So I just have a question for anyone interested:
I recently installed and rooted my Nexus 4 on 4.3 using the NexCry Toolkit. Anyways, it installed TWRP version 2.5, but I was wondering if CWM works on 4.3 as I prefer it Has anyone got CWM on 4.3, and if so please share how you got to it! Thanks!

When the phone reboot to install 4.2.2 it shows CWM interface and a list a series of "no" then a "install zip file anyway" and when i select that i get another error that says the zip file update is incorrect. I've nexus root toolkit installed and just added OTA RootKeeper to try to preserve root access.
How can i get 4.2.2 installed properly?
thx!
That's because you have a custom recovery, you need to have stock recovery in order to update 4.2.2 from Google OR Flash a custom rom with 4.2.2 and be happy
Thanks a bunch for the clarification! So i guess there is no "easy" way to temporally disable the custom recovery then? What would an example of a fine tuned custom rom with 4.2.2?

I used CWM to flash to 4.2.2 however CWM gave me a message telling me that I would loose root with the update. Then it asked me to click to fix and I was able to flash 4.2.2 and not loose root

Any chance you could share the steps you took to do the 4.2.2 upgrade through CWM?
Thx!

The latest SuperSU that you flash in recovery is the only thing that works on AOSP/AOSP based roms (Anything that isn't Cyanogenmod, AOKP, ParanoidAndroid, PAC, etc)
You have to flash this unless you want broken sensors: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2147194
Select the first zip and flash it before that rom of your choice or you will have problems.

I have a tf300t tablet and was going to flash the PAC rom to my device. My question is, do I need the latest twrp (2.6.3) to do this? I have twrp 2.5.0 installed currently with cromi xenogenesis rom. Thanks in advance.
P.S. I am a real NOOB at this Android OS, but learning a little every day.
Figured it out with the help of kd8bny

I could not back up my pad with the twrp 2.6.3.0, so I reinstalled twrp 2.5.0.0 and made a backup (it worked), then installed twrp 2.6.3.0 and then installed the pacman rom. Thanks to, kd8bny for getting me through it. Btw, the rom is great.
I have a Galaxy S Advance and was going to flash the PAC rom to my device. My question is , do can Work with CWM 6 without TWRM?
Thanks

What happened when you tried?
I made a Backup of the Stock Rom on my TF201 before installing PAC, however after restoring it, it did not boot.
Changing back to PAC worked, however.
TWRP 2.6.3.3, I think.
hi guys,
i just did a search in the development and original development threads for 'stock rooted 4.4' and came up with nothing.
Is there one created yet and also one that is cwm flashable?
thanks guys
There is already a working root for 4.4. I actually rooted my device immediately after I upgraded to kitkat yesterday. Though I lost the link here in xda, just search for it.
thanks mate.
the reason i was looking for a simple flashable stock rooted rom is i am very good with knowing about the bootloader or what exact 4.3 i used last time and i didnt know if it mattered.
there is an official stock rooted version on the nexus 7 2013 forum i noticed yesterday but i couldnt see one here.
also, i am running cwm recovery and i think the nexus root toolkit uses twrp doesnt it?
anyway, thanks for the help and hopefully a flashable soultion will be available soon.

If you already have CWM installed, then you can flash supersu. I don't know where it is in this forum, but just try searching.

Thanks but I already have supersu, I don't understand what that has to do with the rom im looking for apart from the root element that I already understand about.
I downloaded the flashable zip from here - roll back to 4.2.2 stock first using CWM and kept my data, about 90 minutes including wait time - running KitKat now, rooted (again) on KitKat 4.4 stock.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=47522094#post47522094 - see my post for steps that I followed. Results vary & do so at your own risks.
I'm sure in a few more days - XDA developers will tweak & come up with optimized odexed stock rom with add-ons, but I'm half a step ahead for my own sneak preview - less than 1 hour into it, smooth & no FC or errors - figure I might as well do it over the weekend - the new baby Nexus 5 running stock 4.4 & rooted already, of course.

HI,
I have rooted my Nexus 7 (2012) using WugFresh's NRT 1.7.6 on stock kitkat 4.4 .
No issues at all...
Thanks to WugFresh for this wonderful root toolkit.

Flash the 5.0.1 factory image with fastboot. Then flash the twrp image with fastboot. Then flash supersu in twrp. You'll have 5.0.1 with root.
