(HELP)Galaxy S4 I-9500 NO SIM

Hello, I am using galaxy s4-I9500 non rooted. I was on vacation when I came back and switched on my phone it shows "Insert SIM card to access network services"...I tried checking my sim card on other phone and it works well I tried inserting different sim cards but none worked. After googling lot I checked my imei it is "NULL" and baseband is "unavailable" .. Kindly suggest me what should I do. I never rooted my phone before.
I tried factory reset
Inserting different sim
Draining battery charging it back and using.
Flashing with factory ROM through ODIN.
Prompt reply is highly appreciated.

You must to go to your provider or the shop when you baught your S4 and change the sim reader

I thought that earlier but what hardware has to do with IMEI and baseband unavailable?
2nd my phone is factory unlocked..

What was the source of it? OTA/official update? If so, and if you did not rooted your phone - go to provider/service.
Most likely, your efs partition is screwed up. If you do not have backup - poor chances for restoring it.

Sorry, what do you mean source of it? I usually update my phone over the air by official samsung updated.. All i read is efs partition is screwed only if you root but i never tried to root my phone..

OTA = off the air, so you have the official ROM. In rare cases, efs can be damaged by that. Call nearest Sammy Service Center.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Note 3 sm-n900 fully unlocked how?

Hi,
I just wanna know what happened to my phone. It is a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 sm-n900 from Saudi Arabia, and brought back here in the Philippines still unaware of the region lock thingy and voila! yes it did....
i tried a custom ROM to unlock it and yes it did!...but if wifi is turned on it would be stuck on the "turning on" message. and another problem is that i ddnt backed up my efs files so it messed up my IMEI. Now my current IMEI was the same with the original but since it was rewritten it is not valid so I cant make a phone call or text message together with the wifi problem. so flashed the stock ROM back...and rooted it with odin and installed root explorer. i have read a thread here that if you delete the efs folder the os will give you a generic IMEI , unexpectedly my phone was fixed!...and on the lock screen it has two date and time one says roaming and another is home....but im using local sim not from the region where the phone was locked.....
I really dont know what happed??? can someone tell me?...what just i did? the phone is working the way it should i mean no problem at all!
but my IMEI was generic the one with and my sn is also changed

there is a setting for lockscreen time where you can have 2 timezones,just go into the settings and turn it off.

ok sir thnx...so whats unclear to me is how did i fixed my phone?...i just deleted that efs file and then the phone just became normal...without the region lock...

Maybe u should remove ur imei from here

I'm having the same issue but I took my AT&T Samsung galaxy note3 to an person on craigslist to unlock it "just unlock it" not change my imei number for I could use it with Metro Pcs. It works when it wants to I always have to turn it off and turn it on to get signal. It's a pain in the head. My question is you think I could recover my original imei number back? Your help is very appreciated LOTS!!! Thanks Sir....

N9005 can't connect to network / no signal at all

Hi all,
I'm trying to get a network connect but with no effort. When I choose "mobile providers" within settings the phone searches a while automatically but it won't find any carrier to connect with.
The phone is rooted and I tried the following things last week:
- another simcard, same result
- regionlock away.apk
- cyanogen rom 12.1
- another stock rom based on different csc
I attached some screenshots from phone info -samsung-. The IMEI is still valid and I think there's no corrupt efs folder at all.
Can someone help me please?

Thank you for responding! I checked IMEI with some free IMEI checker and got the result "clean" every time. But I took only free IMEI checker and I assume that they check it only against US/CDN databases and not europe ones.
Maybe some paid checker can prove it more reliable!?

Does somebody has an idea how to fix this?

