Profile Manager with support for MS Voice Command

I don't know about all of you, but i've setup my VC 1.6 to call out names when the phone rings and to read messages as and when they arrive. I love that it can do all those things.
Problem: Sometimes when i'm in the vicinity of a lot of people it's undesireable for VC to start reading out stuff, especially when you get a dirty joke, or when you don't want the person sitting next to you to know who is calling.
In such instances, I'd like my phone to ring and give me an audible alert for messaging services, but not have them read out. The only way I can avoid this is by going into VC options and disabling the ANNOUNCEMENT feature or put the phone in Silent Mode.
I was wondering if there is any Profile Manager with support for VC 1.6 wherein I can adjust profiles to either include or exclude the VC Announcements without having to turn off the audible ringer.

WinMobileApps Phone Profiles v2.0(http://www.winmobileapps.com/device/pocketpc/pwm/pwm.aspx) allows you to set System Volume, Ring Volume, and Phone Speaker volume separately for each profile - that might be all you need. But it also can run a program command line, so if you can turn the ANNOUNCEMENT feature on and off with a command line parameter then that could accomplish what you want in a really slick fashion.
Unfortunately you only get 2 active profiles in the demo version - to get all 9 profiles activated you have to purchase. It costs 14.95 Euros, which I think is a little steep for a small program, compared for example with PocketZenPhone which is only 8 Euros - but this is also the only program I've seen that can toggle Bluetooth and WiFi as well.
As it happens, I have been doing a lot of hunting lately, looking for the best phone profile program for my needs. I looked at 1) version 1.2 of Phone Profiles (which you can get for free from MoDaCo still - any other Google search for v1.2 takes you to WinMobileApps.com, where you can now only get v2.0) - nice one line today insert, works well with D-Pad, but can't control System Volume and Ring Volume separately and doesn't have Wi-Fi toggle; 2) cs[1].PhoneProfiles; 3) PocketZenPhone; 4) Phone Profiles v2.0 which I've described above - and I think is the best.

Yeah, I personally use Phone Profiles. I think it's the best out there. Light and easy.
Guess I now need to find command line parameters to disable and enable Voice Command Announcements.
Hope somebody here can throw some light on the subject.

How to stop the increasing ringtone?

Is there a way to stop the "fade in" in the beginning of the ringtone. I do not like it's implementation. It is kind of too fast and the effect is annoying. I see no option for this anywhere.

If you set an mp3 as the ring tone, does it still do it, I don't think mine does :/

yes, I edit a mp3 in PC and copy in i9000 then set as ring-tone, I still behave the same, sad.......

it was on my omnia i900 too. The modding community managed to tweak it away, so its only a matter of time before you can get a small tweak to turn it off.
But I believe that Samsung made this a feature (i read it somewhere long ago) in that sometimes people have just finished a call and the phone is still next to the ear, they might receive another call (with the phone still next to their ear), with the fade in feature, the ringtone wont blast into the persons ear which can cause damage, instead it starts off low volume and then increases, allowing time for the phone to move away from the ear.

i like it how it is, what is so bad about the volume up per ring?
at most after the 4th ring it goes to voice mail, it doesn't get that annoying

its not really a problem indeed, but I will notice a call when I at street after the ring-tone finish fade-ing, it may be the 2tnd or 3th ring of the person who call in, after I pick the phone out of my bag and looking the information who call in, it may be the 4th or 5th ring then that person may think it is no body to answer or the system make it goes to voicemail............I miss the call...........

Like most things it's called choice. I prefer no increasing ring as well.

I'd like this gone too! The fading ringtone is irritating

This also is a problem to me.
I don't understand why Samsung doesn't make this an option for us to turn the feature on or off, not to mention configurable fade-in time.
The problem is here since, I don't know, i900, perhaps?

I would also like to see this disabled. Hopefully someone will find out how to do it soon!!

