Hey I'm running the Blu Kuban 1.0.0.2 ROM on my Sprint Galaxy S4, I went straight from MDL ---> Blu Kuban after completely wiping my phone as instructed, everything seems to be working fine except there's one small problem, when I go into the updater to try mods or add-ons, the package will download and ask me to restart so it can flash it automatically, it reboots into recovery and it starts to load but a few seconds later an error along the lines of 'path not found' shows up (I honestly can't read it exactly, all the text disappears from the screen a moment after the error and I'm left with a blank screen save for the android symbol and a triangle with an "!" hovering over it) the phone reboots itself after a while and functions normally, but whatever I was trying to install won't work. I figure I could just flash the packages manually but I think it'd be really great if I could use the automatic updater, I've searched high and low but as far as I can tell this is the first time anyone has asked about this problem.
Any ideas? I'd appreciate any help.

The reboot into recovery thing doesn't work for me either, although I don't get an error like you stated. It could be that your TWRP version is different than what they programmed Kuban Updater to work with... I dunno..
What I do is just download the mod, then manually reboot into recovery and install it myself using TWRP. All mods I've done that way have worked perfectly.

I had a similar problem.. I am running Rom manager to add zip files and once it reboots into the flash part I just manually find the zip it is in the 0/kubandownload/(whatever your zip file name is) and install is that way. Idk if that is what you need to know but hope it helps somewhat.

Hi all,
I'm having a little problem. I have researched but everything I've found leads me back to square one...
So I followed this guide to installing CM7 on my M2. Please note that I have in the past successfully rooted my phone, installed the Argenstone ROM and one other basic Great Britain Rom. So I'm not a total nub. However at this stage I have a phone that's is useless to me...
My phone is rooted. I have Droid2Bootstapper installed and I managed to get the CWM 3.X installed. I downloaded the all-in-one.zip file from the CM7 ROM thread (the zip is actually called EndlessCM7-110901-nightly_build.zip - hope that's not an issue?)
I booted into CWM and applied the EndlessCM7-110901-nightly_build.zip and after (without a reboot) wiped everything (I had backed it up previously).
I rebooted the phone and...well I get the Google logo with the Motorola M and the Cyanogen bot as the 2 'O' characters. Then after a while a 3D rotating 'square' and the android writing and logo 'shimmering' in and out but that just goes on forever. I left it for an hour at one point and just gave up.
Now I can't even get past the Google logo. I've tried restoring my previous back up but that won't work either. I can't boot into the OS to actually use RSD lite to flash a known working ROM over the top.
When the LED turns blue and I hit the volume key it displays "Android BootMenu <v1.0.3>" which is different to the CWM 3.X that I was getting prior to applying the EndlessCM7-110901-nightly_build.zip file.
From here I can select to recover the last 'latest recovery' which when done loads into CWM-based Recovery v4.0.1.6-defy.
Basically I'm at this point where I seem to be able to load just about every boot menu under the sun and do everything but actually launch the damn OS.
How can I get out of this hole? Preferably I'd like to get everything back to the stock ROM the phone came with so that I can start from scratch again.
Any bodies help would be more than appreciated.
Cheers,
- Matt
EDIT: I have even used CWM 4.X+ to try and restore the Argenstone ROM. it goes through the whole process of checking the MD5 sums, restoring the system and boot images etc and seems to work without any issues. I then wipe all data and reboot. Nothing - still the same cyanogen Google logo and the only thing I can do is boot into all the CWM menus.
*sigh*
Argh feel like a true idiot now. It took me about an hour of searching earlier but I've only just found/remembered how to get RSD lite to see my phone (pwr+volume+camera) and I'm wiping the whole thing to the factory (vodafone) ROM. Might take the opportunity to take it to Vodafone and tell them it never gets a damn 3G connection lol...provided this flash works (touch wood).
Hi everyone I just recently purchased a used S4 the GT-i9500. Everything seemed fine until I got home. It detected my T-Mobile Sim fine but I could only access 2G data and could not connect to any WiFi network I came across. The rom was stock 4.2.2 and the phone was rooted pre purchase. So after fiddling around for a few minutes I discovered the previous owner had flashed TWRP v2.4.1.0 as his choice for a Custom Recovery. Now at this point I had decided to flash on a Custom Rom and of course I first made a backup before flashing on WanamLite. Now after attempting to flash it I immediately received a failure. I tried turning off the signature verification and it did not flash. Now in my frustration i attempted to wipe everything and tried flashing Omega Rom v14. Now i was able to go through with the installation and choose what I wished to install and when I pressed Install things went along smoothly until I hit the app SecSafetyAssurance.apk where it freezes. This is a bump that I've run into at least 5 times already. I changed certain options I wanted to install and eventually made it past this and I am prompted to reboot. Now when I do this to my dismay I just receive a black screen. Upon pulling out the battery and attempting to reboot I still receive a black screen. when I boot back into the Recovery and attempt to reboot the system from within TWRP it warns me saying No OS Installed Are you sure you want to reboot. Im at a loss of what to do. I have read about other members suggesting to use ODIN but I am very confused about how to access Download Mode in order to flash a stock rom from SamMobile.com. I could use a few tips or maybe a few options that I'm left with in order to obtain the operation of my phone again. I would like to get my phone back and Im sure some users can relate to how Im feeling so any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much in advanced!