Galaxy A5 2017 SM-A520F - root/IMEI problem/question

Hello all,
Ok let me tell you what happened first.
In March I bought said phone on ebay from a guy which seemed a legit person, 150 or so reviews, a lot of stuff sold, positive reviews etc.
For the past 6 month everything worked fine and i used the phone in the UK on EE (phone is locked to EE) without problems.
on Saturday the phone suddenly has been not geting any signal so I did some invetigations and it turns out the guy who sold the phone is on contract with EE with the phone and did an insurance claim as lost or stolen.
So now the phone has been Blacklisted and i cant use it anymore, to make calls etc on any network.
I tried to get Info from |EE, Ebay etc but with no luck.
I did some research and found that i can change the IMEI number to make the phone work again.
So I must say first up that I dont have a clue from rooting or any modyfing stuff with phones apart from the normal ANdroid things.
So I did some research and after misserably failing to root the phone myself, I got a company "one click root" to succesfully got my phone rooted.
Now I tried the options to change the IMEI number but none of them works:
"ok i cant post outside links:
the 2 versions to change IMEI which i found and tried are : with xposed and imeichanger app, and also one where you have to dial a number which opens radio frequenzy and then another number where you can change IMEI number
this does not work because the xposed framework is not compatible with this phone (yet)
this does not work as i dont have signal and the "call" does not go through.
thats the only thing I found and i thought as a last resort I try my luck here if anyone knows of a different way tho change the IMEI number for this phone apart from the 2 options above before i go and spend another 350£ for a new phone (this time from a shop )

I have the same problem but my IMEI is not blacklisted but my IMEI is 0 after to try to flash back to stock

The box is in Germany not available so I can't buy it and on stock rom the phone have the 0 IMEI too

I take it this means you didn't create that all important backup before modding your device? :silly:
Try downgrading the firmware first then flash the latest updated firmware

Right I have no efs backup and that I have already made but my IMEI is still 0

I have an issue with My SM-A520F. I bought it to a particular and according to the initial network provider, this person stop to pay his subscription.
So, I'm looking for solution to change IMEI for this model. I think the nv_data.bin is encrypted. Perhaps if I change the nv_data.bin(whith the corresponding nv_data.bin.md5) with another which not blocked in my country it will work. So, if someone want to exchange his nv_data.

Hi Xposed and IMEI changer will not help you. If you want I can explain you how to install it on this phone. But the IMEI changed by IMEI changer with xposed framwork is not the IMEI sent to the network provider. The IMEI changed by this app is used to mask your IMEI to the apps that track you by using the IMEI. So it's just a spoof of the IMEI for apps using IMEI and not a really IMEI change.

imei changing or certication not suported by z3x till now

Anyone found out any solution? I just got screwed on Gumtree. The guy showed me it was on 3 but when I came home it wouldn't register any sim. Imei unknown. Baseband unknown. Tried flashing firmware no luck

Backup the EFS with TWRP then delete the EFS folder. The EFS should rebuild and give a default IMEI when the devices reboots or try deleting NV_DATA.bin, NV_DATA.bin.md5, it should get replaced by NV_DATA.BAK.bin if it's any good.
You can also attempt to Format and remount the EFS partition. It works for some devices.

But in my case i rakon the guy reported the device lost and got blacklisted. Would your method still work?

Guess not in that situation, but you may be able to delete the EFS and enable the default Imei.

9505 Network lock but it's factory-free

Good evening friends, I have a question about a problem that I have not been able to solve. My S4 version 9505 is free from factory and so it has been for 10 months (I bought it used and that's what they told me) and suddenly in a normal restart it gave me a screen before the launcher that says Unblock or continue ... after that It says that I have a simcard with network blocking. Use Lineage 14.1 and go back to lollipop 5.0.1 stock to see if that solved it but it was not like that. I have imei intact but it is blocked by network.
i would be grateful to who can help me

You can try to unlock it by flashing a 4.2.2 mode, root, run regionlockaway, flash stock 5.01 ROM, and see if the phone is network unlocked.

Your phone is not locked, the SIM card is. Have you set up a pin for the SIM card and forgotten?.....Try another SIM card in the phone to check.

The message that appears on the original post is the same screen I received with my locked sgh-i337m before I unlocked it using regionlockaway.

I did it exactly like that, but it did not work

Not sure why it didn't work since other XDA members have had success with the method I outlined.

imei null when flashing modem I9505_XXUAME2_MODEM.tar
I had to flash a stock ROM again and the imei was recovered, but I still have network blocking

The IMEI goes null because you are flashing a 4.2.2 modem onto a phone with a 5.01 bootloader and flashing the latest modem will restore the imei.
If you followed the steps I outlined and the phone is still network locked, you will need to buy and unlock code.

I'm sorry I had not been able to answer for days.
I could unlock the phone as follows: Install via ODIN I9505XXSHQB1_I9505OLBHOH1_I9505XXSHQB1_HOME.tar then install the modem: I9505DVUAMD8_MODEM.tar, then root, and use Galaxy Unlock app.
I thank all those who helped me here and took the trouble to answer my post.
