How can I revert to the Rom my phone came with...

Hi Guys,,,
Hope this is the right place to post this.
My son will be taking my Hero next month when I upgrade to a Samsung galaxy S2 (cant wait) and I want to put the basic, ROM on it for him. Simple but effective...
Can someone pls point me to where I can find it ????

If your phone was branded when you got it, you should look for an RUU from your carriers homepage, else try look at HTC.com under support -> Hero -> Downloads
Try looking in the SGSII forum, there should be some good stuff there

to get back to the original ROM download one of the RUU.exe files from one of the sites (see post #3). Once downloaded run the .exe file (if you are on linux you obviously wont be able to run .exe but i have seen somewhere a thread which describes how to run RUU file on linux you would have to find that). Follow the on screen instructions and you will have the original ROM back
p.s. if you have an unbranded hero you want the file 'RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_3.32.405.1_R_Radio_63.18.55.06P_6.35.15.11_release_signed.exe' from http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Hero. otherwise choose the file according to your carrier

ok, so I downloaded it,, I connected the phone to the PC via USB and ran the programe.
The message comes up after a while saying the Update Utility cannot connect to the phone... Asks me to check it is connected...
Any ideas anyone ????

Where you running a sense rom and you can try running the ruu file in bootloader and powering on the phone while hold power and back

[Q] Not fully working Omnia

Hey guys, I've a litlle problem. I can't use my Omnia properly. I bought it today, starts it and there is no screen for setting pin. It shows me "Welcome back. Now we'll help you fiish setting up a few things". Then I click next and I see only home screen, nothing more. If I do reset it does same thing. I can select language and then I see only home screen... I can't browse web (IE does not start), I can't call, sending SMS but I can listen radio (whoa!! ). I also uploaded YT vid for you with my problem, it's better than text.

Yes, it is 8GB version, bought it from friend. It's updated to Nado by Mac's Windows Phone Conector. It looks like apps are not fully instaled, I just don't have full first start guide. Also I can't connect it with Zune, it always says Phone setup Incomplete

Hmm it seems like the update something messed up probably. I'd suggest flashing stock ROM and starting from there.

Can you just please send link to stock rom? I am kinda lost, I know how to flash but I dont know which rom is stock rom... Thanks

Any is stock, it depends on the CSC you flash. I suggest flashing XXKC1 and if you don't mind O2 logo, there is bundled O2 Czech CSC file with it. Latest ROM, latest bootloader, latest radio, latest everything. (Build 7392)

I had the exact same problem as Martan. I bought the phone off eBay it came with 7392 and could boot and access apps and marketplace,etc but not phone, messaging or internet explorer.
I then flashed with the optus firmware from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1131891 but now I am stuck with version 7008 and the phone won't update any further!
What should I do here???

Could it be that the phone was not originally optus rom? Would that explain it? Do I need to find the original rom to fix this problem?

I updated to 7390 using chevron, but still not getting update to 7392 or mango using zune. Is it possible there is a problem with my zune software? thanks

I only able to get 2.3.5 I9100GDZKI1 official firmware after an massive search around google, and even sources from samsung.
I don't even found any European or any other region firmware or sources.
The only thing make me mad is WHY samsung quietly MIX GT-i9100G into market with GT-I9100.
Why? Difficult to Develop an Genuine GT-I9100? I have a lot of money! But i cannot get a good product. Darm!!!

It's really not that bad. It's using the same platform as the Galaxy Nexus.

no matter how...this phone is out there selling...and different with I9100 also...hope that this forum can be out soon

and when and returned the newer one the they replied: ''this is the newer one and we sell both of them as galaxy s ii'', i did even mention the differences, i think that im going to sue them
anyway.... if you told me how to upload i will do it as soon as i can

does it turn on (light red) when you unlock the screen?

Help With an Official ROM
Hey Guys my Samsung Galaxy i9100G was in a brick mode and I cant fix it.. I need to flash it but I also need an official ROM with "3 files.." to erase everything and Reset. The one file ROM doesn´t allow me to do that.. So I cant find anything on the internet with "3 files : MODEM, CODE, CSC.." Please I need Help

[Q] Detection of my HD2 variant and other INFO!

Hello guys , i just bought a new HTC HD2 a second ago , was worried about which version is it actually , as i think the t8585 is an international version/variant but on boot its says Welcome O2 , that i suppose is a European Sim, but it can easily detect any kind of bands/sim cards in India and thus seems to be an International - Unlocked version,,,

It has all white color light buttons that weren't in my friends HD2 (t8585)
And will i be able to flash all radios on it like the international one? or do i have to flash only t-mobile restricted..

well, i know that if all the five buttons on the bottom are white it is international... just to be sure, can you check how much ram/rom does it have?