Flashing through odin is one option.... some users have reported that there were some hiccups when installing omega 14 because of the aroma script.....try a different rom...there are many others to choose from....or you could flash stock via odin as said on the earlier comment good luck

Today I attempted to use ODIN to flash now I am still currently attempting this. When I press the volume down key, power, and home button it takes me to the custom recovery TWRP instead of download mode. The phone did this when I first purchased it. When I still had what appeared to be the stock rom it would always take me to the recovery. When I would use the volume up instead of down it would take me to the factory test mode now mind you this happened when the OS was still installed. When i try that combination now i just receive a blank black screen. Are there any other ways to boot into download mode?
I'm currently with OptimusG3 1.4.1 on my d802.
This morning I noticed that my screen off effect takes no effect at all although I've already choose 'retro-tv' effect.
I noticed that my navigation bar also skip its animation when pressed, so it is just like it doesn't have its animation anymore, just give a sudden glow when pressed.
I'm curious that maybe something off with the animation scale, but when I checked in developer option in setting, the animation scale seems normal, therefore when my toast notification came up, it doesn't show the toast suddenly not like my navigation bar.
Then I tried to test the device test through hidden menu "3845#*802#", the very top one. It asked me to confirm that the test will be held via AAT test therefore I have to agree, and when I pressed agree, my phone restarted and won't go any further to the bootloader, yes it is soft bricked.
Then I tried to re install the ROM, but after the installation complete, when I entered the setup wizard on first boot, there is no navigation bar:crying:
I checked the setting > display, and there is no option about the navigation bar button that should exist there.
Got frustrated, I tried to restore the very first nandroid backup of my stock JB ROM. After it is booted I saw my navigation bar come back but I only saw my home screen for 2 seconds and it got replaced by AAT service, therefore, the navigation bar disappeared again.
So I decided to reboot it, and when I saw my home screen, I spam pressing home button to prevent the AAT to run, and it worked. I uninstalled the AAT service through Titanium Backup to see if the problem still exist. Gladly after removing the AAT, I booted up my stock JB ROM normally.
Then I tried to install the OptimusG3 1.4.1 once again along with the KK baseband since it is running on KK.
But once again, I can't see the navigation bar on the first boot.
Problem that maybe caused this?
I assume that now my system will always try to run the AAT service which cause my navigation bar problem. Unlike at the stock JB, this OptimusG3 1.4.1 doesn't have AAT service in the app list, so I can do nothing with it.
And if it is really like that, is there any way I can change the boot way so the AAT will no longer run on every of my boot??
Please help me, I can't even run my phone again in KK if every time I boot, I always face that AAT service.
Please help. . . .
Try to flash an aosp rom and use it for some minutes. Afterwards download the optimus zip again and flash it.

