Hey guys
Not sure where to post this but I figured the Defy forum would be the closest match.
My issue is with a Defy Pro XT560 that has a non functional key on the keyboard.
Does anyone have access to a service manual or teardown for this phone? Its waterproof and doesn't seem obvious how to disassemble it.
Do you guys know if theres a way to order a replacement keyboard from Motorola? or maybe a way to fix a non functional key on the keyboard? I believe this phone is not eligible for their mail out warranty repair.
Any help would be very appreciated!

I think DIY is a daunting project.
I do remember that when 8125's first came out there were a lot of reports of faulty keyboards. I would certainly go back to your eBay seller if I could.
There is a parts and repair company that can probably fix this but it's not cheap: http://www.pocketpctechs.com/main~u...rs-full+service+repairs~action~updateunit.htm
Hi all,
I have received my new HTC touch dual, and it has a hardware problem. The number 2 button (it is the 16 key version) is not working properly as the others are. It is very unresponsive, and does not make a clicking sound like the others should. What can I do to fix this? and how?
I am a n00b when it come to this sort of thing, so with every reply can you give some sort of explanation of how I can do it.
The phone is brand new, but I bought it from ebay as it was a sellers unwanted upgrade. So, I won't be able to just get another one from my network provider.
Help me please
There is tho ways
1)Service Center
2)Disassemble and fix by yourself. It's not hard.
But be careful with cables - it's easy to break it - so do not use a force

Thanks for replying.
1. What is a service center and where do I find one in the UK?
2. Once is has been disassembled what will I have to do?
1)HTC official service or trusted partner, but for you phone it wouldnt be free.
2)Check why button does not make a clicking. And fix it, if possible

Hi all,
I've got a completely ruined Xperia over here. The volume keys are missing but the buttons still work only you need a pencil to use it. There is a little crack in the screen (sort of crack) but touchscreen and screen itself are still working. Everything else is working except the keyboard is acting weird you need to press a few keys to get something working. I thought maybe there's some dev that want to have it to develop and test things before breaking his own device. Or that might be some people that need parts of it! Well i would like to hear from you! If you want some pictures ask me and ill share it with you. I can send it to you but the shipping costs are for the buyer. I can also disassemble it for you if you only want a few parts.
Greets,
Wouter
I am no dev (wish i were) but i do have a dead Xperia X1 that would probably work if i replaced its mainboard and ribbon cable. Im in the US.

Hey guys so the other day the power switch broke off inside my tablet! so i took it apart to see if I could repair it. But the prongs broke off right at the base of the switch! So I was wondering if anyone knew what switch they used so I could maybe buy a new one? or my other option was to buy a tablet off ebay that has a broken screen and replace the motherboard. But I found some that are in perfect condition but have a password from the previous user. and i was thinking that maybe I could do a factory data reset? If that possible i think i saw a post yesterday on how you can do it without custom recovery just want to know what yall think! THANKS
I've had this problem...looked on digikey database but couldn't find a replacement. you could add a external flat button but I find it hard to believe that you will find the OEM replacement easy... maybe posting on HW forum will help. Anyway, let us know if you find a replacement.
Hello everyone, im just so damn happy with my droid pro with CM7.. its just sweet... buuuuuuuuut........
Well my sifi signal is too low, i dont know what is this, i have tested in everyway that its not a software malfunction or anything firmware related, so today i went to my local repair guys, and they tried to put an extention on the antenna ( or so they told me).. but it didnt helped.. after that they told me that one module in the mainboard that boosts the signal may be damaged and that they couldnt change it cause the part isnt sold as a spare part.
What can i do, please im begging you i dont want to get rid of the phone just cause of this..
Any suggestions?
Oh and before anyone tells me to send it to motorola.. well they told me they dont take care of this device anymore, and if they do they would have to change the whole mainboard and that costs the same as the phone itself.
PLEASE HELP....
Was it poor before changing to CM7? If it is a component issue, there's nothing you can do about it short of replacing the mainboard (maybe get a used Pro on eBay, they're around $30-40). My Pro has pretty poor WiFi performance relative to my other devices (laptops/KFHD).
