Hi guys,
Is there any way to copy over all the notification/ringtone sounds from stock galaxy S4?
I have 2 S4. One is untouched and running stock from Samsung and the other one is running Google Edition. I would like to copy over sounds from Samsung version over to Google version. Is that possible?
Thanks!

Thanks but how do I access that folder? I plugged in the phone and looked under the phone but couldn't find any folder named System.

Computer\SAMSUNG-SGH-I337\Phone\media\audio only contains facebook sounds.

You have to be rooted to see the system folder

(request) Stock Android APKs

hi guys,
Just wondered if anyone had an apk for the stock Android keyboard, dialler & contacts?
Was using an early FroYo rom for a day or two and I prefer the stock android ones compared to HTC ones.
Thanks!
Has no-one got any of these by any chance?
Thanks

Galaxy S System dump

Summary:
Hey guys I'm working on a project to port the touchwiz framework to other devices using an update.zip to get running some touchwiz apps like music player on our phones.
So what I need is the system dump, or better if someone could upload the 2.2 update /framework/; and if you can /app and /bin folders to any good uploading service(FTP/stashbox/multiupload/dropbox, you get it).
I'd really apperciate that! Thanks!
bump for interest.
Please reupload if you can!

Well wow, first of all I REALLY appreciate your help, second I have no idea how you do that... You have to somehow access the system folder.
You can try:
Connect the phone to pc via RECOVERY (you need root AFAIK) and copy whole system(not sd card!) and upload it.
Try to copy whole ./framework and ./app folder from system to sd card, using a file manager like... androzip.
Use KIES/nandroid to backup and upload your backup(no worries won't read your personal data ). Though dunno if we could use it... or how...
You can try google it!
Really thanks!
EDIT:
btw what android version is your dad's galaxy using? It's very important info! Thanks.
hehe, you want to port touchwiz ... a lot of us are trying to get rid of it
but i guess there are some apps that are really good (movie-player, cam-app, calculator, ...)
i will pull the system folder from my JPC firmware an send you a pm containing the download link shortly (will host it myself and i don't want to have a lot of downloads ...)
I love you.
BTW, why don't you just download firmware package of your choice and extract the files you need from that?
My dad's GS is on stock 2.1.. Think i need to root it first...

They are modified, if not the framework is missing, if it'd be there it would be modified. Can't use. Also there is no custom 2.2 f/w as far I searching, and the original is not in zip format.

How extract a .rfs file from an firmware release:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=751827
/system can be found in factoryfs.rfs that is in CODE*.tar and a CODE*.tar is in almost every firmware release.
Thanks

Dany0,
http://db.tt/u8Hwlue contains the de-odexed framework files and system apps files. Note that a number of apks had been deleted from stock, but still the twlauncher is still there.
Hope this help, and good luck to your porting.
hi i want to port these
just a thing to ask
are the system apps deodexed or is it just the framework that has been deodexed

as far as i understand it stock firmwares are never deodexed. but why don't you just look into /system/app/. if there are any *.odex files around you know for sure that it's not deodexed

CM10 quickreply sms app on stock 4.2.1?

Would also like to know this.
You should be able to.. Grab the latest nightly ROM and extract the system/app/Mms.apk and copy it to your phones system/app and fix permissions. Make sure to replace it with the same name and remove the Mms.odex file as well..

So does it work?
What's the point in replacing a app in /system/app when it's going to not make you able to flash or update via ota? Just flash cm10.1 and make your life easier. You're already half way there with root.

[Q] Questions of a noob :)

Hey guys. As the title says i recently joined the android world through my nexus 4 and yesterday i rooted my phone for the first time using the nexus toolkit. So as i would like to ask some things that may sound foolish, but make me curious, im not gonna delay any longer and just go on. While rooted on stock rom i could see into my apps the SuperSu and busybox free apps. Now that i flashed rasbeanjelly they are gone.Do i need both? If yes should i download from google play or install from sdcard (there is a folder named "!Readytoflash containing these zips plus a "perm-recovery-signed" zip which i also dont know if its needed.) Also as i said now that i flashed my new rom i combined it with matr1x kernelv8.5. Any way to see its settings or edit them through a control app(havent found one yet). I maintly want to see how pgm fuctions work, like sleep2wake but cant see how to activate them etc. Last but not least before i go on custom rom from stock i made a backup thhrough Nexus toolkit and titanium backup.Does it matter where i choose to restore apps from and can i do that even if the restore was from different rom( will manually drag and drop photos on phone hope it works too). Thanks in advance for the help.

Moto X Kit [Download] By Droid Scoop

Moto X Kit By DroidScoop.net
This kit is a compilation of .apk files and wallpapers that will make your device function similar to the features found on the Moto X. We do not own the rights to any of these .apk's or wallpapers
Whats included:
Active Notifications .apk
Moto X Camera .apk
Moto X Gallery .apk
Twisty Launcher .apk
Sun Beam Live Wallpaper .apk
Moto X Wallpapers
Your device does not need to be rooted to use the following kit, but running an AOSP ROM provides a more intuitive interface.
Keep in mind the Moto X Camera as well as the gallery will not work on all devices. Most of the newer Motorola devices are compatible as well as many of the Samsung Galaxy phones. If issues arise use titanium backup to freeze the stock camera .apk
Also...
Active Notifications and twisty launcher must be configured to work as desired.
Download found at this Dev Host URL: d-h.st/FD1
Do Not Flash From Recovery
To install unzip the file and manually download the .apk files

Unzipped and individually installed I apologize for not specifying that. The zip file I initially prepared was going to be an add on that could be flashed through a recovery, but I was getting too many errors and force closes. Also this allows for more devices to become compatible. Rooted or not.
I'm getting a parsing error trying to install the active notifications apk on my gs4. Im running a custom rom on 4.2.2
Edit: I'm pretty sure it's because active notifications only works on 4.3 phones. I remember this app came out not too long ago and you needed to have 4.3

I'm running illusion ROM 4.2.2 on a GS3 and I have yet to have an issue. I also have successfully used active notifications on a Nexus 4 on 4.3 as well as a HTC droid incredible on Gingerbread.
Try downloading the APK directly from the Play Store if the file is not working.
I think the apk in the zip file may be an older version of the active notifications app. I downloaded from the playstote when I learned it now works with 4.0+ and it works fine now. I just wanted some way to have active notifications

The kit is simply a pack of .apk files which should work fine with most devices. We have already tested these on our T-mobile Note II running an AOSP ROM. Please let me know if any issues arise as we will promptly configure a fix.

I got a parsing error for the apk download for Active Notifications. Does this require me to download the app from the Play Store? I did that before hand, but I deleted it and tried to install the apk and said parsing still.

Try downloading the .apk from the Playstore and let me know how that works; Also what type of device are you using and what OS version. I have gotten this to work on a couple of rooted devices on ICS and Gingerbread but I have noticed that many devices not running 4.0+ are running into problems.

Dynamic Notifications works in the same concept, but it shows a stock android style icon for gmail and texts. I am using a Note II with stock 4.1.2 TW.

We just flashed stock TW on our Note II and we're getting the same error. So the only fix I'm seeing for this device is to flash an AOSP based ROM

Yeah, I think I am not really willing to root my device at this time. Thanks for the help though. If you find a fix besides the AOSP ROM of my choice, let me know via private message. Thanks, but outside of the Active Notifications, I enjoyed the wallpapers. I hope the Motorola apps will work on all devices.

My apologies for the delay,
The twisty launcher .apk is the only working method to simulate the Moto X's Quick capture camera. I have yet to find a device that supports this native feature other than the Moto X itself.