If that is the case, I've tried using my stock JB ROM for hours, but that was also triggered by the AAT sercive at the first time it booted while logically, since it is a nandroid backup from a long time ago, why does it have to boot up with AAT service after restore?
I've also tried to restore old backup of OptimusG3 1.4.1 when I flash it first time, after I restore that nandroid backup, it goes bootloop, which means something prevent it to enter the home screen, which I assume it is the AAT recalling this ROM doesnt have that AAT service.
Aosp Roms don't have this service that's why you should try this

appreciate the idea, pal.
but the thing is, if the dont have it, it means I will get the same issue with re installing the OptimusG3 1.4.1 because it also doesnt have it.
and even I manage to find a ROM with AAT service, which will automatically open the AAT service since boot, I still need to prevent it from opening like I did with my Stock JB ROM to maintain the navigation bar, because once AAT is opened, it will take whole screen which cause the navigation bar disappear again.
I need a way to make the way my phone boot like normal boot without any other app interrupt the booting process like the AAT did. I dont even know why in the first place this issue has caused that AAT always running on boot on whatever ROM I use.
I need a way to restore the normal boot process....
Then install Optimums but Reboot to recovery and delete the att service with the file manager of the rec

Well, that is what I tried like I mention above, pal.
just like I said, this optimusG3 1.4.1 doesnt have AAT service, that's why it failed to run the AAT but still it get rid the navigation bar when booting.
Thats why I need a way to make the AAT stop running every time I boot and instead prefer a normal boot, there is something off with the script and I don't even know how it can change that and how I suppose to fix the booting way, not just the AAT need to be deleted, but also stop running from booting in whatever ROM I used.

that's why i would install an aosp rom and then install a stock rom. Maybe this will delete the script for loading this service.
problem fixed
Tried re install OptimusG3 1.4.1, install CloudyG3 2.1, Pardus ROM,
even flashing stock JB firmware, were not resolving the problem.
Got the fix from sir OptimusRs himself,

I ended up brought myself to the service center though and I got my d802 with stock KK firmware just after OptimusRs telling me that.
So, the fix is to flash any Stock Firmware, but the thing is I already did that using Flashtool 2014 with CSE flash, but it doesnt give the clean flash because I still had the problem using that. Instead, try using LG PC suite because it gives a clean one like the service center guy use to handle my device. :fingers-crossed:
Thanks a lot, sir @OptimusRs
i have the same problem
I try to make this solution. But flashtool 2014 stop at 2 % while flashing the kdz file. Any one face this problem ??
I hope I'm posting this at the right place. I have to start off by saying that I'm almost a complete noob regarding rooting and things that have to do with it. I rooted my phone about 6 months ago I think and the reason why I did that was only because I wanted to be able to freeze down some apps with titanumbackup. Since it's been such a long time ago I've forgotten almost all those steps I did when I rooted my phone.
Anyways back to the issue. So today I got a notification from SuperSU saying that it needed to update. I didn't think too much about it so I just followed the notification and updated it. When I started SuperSU I got 2 choices. Either updating normal or by TWRP/CWM. The dumb me just pressed TWRP/CWM for no reason and the phone rebooted into recovery mode. A lot of text started scrolling down at the bottom left corner and when it finally stopped it said something along the line with update failed. I pressed "reboot the system now" from the list and after that my phone rebooted. The samsung logo popped out as usual but after that the screen was completely black. Then I got a lot of popups telling me that this and that app stopped working. Contacts stopped working, whatsupp stopped working, messenger stopped working etc. Like all the apps stopped working.
So I've been trying to google a solution to this but it doesn't seem like someone has had the exact same problem. I've been trying to research things about rooting and such again to see if it can help me someway but I don't think I can't fix this problem by doing just that, so therefore I'm writing this to see if you guys can help me since you have waaay more experience than me when it comes to rooting. I've tried flashing CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505 again using odin but the problem stays. I've tried updating to the latest stable SuperSU by downloading the zip file and putting it on the sd card and then using recovery mode but it didn't work either (I got an error E: signature verification failed). So after reading about the error I tried flashing a CWM but everytime I do that with odin I either get a FAIL or I keep getting the messages (Added, removed, added, removed). I download kies to get the drivers but it didn't help. and now when I try to boot into recovery mode my phone just keep rebooting.

