No GSM Signal/Emergency Calls Only - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I did the hack with RadioComm, which was successful, yet there's still no signal with T-Mobile or Mobile.me sim cards. When I do a search with RadioComm again for 8322 it can't find it.
I've tried factory reset, airplane mode on/off, GSM/UMTS mode and manual network search to no avail.
Is the radio broken?

when you did the search did you boot into factory mode before you searched?

yeah. turns out the 00 edit didnt stick and I had to do it like 10 times until it stuck. What may have did it for me was checking it immediately after writing and then pulling the cable before manually restarting. who knows.
works fine now.

[Q] Us cellular s4 Diag Mode

I am going nuts trying to figure this out. I got my phone into DM mode and was able to connect DFS and CDMA WS to it and then all of a sudden it no longer is able to be read. I have done just about everything I can think of to get it working including a rtn reset and clearing efs on the phone. Nothing seems to want to kick it back into a usable DM mode.....
Anyone care to help me??

*#7284# click modem i believe (you might have to toggle to pda later)
After you do that part this is what you do.
As long as the hidden menu is enabled
press *#0808#
this will bring up a menu kinda like the s3. Under usb settings change it to
dm+modem+adb
you'll get 2 serial and modem ports. Toggle the pda and modem back and forth and it should read. *now just need someone to find the 16 digit passcode and we're all in there!
Hope this helps!

[Q] Nexus 4 cant detect network

Hi guys, need some help here. I woke up this morning with my nexus 4's battery flat and so i went to charge it and turned it on while it's charging. However it couldnt detect any network and it's stuck at emergency calls only. I tried rebooting several times to no avail. I also did a factory reset but its still stuck at emergency calls only. Im on 4.4.2 stock, bootloader locked. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Dial *#06#. Is your IMEI still correct? Try turning it off removing and reinserting the sim card. It could also just be issues with your network.

nv edit help

So I had issues with my phone not long after updating to 4.4.2 using the houseofmoto method (about a month or two) phone was randomly rebooting itself so I flashed 4.4.2 back onto my phone after unlocking the bootloader. Now I can't seem to get the NV edit to work to get gsm unlocked for use in the US. Any help would be appreciated. I've tried the cdma ws method and both of the radiocomm methods with no luck. pretty sure I'm doing something wrong.

Are you booting into Fastboot mode, and then from there rebooting into Factory mode, before attempting the edit? Also, are you letting the phone sit for about five minutes or so after the edit before rebooting?
Edit: you may get better luck with responses if you post directly in the GSM unlock threads, as there are already lots of people subscribed to those threads.
In the past I've just booted directly to BP Tools mode and both of the how to guides say to boot into bp tools mode but I shall give your boot options a try.
The CDMA Workshop method requires booting into BP Tools, but the RadioComm method requires booting into Factory mode.
I haven't tried the CDMA WS method, but the RadioComm method worked fine for me. In the introductory post, he mentions BP Tools, but only to say that it doesn't work with RadioComm, and that you need to boot into Factory mode instead.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2166542
got it working using the cdma ws method. selected ap fastboot then rebooted to boot menu selected bp tools mode reapplied the edit and is now working.
If it helps, here's the bit I was referencing from the intro post in the RadioComm thread. I highlighted the relevant bits in red.

That method requires booting into BP Tools mode from the boot menu and loading the Qualcomm diagnostic device interfaces.
The problem is that there are no signed 64bit drivers available and you must force load the drivers on Win7/8 64 bit for the diagnostic port in order to see the device properly and have NV read/write access.
This has been a stumbling block for many users and makes the NV editing unnecessarily difficult.
This method uses Factory boot mode and allows RadioComm to have full diagnostic mode access via the Motorola USB Networking driver that loads normally with the standard USB driver set. I will demonstrate 2 different ways to perform the edit, one manual and one using a preconfigured SEEM table file that writes the value in a single operation.

Glad you got it working though!

Galaxy S5 G900W8 Cyanongen 14 dec 15 nightly klte phone wont process carrier unlock.

basic desc in the title.
I'm tring to perform a carrier unlock. I have the proper code for my IMEI but the auto screen just stays endlessly stuck saying Registering Sim network unlock... it doesn't error confirm reject nothing. resetting and toggling airplane mode do nothing. I've tried unlocking from the dial pad but it just says mobile networks not available.
I'm moving from rogers to telus Rogers sim card works fine, anything else seems to not work.
In the setting menu I can see various network providers, but I cannot manually connect to one.
It's been giving me difficulty putting stock rom back on but as I understand it the rooted OS shouldn't be preventing the unlock.
please send help.
Can it be cured with fire?

Lost Fastboot??!!

Ok.....so after my other issues i have posted here in this thread...which still appears to be unanswered.....
https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/help/modem-issue-t3917268
I have noticed that i do not have fastboot!!! i cannot get to it neither through Axon7Toolkit, not through ADB, and neither through the black warning screen if i hold Volume (-) and select "fastboot", the phone just boots on to the system. I have done EDL flashes through the djkuz's app and it doesn't seem to do anything really, as my computer recognizes just as before and with adb permissions not needed. I though the EDL flash formats data as well........
Do I have a partition missing???? If so, how can I restore it? what is a sure cut way to return as if to stock truly like purchased from ZTE themselves??
Any help guys would be much appreciated

Fastboot functionality is gone after stock B19.
If you want fastboot, you're going to have to EDL flash B19 Chinese firmware, that's the only one that has fastboot afaik. You're not missing a partition, the phone rebooting to system after selecting fastboot is normal.

Hey thanks for that for that answer. I was hoping that was the smoking gun.......So if you don't mind.....if you know....I pretty sure it was discussed here somewhere......what exactly is the "vendor" partition? That to me is a bit new as I do that recall that being a "common" partition as like modem, or recovery etc....there's got to be something missing that is not letting my phone get signal anymore...I can pop my SIM card in and it'll receive a message that I have "voicemail" if I have one that's still new, but it won't get service......I know for sure it has to be something software related.........

Are you 100% sure it's not a hardware problem? The phone not getting signal anymore can be due to many reasons.
Check the SIM card, make sure it's not defective. Try inserting it into another phone and check if it works. If it works in the other phone, then you've ruled out the SIM card.
Check the SIM card slot, make sure no pins are bent or broken. Check that the SIM card goes into the phone correctly, and if you've previously opened up the phone then check if there's any internal damage.
If you believe it's a software problem, try these:
Try resetting the APN (Settings>Network & Internet>Mobile Network>Access Point Names), or manually retype your APN (You can find this by googling for your carrier's apn eg; TMobile APN).
Check that your IMEI is still good, you can do this by inserting the SIM and heading to the Dialer, and typing *#06#
Check that your IMEI still shows up and make sure it doesn't show Null.
Go into your Dialer again and type
*#*#4636#*#*
It will bring up a menu, click on Run Ping Test and check if your phone shows Connected.
