[Q] TWRP recovery is asking for password - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

TWRP recovery is asking password , can't wipe data, factory reset, flash stock rom. Can anyone help me?:crying:

Have you installed Twrp manually? Because maybe you flashed a wrong version to your phone recently. Have you updated Twrp before the password appeared?

Flashify recovery install

I've installed twrp via Flashify and i'm ready to start flashing rooms, but i'm wondering what kind of limitations I have in terms of kernels and whatnot?
I know that with Loki it eliminates the need to unlock the bootloader, but being that I didn't pushing using adb and just used Flashify will I face any problems flashing any roms like CM or carbon?
Thanks!

Nope. Flash away, your fine.
Support your Devs......
Thanks a bunch lads, I wasn't sure if I was gonna be able to or not so you've made this phone infinitely better than my xperia zl from before. I was i love with thing but now this G2 is the full package for me.
This has been the easiest root and recovery install ever, easier than a nexus lol!
All I need now is the premium pack for LG G2 xposed pack and i'm all set.
I'm well aware it's only $0.99 but i'm literally that broke until pay day hahaha

Is this normal... Btw the first time flashing I disabled don't want to click on no just in case of a brick so want to know what's the message is about...

I have been trying to flash CM11 to my G2(Tmo) but the problem I am running into is that no matter what tut I follow I end up with the same result. Fail. I have attached a pic of my screen if that helps. I have TWRP v2.6.3.2 installed and everything but install runs fine. The error that comes up on the install screen is "E:Error executing updater binary in zip '.........'. I am a noob to flashing/roms sorry If more information is needed just let me know.
Thanks.

To flash CM11 and most kitkat roms, you'll need to update TWRP. The most up-to-date version for the D801 (T-Mobile G2) is v2.6.3.5, which can be found in the CMB thread under G2 Android Development (T-Mobile): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2568732 . The update is a flashable zip, so download it to your phone, reboot to recovery, and install it using your existing TWRP. After a reboot into recovery you should be updated, and you should be able to flash CM11.
thanks

[Q] Flash 5.1

Hello guys!
My Nexus 4 is running PA 5 Alpha 2, rooted and custom kernel of course.
I got the .zip file of the 5.1 OTA.
How should I flash it?
How did you flash PA in the first place? Just follow the same steps. You should flash it with a custom recovery e.g. TWRP.

You can't flash the ota in a custom recovery. You have to sideload it in the stock recovery. You have to be 100% stock system, kernel and recovery.

I guess I was using the wrong version of twrp. When downloading the recovery from that website everything worked fine.
I've got this same problem, but flashing that universal TWRP build didn't work :/
Flash codeworkx twrp 8.0 version. The official twrp, has this issue with oreo builds.
