My Nexus 10 had a slight bump (basically fell flat from a vertical upright position, that's all) and the LCD won't turn on. Screen responds to my touch (audible feedback). How can I test if my LCD screen is broken? Perhaps it's just the LCD cable. Can I do any testing with an electrical test meter?
Any suggestions?
Thanks

I have recently replaced a broken screen of an apache with a new one and when i turn it on the screen turns on and is white, when I look at it side on I can see the devices screen is working but it is faded, e.g the today screen is there but very faded.
I was wondering what could be the problem?
moisture shorted out the screen
Hope I'm allowed to do this. I've got a spare screen unit (black ribbon) off of my HERMES - it wasn't responding to stylus turned out to be bezel issue. If your interested get in touch.
hi
As soon as i make a phone call my screen goes off, now on my iphone it used to do this only when the light sensor was covered. to bringthe screen back on I have to press one of the black buttons in the bottom of the phone, is this a fault?
I had this problem after fitting a screen protector. removing it solved the issue for me.
The genuine HTC Screen protectors have 2 holes in for the sensors. I can confirm this does not affect the screen when making a call.
Are you using a screen protector which doesn't have a hole for the proximity sensor etc?
It may be it can't function right as it maybe seeing the protector as something close to the sensor, hence why the screen goes off.
I have a Vidocq screen protection and the phone wake up again when I finish the call...
Hi guys, I picked up a 1st gen 8GB Nexus 7 from eBay, it was sold as faulty (they said it doesn't power on) it does actually power on, Windows 7 connects and i can access the storage and i can hear my finger presses on the screen so i know it's powered on and the digitizer is working however there is no display whatsoever, i have taken the back off and reseated the battery connection and all ribbon cables to the digitizer / LCD assembly and nothing, the LCD looks immaculate there are no fractures or bleeding, absolutely no signs of damage yet it just stays black? I suspect the short ribbon cable to the LCD is at fault but before i order a replacement is there anything else you guys can think of?
I've just replaced the screen and digitiser in my wife's (original) Nexus 7. The new screen works but the digitiser is somewhat erratic - it mostly works when held in the hand, but becomes fairly unsensitive when placed on a table.
At first I thought it was a dodgy connection and holding it would put pressure on the ZIF connector on the motherboard for the digitiser. But I've discovered that if I place it on a thin table mat it is erratic, but putting my hand under the mat (so not changing the pressure on the back of the tablet) causes it to be more reliable, so I'm guessing its being affected by rf-coupling with the "holding" hand.
Anyway, I'm wondering if there's any way to recalibrate the sensitivity of the screen to see if upping the sensitivity will help?
Many thanks.
