I recently tried to unroot my Telus S4 and it is now showing firmware from the Bell device version and has the Bell applications built into the software. I have downloaded the firmware several times from samsung-updates and samfirmware for the correct Telus phone, but once the process is done through Odin it still has the applications etc built in. Even when I connect the device into Kies it says BMC under firmware instead of TLS. I have factory reset the device and cache over and over again. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Type in only the first 15 digits of your IMEI (don't enter the two digits after the / ). That should do it.

What was the source of it? OTA/official update? If so, and if you did not rooted your phone - go to provider/service.
Most likely, your efs partition is screwed up. If you do not have backup - poor chances for restoring it.

OTA = off the air, so you have the official ROM. In rare cases, efs can be damaged by that. Call nearest Sammy Service Center.
No solution so far !! Need help guys
Hi, my mate bought an region unlocked N9005 from Bahrain. He turned it on without a SIM card and it fruit-looped.
A factory restore with an inserted local SIM started it up but it refused to connect to the network, always asking for the unlock code.
I have updated it to 4.4.2 with Kies and CF-Rooted it with Odin 3.09, then installed RegionLock Away.
If I insert my 3 SIM, I can scan the networks but it fails to register on the 3 UK network.
So, I thought about buying an unlock code.
I type in the *#06# to pull up the IMEI and get 0000000000000/01
Can anyone help? My buddy is furious, paid cash in a reputable shop to buy a legitimate phone from a brand leader and it's just a wifi tablet!

Try flashing stock. That may help restore your efs/imei, it that doesn't then you will probably not be able to fix that issue.

Hi,
Let me explain
EFS file -> efs.tar => BTID WiFiID Serial Number and passwords
EFS12 -> efs12.tar -> different location of memory -> IMEI, Cal data + SIM lock
As you can see EFS.tar never will fix the imei issues and also never will unlock you phone.
Hi all, I have a problem with 3g.
I bought s4 i9505 and it was on 4.2, I had problem with slow internet, so I called operator and they told me to turn on WCDMA only in settings..
When i turn WCDMA only on, it loose my network (emergency calls only), and i have no network at all.. when i put wcdma/gsm automaticly it has normal network..
So i thought its problem in firmware, so today i fleshed 4.4.2 with odin.
Now i have same problem, no network with wcdma only..
I serached internet and i tried several programs for 3g, but nothing worked.. any solution ? thx

Might be a corrupted EFS folder.
I have had the same problem for 3 weeks now. I've tried searching for a solution here and in other online sites to no avail. I personally tried flashing a new stock rom, flashed some odd number of modems, tried factory resetting etc. Nothing worked. I'm afraid it might be due to corrupted EFS folder which I still don't know how to repair.

i installed custom rom and still have no 3g ? solution any1 ???
recently my samsung galaxy s 4 on the carrier US Cellular and running the stock android version 4.4.2 has stopped communicating with 4g lte. It will show that there is a 4 g lte connection but will not connect to facebook messanger or do anything internet related. It will occasionally drop to 3g and work fine or drop connection all together.
In my attempts and large amount of research to fix this problem i have done the following:
1. Turned on and off airplane mode
2 restarted the phone
3. Replaced SIM card with a new one
4. Factory reset my phone
5. Erased application cache in the recovery mode
6. I have also tried to change the network mode and yes mobile data is turned on.
Please help. Us cellular is just telling me to buy a new phone that i cant afford because they dont know whats wrong and samsung is saying the same thing. ***Also it is not a rooted phone*****
Dial *#1234# and tell me what appears with details pls.
I attempted to type that in and nothing happens. I have tried other codes as well and same result.
Install Phone Info from the Play Store and run it. Tell us the AP, CP, and CSC of the phone.

The original samsung firmware doesn't seem to recognize some of those USSD codes. That's why nothing happens.
@GDReaper: *#1234# is one of the codes that does work in the Samsung dialer. US Cellular has blocked access to that information, which is why it's not working for him.

Hi all,
I'm trying to get a network connect but with no effort. When I choose "mobile providers" within settings the phone searches a while automatically but it won't find any carrier to connect with.
The phone is rooted and I tried the following things last week:
- another simcard, same result
- regionlock away.apk
- cyanogen rom 12.1
- another stock rom based on different csc
I attached some screenshots from phone info -samsung-. The IMEI is still valid and I think there's no corrupt efs folder at all.
Can someone help me please?
cheers,
michel

Thank you for responding! I checked IMEI with some free IMEI checker and got the result "clean" every time. But I took only free IMEI checker and I assume that they check it only against US/CDN databases and not europe ones.
Maybe some paid checker can prove it more reliable!?
