Silent without vibrate in Stock? - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Simple question but I can't find a solution. Is there a way, other than manually setting ringer to a silent ringtone, to make the M silent without vibrate in the stock ROM?
I'm a third shift worker and vibrate wakes me as bad as a ringer would. I know you can do it in custom ROMs. Any help would be appreciated.

I just press Vol- until it goes to vibrate, and then press it one more time for total silence.

Thanks, that did it for now. I would still like to find a software method, so if anyone knows, please post it here. Thanks!

Sushhhhh or somehow like that on the play store free.

What I use is notification toggle by j4velin. It fits in your notification bar in which you can turn on/off all sorts of things, sound is one of them.

Is there a way like on s3 to ger volume to silent by pressing volume keys? It only gets me to vibrate then have to turn vibrate off on menu

This feature was present in the original note but it seems it's been removed in the note 2. An alternative way which you may be interested in is simply by holding the power button and selecting mute.
Hope that helps.
Cheers for that. Its a real shame thats been taken away.

Indeed it was useful when on the go, muting the phone within your pocket without having to look at it. I'm sure some application out there could reinstate this.
Yeah I miss that feature as well, too bad it got removed

Aww it doesn't have this? wth are they thinking... where do you turn off the vibrate? all the way in settings? or in the pull-down notification menu? Thanks.

Capacitive buttons question

mods delete please!
It works just fine for me, but you can adjust the amount of vibration the phone has for a couple different things... It's under Settings>Sounds>Vibration Intensity. I think it's the Haptic option, after some testing.
...
OK, I just did a vibrate only test. No sound.. and nothing happens. All vibrations on max haptic is on and I got nothing coming from it. Can someone test this out for me?

Haha. Noob failure of the day.. i should have done a better Google search. The power saving mode which i didn't know was on actually turns off the haptic feedback. -___-

Vibration Settings Not Sticking

Hello again.
Not sure if this has already been discussed. Apologies if it was - I tried searching with Tapatalk but couldn't find anything.
I set my vibration settings to heartbeat but it doesn't seem to do anything. When notifications come through, I'm still getting the default long buzz. Anyone else run into this?

Hahaha yes I definitely am. It's sticking in terms of the option being persistent in the settings, but when it comes to it actually being used, I'm still getting the default long buzz. Will try a few of the other options and see what happens.

make your own one see if that sticks
Maybe this is a stupid question. Does the vibration pattern affect notifications or just the ringtone? I hate having such a long pulse for a short notification tone.
Apologies if it only affects the ringer. I'm just getting used to the Note 3. Can't wait for some good roms to come out for the Verizon version!

Make phone ring loudly for one contact while silenced?

Every night I put my phone on silent so as not to be disturbed, however I'd like to make it so that if one specific contact calls or texts me multiple time's in the space of a few minutes the phone will go to max ringer volume but only for them. If someone could tell me an app or walk me through a tasker set up I'd be very greatful. Thank you

I use Llama to do that. Just create a silent profile (and control it using time and/or location) and add "noisy contact" to that profile. Very simple and works perfectly.

Does it make of so the contact has to call or text twice before the increase? Thank you for the response.

No, noisy contacts overrides the profile setting so they ring on the first try.
You could use this feature in the settings for calls, but I'm not sure if messages from the contact will be muted or not.

That's only a feature on Samsung ROMs precisely why I asked in the nexus 4 Q and A stock android doesn't have quiet hrs which is why I have this problem. Thanks for the reply though.

Actually it isn't only a feature on samsung roms, other roms have the feature as well. I'm using a nexus 4, that's PRECISELY why I replied to your thread in the nexus 4 q&a section.
I'm using this rom (with a touchwiz theme): http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/development/rom-candykat-rom-t2637931

Yeah I realised it was a theme, sorry for my slightly aggressive reply, my ROM doesn't have this feature and I don't want to leave the rom for it.

Lockscreen time out edit?

Now that we have root is there a way to edit the time the from when you wake your device at the lockscreen to when it turns off? I like using power saving mode and it forces this to 3 seconds annoyingly this is a setting that can't be changed through the stock ui.
Thanks in advance

Sorry I don't have an answer to this but I am with you! This is SO annoying!
Maybe 6-7 seconds would be best.
