Okay I flashed Blackhole and worked fine then I went to clean and now I'm still on Blackhole with FCs all over the place. I'm new to the Facsinate.
Try wiping data in recovery. That should get rid of the fc's.

Did that a few times just in case. It still sends me back to Blackhole with FCs. I can't move without a fc can't even get passed the language select lol.

Found a stock image for Odin. If this works I'm really dumb and sorry for wasting your time lol... I'd just like to know what happened to make it FC like crazy so I learn from my mistake.
Hope that will work - usually its not good to flash a ROM over another one without wiping data and cache first. That could be why you're having issues. Odin should do the trick though to get you back to stock.

Okay back to stock but still getting FCs like crazy. Now I'm gonna whipe again and see.
Seems like every app is force closing as soon as I unlock the screen. Including TWLAUNCHER
I installed the Voodoo kernal right before this all started happening.

You must uninstall Voodoo before you flash anything new or create a backup. Go to the development section to the "how to remove voodoo" sticky, Download the uninstaller and follow directions.

[Solved] Need some help..
I want to get my ATT galaxy s4 back to stock. I searched for a lot online. Basically it needs Odin and a downloaded stock firmware.
My question is does it work even for my phone currently is CWRP recovery and custom rom flashed? Does the Odin flash the stock recovery to the phone?
Thank you so much!

So it can remove the TWRP and flash stock recovery automatically by ODIN, right?

heh we cool, um, it does not remove the recovery, but a hint here, odin back to stock, go into recovery after and factory reset. If you are wanting to remove everything including recovery, there is a thread or 2 with info on that.
Good luck.

Thank you very much! Still have a question..After I go to recovery and factory reset, can I get OTA update?
since the OTA update would check for system integrity like recovery.

I have heard different stories on that, the one that I think is if you are rooted and recovery installed, your status would show custom, so no updates.
Anyone have any input on this?

Hello,Sir~ Thanks for advice!
Do you have any idea about the boot unlock image with word "custom"? I found something online saying that even if you flashed a stock firmware
by Odin and reset factory in recovery, it could be still there and probably related to some files be signed or not by samsung.. Any suggestion?

There is a way to get that to read normal, but you must first get back to stock. Start there, and we will get the other taken care of.

You can find more about the process by reading this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261573
If you want to be 100% stock like you were out of the box, you can do a factory reset/wipe in TWRP and then ODIN back to stock.
Factory reset will wipe all of your data - some of which is causing the custom icon at boot. You can wipe the cache and davlik cache as well to be sure.
Next, ODIN will remove root and custom recovery afterwards, leaving you completely stock.
My understand is that if you don't want to wipe all your apps and data, you can ODIN back to stock and then manually remove the files that are causing the custom icon, but I have not tried that.

Yes, use Odin. I assume you have an i337 and you don't have mf3 installed. Get the mdl stock firmware from sammobile.com. You'll have to register but its free. You'll download a zip file. Use 7-zip to extract the .tar.md5 file. Use that file in Odin, PDA. Only have auto-reboot and f.reset checked in Odin. That will install the stock firmware and recovery on your phone.
Edit, a word of caution. As of now, there is no way to reverse your decision of wanting the mf3 update. Once you update you will not be able to put a custom Rom or recovery on your phone. There is limited benefit, my opinion no benefit, to the up grade. Yes you can put apps on your ad card, but only the apps and not the data do you don't save much space. It also take about a gig of additional space just for the update.
so it will be as if you just took it out of the box brand new, right? I don't want any files from twrp or anything to stay on the phone. I accidentally factory restored one time when rooted.... then after starting up the "new" device, the setup worked until one step which didn't allow me to surpass it... i used Odin and followed a youtube vídeo to unroot. also, will it restore my SD card...? if I take out the SD, will it be readable after I put it back in after the startup of the "new" device? thanks. and lastly, does it matter if ive freezes any apps via titanium backup? I've freezed the att updater so the update wouldn't remove root. thanks for your help guys. (yes I'm using the att i337 model.)

