S4 with liquipel or neverwet? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone tried liquipel or neverwet chemical to s4 or s4 active?
Im planning to purchase neverwet and put it on my s4 active. Because there are number of people in the sr active tread that is already broken because of the leak.
Do you think it will work? Thanks guys.
And here is the video of neverwet

I have an Active and have been wondering about liquipel for the same reasons. I'm close enough to them that I can go there and have it done... just don't know how it would deal with the gaskets and whatnot.

It should work, i know you need to remove the battery before spraying iy with never wet or you may short circuit something.

neverwet leaves a white coat on the device and wears off quickly. If your are going to do it get liquipel. I would only put never wet on the internals of my phone... this will be noticeable because of how white the coating is.. probably will void the warranty

Samsung I9500/9505 battery cover?

Are the I9500 Samsung galaxy s4 battery covers the same as our I337's? I see a lot of cool replacement ones on eBay, want to pick one up but they all say I9500.
Hoping they fit.

it's the same. and sometimes there are thick extended batteries with covers.

Suggestions please

So about 9 day into buying a galaxy s4 I accidently dropped it in a cup of water and only half an inch was submerged. Long story short, the phone broke because of it and I now have a new S4. However I am very afraid of how easily it can get water damaged. So I was wondering if anyone here tried Liquipel or have a great water resistant case. The active is sounding more interesting now after this episode.

Are you serious??? How easily it can get waterdamaged?
I'm still amazed at how easily people make the dumbest assumptions based on their negligent behavior!
My suggestion is, DONT DROP IT IN WATER. ITS NOT A BOAT, ITS AN ELECTRONIC! THEY DONT MIX
Liquiped does work, although it's doesnt work on morons so dont go swimming with it
Thanks polish for such kind words. I am very aware it was my mistake so I don't blame Samsung. I just wanted to know what other things I could do from happening in the future.
I've had other smartphones for about 7 years now and this is the first time I broke one. Hope you understand.

I do understand, and i hope you understand this is not the waters fault, or the phones, but 100% yours.
Now, to put that in back, liquipel does work. I had it done on my S3 when i was in Miami. It works. Although, it's a water repellant, it does not waterproof the phone. There is a huge difference between both, one can but fully submerged in water and left there for hours without any consequence, the other might make it resistant to water droplets, rain, and perhaps being dropped in the sink with some water in it. The videos do show the phone fully working while being submerged, but its BS. If a phone is dropped in water, no matter how short, there will be damage. Aquapel might limit the damage but the phone will eventually die when the water starts drying up.
Watch this video to show you what it really does

Loose camera?

Just noticed that if i put my finger on my camera and move it, the whole camera moves and even makes a clicking noise. Is this normal and if not is there anyway to tighten it up? It's more noticeable with back cover off.

My only option is to have Verizon send me a refurbished phone. Do you think I should? The lady at the Verizon store said that since the s4 just came out that the refurbished phone would probably be brand new. Should I take the risk? I mean, if they sent me a refurbished one and it was scratched etc I'd send it back and tell them send me a different one. Wouldn't send them my original s4 until I made sure I was happy with the refurbished one.

bad device...exchange time. you have to call verizon for the exchange, they will do it, you will not have to send your device back until they send you one, and it should have a return sticker to return it.
all is well...umm at least that is what tmo and att does.
good luck.
Honestly I just want to sell this s4 and get the HTC One when the comes to Verizon. This is my 2nd s4. The other one had lag and heat issues now this one has a loose camera. Never gong to buy a Samsung device again..

How about you not be a jerk and get out of thread if you can't contribute
@op If your on AT&T call your local store your covered by a one year manufacture warranty. The vibration motor in phone became loose and stopped working I went to the warranty exchange place and got a brand new S4. Do it before you sell it so you get more value

I'm gonna concur with this you. Because the S4 is so new, they don't have refurbished phones yet. Since you're on Verizon, I'm gonna assume its the same because they haven't had the S4 as long. I don't have this issue, so I would think that its just a defect.

I'd ask to speak with a supervisor, or go to a store. Explain to them that this is brand new, and that you will not accept a refurbished device. It works best if you rant

Manufacturing defect?

Just got my new G2 with a nice curly hair baked into the case. Would you be returning it?
Thats nasty...not only would I return it I would contact LG...thats worse than a hair in your food lol.
sent from canada via my S4,Note 3 or G2
lmao that sucks, obviously exchange it.
Just get it returned, there's no need to contact LG directly like Force said though. I highly doubt someone intentionally put that hair there, accidents happen.
Sent from CAMACHO, my Verizon G2 (VS980) running PAC ROM.
That lookd more like lint than hair to me, but yes, if your with in the return time of your carrier bring it back.
have you checked if it's under the plastic protector that comes already applied to the edges ? maybe it's not baked into the case ..

Me personally if that was me I would just wait for the Note 4 to come out in 3 months.

Are you sure it's void? There is a manufacturer warranty of 1 year and the Note 3 hasn't been out for a full year yet and if there isn't a nearby Samsung store you can always just mail it but expect to wait 3-4 for weeks for a new Note 3.
Your probably just better off waiting for the Note 4 to come out since it isn't really a serious problem, you could always cover it with a case too.

same issue. I take care of my N3 like an egg and still the bezel got the hairline crack. I bought some slickwraps crabon fiber and now its covered.
I read your thread and decided to check mine. It looks like there's a thin line right above the spen. But it's so straight it actually looks like a seam and like it belongs there.
I'm not freaking out about it. I take good care of my Note, but you're never going to keep it perfect.
My suggestion to OP, just roll with it bro.

thank you bro for your opinion, I take care my note like a baby and every technic lover wants perfect phone, yes I wouldn't take care if I drop my phone, but actually I don't know how this scratch appears and one thing, when it vibrates it has horrible sound, I think that if I bring to service center I have not got any chances...

If a hardware manufacturer can void a warranty for physical external faults all because of the software you use. Sounds to me that your countries laws need a little poking.
Here in Australia, root or no root, we would get it repaired under warranty.
Actually, talking about bezel, my bezel developed a crack under the volume rocker, never dropped and always in a case, my Note should be perfect, but it appears the mechanical use of the volume control has somehow damaged the bezel. Poor design? I know my local retailer will get it fixed (they told me they will), I just don't want to be without my phone for 2 weeks, will get my spare Note1 (loaned out) back soon and then the Note3 can go to the doctors.
