So I received my OTA to MF9 but I keep getting this "E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip (Status 7)"
I am stock never rooted. I have hard reset it from the phone. I have reformatted using KIES. Still keep getting the same error.
I do NOT pay for Sprint's repair service so I don't think they will do anything for me.
My phone is unlocked for international use by Sprint.
Any ideas on what could be causing this? I tried using Samsung Chat support but didn't get any help from the rep who wasn't really listening to the issue
Call Samsung they will help you

I have a prejudice google nexus original one I tried vodafone EPF30
since the OTA update did not come to the nexus is one of Frøya
by check in the code or through manual update, but there was
nothing to do the upgrade in both cases is not aborted
I understand why.
through check-in download the update occurs smoothly,
but when it goes to install the toolbar update stops in the middle '
appears and the android with the triangle and exclamation point and then nothing
more.
however, if you carry some manual dell'update the error
shows:
E: cant't open / cache / recovery / command

Rename to passing.zip and load via bootloader. I dunno what derivative that one is, I assume the US one though.
Thank you I know because my Vodafone N1 and 'Italian works even if the steps on my device.
I remind you that my one and nexus' original mounts as the build EPF30.
Thank you

If you have rooted, then tried to un-root the phone and get the above error there is an easy Hardwire upgrade option without having to RSD to a lower firmware, then updating. If your OTA/SD card option doesnt work, go to the following Moto site to hardwire update. It takes about 25 minutes, but will work easily.

this link brings you to the motorola store... (just a heads up)
I was getting the same error when trying to update. After I went in and 'defrosted' everything - my unlocked Atrix updated without a problem.

by hardware do you mean via the SD card or the hard wire cable? You wanted to use the "Automated Update".
Before i get to the point of this thread here's some useful information you may want to know:
- I have a Nexus 7 3g (Tilapia) Device
- Bootloader is UNLOCKED
- Im ROOTED
- Im Running Stock Rom with Custom Kernel ( m-motley kernel (a36))
- I have Beats Audio Driver *root Installed - (I think this is the Problem But am not sure)
Ok so im trying to update my nexus 7 3g from 4.2.1 to 4.2.2. When i try flashing the official update zip using CWM v.6.0.2.3 i get an error during the installation saying:

So can anyone help me?

Yes.
You can help yourself.
Search for "Status 7" in this forum. Plenty of recent reports and solutions offered to the endless parade of people that think that OTAs are meant for updating customized (non-Stock) devices.
Bottom line is that the beginning of the trouble is listed in the very error message that you reported - that sometime between the time you rooted and now,
/system/lib/libSR_AudioIn.so
got modified or removed.
Note that there is NOT a single "Status 7" problem - there are hundreds of files (and the boot or "kernel" partition too!) which are checked for correctness before the OTA begins. If the OTA finds a problem with any of them, it bails out without having touched a single thing in your modified ROM. That also means that there could be more problems with your ROM (including use of a custom kernel) which will cause the OTA to fault out until they are corrected.
Anyhow, vast amounts of hot air have already been expended on this - use the forum's search feature, and start reading.
Well, I've been messing with this since yesterday. I was once rooted via Kingo, but unrooted it a few weeks back.
SUA:
Tried the Verizon SUA on my Windows 8.1 desktop and it failed multiple times in even finding the phone. It never showed up in the window.
Moved to a naked Win 7 laptop and after installing all drivers, it ran VZW SUA and again, didn't list phone in the SUA window.
After multiple attempts at each, the OTA update showed up.
Downloaded OTA without trouble, but but after displaying the installation screen, a black box showed up and automatically rebooted to the existing 4.2.2. That error message was:
ERR: 0x1117008
While attempting to do OTA again, I checked the status button on the notification window and see its current upgrade status there. Specifically:
Status
Name: LG_VS980_12B_TO_24A
Status: Update Failed
Code: 402
Date: 19 Apr, 2014 EDT
Time: 07:25:53 AM
Somewhere in another window, I did see the phone suggesting that it was still rooted. I ran RootChecker and it says otherwise, but I'm assuming that my Root/Unroot process removed something that the Verizon software package is looking for as a key to being rooted.
I'd gladly skip the OTA and just do a full package upgrade via the VZW SUA if I could in fact get that to make the phone and software upgrade appear in the window itself. Hope this detailed info helps me and others who may be having similar troubles.
Any insight on where to go next?
Bill
Did you delete anything off your phone with titanium backup or something? Any uninstalling of system apps?

I'm sure I pulled some bloatware at some point, but I wasn't too worried as all of it seemed to come back in after I did a hard reset.
Assume something like that is the problem, though. Thx.

BTW, if I did remove stiff it was probably with ROM Toolbox.

It's quite possible that could be the reason.

Have you tried manually doing a factory reset using kdz or tot method? I tried just choosing factory reset under settings on my phone and the OTA still did not work. I got it to work using the TOT method listed as a sticky in the LG G2 section. Once I went back to 12b stock with this method the OTA worked just fine. Try it and if you have problems give a holler. I get your frustration as I went through it too haha.

Are you running the Xposed framework? If so, uninstall from within the app and try again.
Not sure if your problem is the same as mine but when the OTA first appeared last week I had problems upgrading over wifi. I tried 3 times to install the OTA but all attempts failed (OTA downloaded successfully, phone reboots, and then the install fails with a similar error code). Switching off wifi and installing the OTA over 4G worked on the first try.

I'm having the EXACT same issue. KitKat update was failing on my Razr M so I used House of Moto to restore back to factory 4.1.2. Now when I click "system updates" all I get is the error "Check for Update is not available at this time. Try again later."
Someone help.
Anyone able to help
Has anyone figured out a solution to this issue? We need your help.
I called motorola support and gave them my IMEI and they said it was because I previously rooted that I wasn't getting the update and was getting the "update not available". I don't really believe that to be honest. They insisted it had nothing to do with their servers.