It will not factory reset your phone, it will simply reinstall stock firmware, stock recovery and rom. You'll have to factory reset once youre done to wipe everything

Odin will over write any of your frozen files you froze to avoid the upgrade. Factory reset will also delete your apps. Any pics, music, etc will not be deleted.
And yes to your sd card, it should still be readable. Odin shouldn't touch the external card.

It will delete twrp and put the stock recovery on. There is always a chance of a brick when you flash. If you do flash it it'll probably take 10 to 20 minutes so let it do it's thing. Don't panic and unplug anything. Time goes by real show while you're waiting. I just flashed Odin today on my device and it seemed to take forever.

understand that you will likely have to boot into stock recovery and factory reset after the odin flash in order to boot past the samsung splash screen.
I would like to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart. I'm back on stock everything, unrooted. I want to remove bloatware first though. Sounds like you have a stock recovery installed so you can't flash anything. If you are on the MDL firmware install a custom recovery from Goo Manager. If you are on MF3 you can't install a custom recovery and can't flash anything.
From MF3 you can copy and paste from a root level file explorer. Use extreme caution since there is no firmware available to flash with Odin should you get yourself in trouble.
I'm sorryi have no coy how to get a custom recovery. . Do I need me computer to get a new custom recovery? What is the mdl and mf3? Sorry im new to all this stuff
I suggest finding out what firmware you have first, then reading as much as possible about custom recoveries and the like.

Jeezus! Does no one listen to me? OP has not even specified what firmware he is on... That could lead to a bricked phone. There is more important stuff to figure out first. So I've had this problem for a while and I think at one point I knew what the issue was, but things came up and I guess I lost my place. I have a GS4 running 4.3 on AT&T, but if I recall correctly it took a long time (longer than it was supposed to in US) for even that update to become available to me. I'm not sure if this phone is set as a different country or something, but I seem to think that had something to do with it when I checked last time. Now when I check for updates, it does say I have an available update (KitKat?) but fails when attempting to update. Download is successful, but install is not. Baseband is I337ucuemk2 if that helps anything. Any help here would be appreciated, thanks.
Install is failing as some of the files it is trying to update has been modified. You would have to be on stock for the update to work.
Remember that there is no direct root method for KitKat yet.

Edit, I should have read closer. I think there is an update.zip file you could flash in the general forum. I'll look and see if I can find it.

Ok cool, thanks again...however now another issue. I've tried several times, I can not boot into recovery. Any time I try to the phone just goes black until I let go and then reboots. Even if I get the blue print in the top left, the phone does not boot into recovery. Any idea why this would be?

If you can get into download mode you may be better off flashing the md5 and Odin. Don't know why you can't get into recovery

Me either, guess I'd just flash normally like I would a rom? Or would an update be different. I haven't done this in a while.

If you flash the tar in Odin it's going to wipe your device so backup what you can. You'll need to download the tar file to your pc and download Odin to it too if you don't already have it. You run Odin from the pc

Ok so I finally got into recovery, but am I supposed to rename the file or anything? It keeps telling me:
"-- Verify the file type of MD5, Before Install /sdcard ...
-- Install /sdcard"

Are you trying to flash the update.zip? I'd re-download it. It could be a bad download

So... pretty unhappy. Downloaded the update.zip and flashed in stock recovery, it wiped my whole phone and still didn't update. I saw a couple error messages appear as it was "updating" so now I'm still on old firmware and lost everything on my phone. Luckily I did a Kies backup but still pretty ridiculous. I still lose all save data from apps and all convenience that there was from using my phone for as long as I did. Just wanted to update, shouldn't be this big of a mess. Not sure what to do next.

Well that sucks. No idea how it works wipe you're device. It shouldn't touch the userdata. If it's truly wiped I'd Odin the nb1 tar at this point. Get it updated and start over

That's what I did and I'm finally updated, but pretty disappointed that it took all that just for an update. Hopefully things like that don't continue in future updates...