Sorry to bump this thread, but I'd really like this problem solved also. Obviously there's no clear option to change this, however does anyone know where we can start looking? (ie. certain config files or similar for rooted users.)

have you tried 3rd party ring tones apps
those have its own way of playing sounds when a calls comes in, some replaces the stock features.
try ring extend and ringo plus and many many more
android market is full of it

Thanks AllGamer, but I've tried many apps including Rings Extended, Ringo Lite and Zedge, but they just replace the ringtone picker. No matter which app I use, I always get increasing volume for incoming calls.
P.S.: I noticed something funny: I selected a ringtone from DoubleTwist playlist using Rings Extended. When I got an incoming call, I listened to a "hidden ringtone" which is similar to the digital phone ringtone. Probably Rings Extended failed to pick a mp3 from DoubleTwist and my phone used a "fallback ringtone" (such as the Nokia Tune when you remove an sd card with your ringtone). I think it's called "832" but I can't find it anywhere!

Sigh the increasing ringer is pretty lame.

Pause between rings

Hey all. Coming from a BB 6 months ago I still find new things about the Dinc that I love. Now that I'm rooted and running a custom ROM it's even better, but there is 1 thing that is Annoying the crap out of me. I want a professional sounding ring for when I'm those business environments, but this rings like its on steroids. Why is it that when I select the stock ringtone Standard 1, this thing constantly loops when I have an incoming call. I want something that rings like a normal phone (ring..pause..ring..pause..,etc.). Is there anyway to change that? I don't really want to go find an app to do it for me. I remember seeing a thread that you can go into the menu (## and a few numbers) and change the delay of the first ring, but can you do that to space the rings apart or create a pause? Can anyone help? Thanks.

Try this ringtone. It is a old phone sound but has a blank at the end to achieve what you want
You will need to rename it to .mp3 since I changed it to txt just so I could upload it

just asking whether or not there is a way for linking ringtone and/or Notification and/or System Volumes together, since it's really annoying having to set these 3 each time...

you could try ultimate sound control on google play

just as I thought it needs root, but no problem since Kingo...
but also not the thing I want. I heard that Google unified Ringtone and notify volumes and I want this too and MAYBE go a step further by putting System volume ion this unity too...

Moto voice response sounds

So I am pretty ecstatic over all with the performance of my Moto X pure, and a little impressed by the moto voice command function. I can access just about everything on the phone by voice alone, except there's one problem. Everytime the phone understands one of my commands, it responds with a very loud and obnoxious sounding "bloing!"
I can even tolerate the robotic voice of the Moto lady, who sounds like my 3rd grade teacher, but the response sound is just too much. Does anybody know what folder it is in so I can nuke it, or is there a way to turn that sound off.? I looked in the media files, and in the notification files, of both the phone and the SD card, looking for a matching sound but did not find it there. Any suggestions?

The response chime is connected to the media volume control. Keeping the media volume down has helped me a bit but it's still no fun. Also, I've noticed that it uses the old Google Now sounds so when I initiate a search it gives a loud "old GNow" confirmation then a more pleasant "new GNow" tone. If I could at very least do away with the double confirm, I'd be happy.

I wonder what would happen if we found the folder containing that sound and nuked the file.
do you know what the actual file name for that sound is?
Anybody here have a better idea?

My question is how else would you know the phone is responding to your commands. For example if your phone is across the room.

I don't know, every other function in android seems to have both visual, and audio option.
They could just have a flashing screen,, the problem is, when I want to use Moto X voice, that sound, is way louder, then most of the other confirmation sounds used in speech to text conversion. If you turn the media volume down, the female voice is reduced in volume along with the confirmation sound.
Or they could just have an option, like most of the other audio in android, that allows me to choose a sound.
Which brings me, to my quest. Or question
if it is a regular audio file, or a .ogg or MP3 or MP4, I should be allowed to go to the containing folder, and simply drop in an audio file of the same kind into that folder, right?
Anyway the "bloing" is annoying, has no individual volume control, and makes me look like less than the coolest kid on the block, which is what I so desperately crave, which is why I spent so much money to buy the coolest gear.

From previous experience, sometimes these sound files are inside the apk file itself. Really no way to change or get rid of it unless you start decompiling them, remove/add your own file. Samsung used to do it with their screen unlock sounds. Looked forever in folders and found nothing. One day while searching inside the apk, found it. Just a bit of help to maybe help your search