Right now I don't see any other choice than flashing a stock rom.
Or you could try reflashing the recovery.
Make sure you are using the back USB ports and the original cable. Odin is quite sensitive with this.
G'day all,
Hoping someone can help. (firstly I've searched on here over and over and some things have really helped, but can't find this issues on here)
Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-i9505 (originally with Vodafone rom)
Back story, I managed to put google rom via WINTEAM at some point in time (I don't recall how I did this now) this file - crdroid-6.0.0-20151208-jfltexx.zip (I still have this but not a md5 file)
Anyway, I wiped it under settings and basically stuffed it right up. Loops on WINTEAM (this part I had found in search and downloaded Odin3 v3.13) and Samsung Rom and a couple of others.
I9505XXUHOJ3_I9505VAUHOJ1_I9505XXUHOJ3_HOME.tar.md5
I9505XXUHQK1_I9505MAXHQK1_I9505XXUHQK1_HOME.tar.md5
I9505XXUHOL3_I9505TELHOL2_I9505XXUHOL3_HOME.tar.md5
CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.tar.md5
The last one actually fixed up the google install but was hoping to place the original Samsung ROM back on and now it doesn't help at all when I run again.
The top 3 are Vodafone, Telstra and Max a forum had suggested (from a page on here somewhere). All of these say pass in Odin3 when installing onto phone. But once it gets to the Samsung with what looks like dots shooting out from the word it never gets past this at all.
When I power up the S4 phone, to get to download screen. I have volume up to download or volume down to restart phone. Some places I've read say to select wipe, I don' t have this option at all.
I saw an option to install s8 rom to s4 which I would like to do, but the how to do that requires working software first and install TWRN or something like that.
I'm not sure if this will run fast or ok on this phone, but it isn't a MD5 file either.
I would like Samsung ROM back on as it (for me cleaner than google or maybe just what I've been used to). I'd like to give to my youngest child as their first phone.
I also had tried to place zip files and also unzipped files on the SD card on the phone, nothing worked for me as it looks like it is expected ODIN3 to work.
At this stage of the day, I would just like to have it functioning again with anything that works.
Any advice on what to do now would be greatly appreciated, also I'm truly sorry if this problem has been documented, I really did try to do my research first before putting this up here. I've been on this for weeks now
So quick update. through more research, I have managed to install TWRP and now have access to additional utilities through WINTEAM. I've now tried to install ROM through the Micro SD card.
I think it comes up with a mount error, but has rebooted and still stuck so can confirm just yet.
I've managed to go through the entire process of installing the PurifieD+ROM+v3.5.zip through the micro SD card in the phone. Asked me about all the options etc during the install. There didn't appear to be any errors at all. Asked to reboot. etc....
I even had sound on the bootup, Now I have the Samsung word on the main screen with a blue backlight just flashing. Been like that for nearly 10 minutes. Not looking good.
Have I got bad memory or am I doing something wrong?
I managed to do a wipe after I did an install and it booted up find. I had no WiFi but than installed the vodafone install that should be the original and all works now.
The amount of time I had been working on this, I really didn't think I was going to get it going. I honestly thought I had some hardware error going on.
In the end it runs now, I can setup and had to my child
so I've managed to now use several different ROMs but now I can't root the phone (it should be able to, has been before)
When I run Motochopper I get this error
error: only position independent executables (PIE) are supported.
Seems to happen no matter what rom I've installed. I can't seem to find an older rom running android version 5.01 now
Any help on how to root this. Would be great
Now says it has been rooted, but I do not get the teamwin boot menu option at all. more like just a text style menu for wiping and loading other roms.
