'' always say no
I rooted with towelroot and then wanted to unroot because I was having issues. I was too lazy to just flash a new firmware, so instead I read that if you delete the SU and BUSYBOX files from xbin, it will unroot your device. I unrooted my device and restarted it but I am getting the 'system software not authorized' message. I tried to use odin for hours on end, trying different settings and what not and have no luck (odin needs the phone to be rooted in order to work its magic). Am I S.O.L.? I have the Verizon g900v

Knox doesn't like you messing with system files. By corrupting, rather than removing your root you now have the worst of both worlds. Knox isn't suppressed anymore and complains because it detects some of the changes you made. And your root is no longer functional.
You need to either re-root, either as an end goal or to be in a position to remove root properly. Or alternately you can install a 100% stock firmware so that Knox is placated. Odin 3.x shouldn't object to flashing a full and current Verizon OEM ROM. Note that the latter approach will obliterate your personal settings and data, so a backup would be in order first.
Hi
I successfully used odin to re-root my S5 G900F however when i followed the video posted explaining how to flash supersu using sphinx my phone will not boot i get message at boot saying set warranty bit:kernel and it will not proceed from there can someone help me with this issue i am kind of new to rooting etc so if i have missed something let me know
Thanks
Hi there, whats your android version ?
Try flashing this with your custom recovery
If you're 'successfully rooted' you can download and install SuperSU direct from the playstore......Why would you need to odin flash it?

basically the same phone just the FD has an extra sim slot
thats all
you can flash anything F related on FD, even the stock firmware
the following steps i do to root my SM-G935F and i don't will miss it.
the first method (TWRP with supersu-zip file and dm-verity disabler install was failed, bootloop)
The second try with CF-Autoroot have rooted it.
Bevore rooting with CF auto-root it's needed that you activate the developer options with oem-unlock and usb-debugging.
Than you make a factory reset about the android-own system recovery (home, vol+ and power)
at next you must change in the download mode without boot the "fresh" system and then flash the CF-Autoroot with odin.
Than you can start the fresh system without any first changes bevore rooting process have starts. The securityLogAgent warns you about unauthorized changes. you can disable this notice. And you must disable samsung knox too because it can behinds supersu. a example s-health will not work with rooted devices. one file edited and it works again.
see here. https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/how-to/guide-how-to-s-health-devices-knox-t3543306
In the system app menu you can only stop it. Than you go fast to supersu, this app disable it.
Very new to rooting. and trying to learn and tinker.
Purchased Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0/SM-T350NZAAXAR wifi only.
Performed updates and am on 6.01
Rooted it by following these instructions (http://www.droidviews.com/root-galaxy-tab-a-8-0-and-install-twrp-sm-t350-t355-sm-p350-p355/)
Downloaded and then removed an app to confirm that tablet is rooted.
Did not realize that I had Knox --- did not even know about Knox and when I reboot. I get a yellow message in left corner
Set Warranty Bit - Kernel --- not a big deal since it is not under warranty anyhow. Are there ways to reset this?
Questions/need explanation and/or links to explain
? How do I use the TWRP recovery to make a backup ---
? How do I use the TWRP recovery to go back to the stock version I had ---can that be done?
? Is it safe to use the unroot in SU Superuser ---not that I want to ---just learning and want to know.
? I can no longer update via normal channels because it now says custom ----so to update is it always via flashing using Odin?
? Where do I find custom ROM's for my device and do I flash using Odin?
? What is the difference between Odin and Kies?
? Is there a list somewhere of what system apps are safe to delete?