But does it matters it has o2 welcome screen? (Actually no O2 stickers or logo's on the phone anywhere) so shud i take it as a International version with O2 rom ?

Mine was Wind-branded, but i unbranded it flashing latest official rom and after rooted it and started flashing... Just like yours, mine only had Wind logo during boot, but no other logos/brands... I think it's an international version with o2-customized rom, nothing more

Thx for your reply , let's begin this thing , being a first timer , can u just poke me through the things that i need to do (no methods needed , just names) in increasing order begining from the first thing that i need to do till that of wp7.8 installation or even till magldr will solve it

Well, first you need hspl (use one by cotulla) then radio, then magldr or clk (choose after reading differences), recovery and the last thing is the rom... Look for guides and comparisons around XDA

there is also another recovery, TWRP, but i had compatibility issues with some roms (most of the older ones)... give a try

ASUS Zenfone Pegasus 3 (ZC520TL)

Hi, I bought the Pegasus 3 from Tinydeal (German warehouse) so I received it with Global ROM. Looked to be perfect, but I couldn't make or receive any phone calls because a message box kept popping up: ASUS calling screen has stopped.
So then I tried updating the firmware (it said there was one available) but it stopped halfway during installation. After that I tried installing the new firmware manually, but I overlooked the "CN" part So I was stuck on Chinese ROM. It took some time, but following this tut: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1982587 and using this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gen...sus-3-x008-t3447614/post69293999#post69293999 I managed to get back to Global ROM.
However; still the same problem! ASUS calling screen has stopped. Is there anybody who has an idea for me to fix it? I tried using Nova Launcher, but perhaps I should try a different dialer?
One other thing: my contacts don't sync with Google, and I can't add the Google account to ASUS contacts. But Calendar, Gmail etc are all there...
I sincerely hope to be able to use this phone!

I think I may have a clue on the issue; it seems the IMEI number is invalid. Probably after flashing the Global ROM using SP Flash tools?
So now I'm looking to edit IMEI number with MTK Droid Tool, but the device is not recognized. I installed MTK USB drivers, Android CDC drivers, tried PDAnet, ASUS PC-link but none of it works. I'm getting rather desperate :crying:
First question; to use MTK Droid Tool, should the USB be used for Charging, File transfers or USB storage? USB-debugging is on.
Second; what more can I do?

hello, your reseller seem to sell you a chinese asus version (check the firmware version if it CMCC... it is a chinese rom). The asus X008 and asus zc520tl zenfione max 3 are the same.
So if your firmware is CMCC .... nstall a fresh original rom with sp flashtools (http://www.needrom.com/download/asus-x008/), when done download the updated rom from asus (http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/ZenFone/ZC520TL/UL-ASUS_X008-CN-13.0.0.12-user.zip) and put it outside folders, restart the smartphone the update will be detected.
I got the same problem as you before and now everything is ok I can call and receieve calls, the only hings is that there are only chinese and engliash languages and you have to install alternativbe store like apptoide because google services are not avalable on chinses rom.

i need help my phone is international model and i flashed this file and now i can't restore TWRP backup or needer i have imei or can detect sim card. where can i find UL-ZC520TL-WW-13.0.1.30-user but in RAW format for flashing with SPtools?

I'm really stuck with this phone I can't use right now :crying:
What would be the best way to get it working again? Currently the IMEI is wrong, so I need to root my device in order to be able to use it. The ROM I'm using right now is the adapted CN version, but ofcourse I'd love to use the (real) WW version I noticed someone found on a Russian board. What should I do?

Turn on the permissions for Asus Calling Screen, they are off by default. Hope this helps

The 6.0.1 version of the app works, but can't say the same for the 7.0. I believe it's because the system is Marshmallow and the version number reflects the system version. Hope this helps

i've got a similar problem, after flashing the rom over at needrom, my phone does not charge anymore :-/ battery reimains at 2% ... does someone here know how to fix that?

This phone has OTG update, why do you need to flash any custom rom?

You should send it in to an asus service center. Doesn't your phone have a warranty?

That's good to hear! I've been trying MAUIMeta (and SN writer) myself, but I keep running into the problem of the modem file and/or the NVRAM DB file.
What DB file do you point MAUIMeta to?

Edit: I flashed the ROM again and this time it worked!! I used the modem file BPLGUInfoCustomAppSrcP_MT6735_S00_MOLY_LR9_W1444_MD_LWTG_MP_V88_P12_1_lwg_n that I copied from the phone to my desktop. (As I did before, but this time it worked!!)
