Hey guys,
just got my Galaxy S4. I rooted it and wanted to install TWRP on it. Everything worked but if I boot my phone it freezes after a few seconds and reboots. Only way to bypass that is to lock the phone and wait about 30 seconds. And I also can't access TWRP. My phone just boots normally. So I wanted to flash normal recovery back. I only wanted a custom recovery to flash a theme. But for now I just need stock recovery. Are there any links to that? Those in the recovery threads don't work anymore :/
Now I boots and reboots all the time. I can't even use the OS normally. Any way to reset my phone to work again?

Hi,
Look HERE
reflash the stock rom

Still same issue :/
€: Wow it's just a joke. The phone freezes because of my microSD. When I take it out, let the phone boot and put it back in everything works. Only if I don't take it out and let the phone boot it freezes and restarts. I'll try to format the microSD because it's coming from my old phone.

I remember having that issue with the S3, the only solution is buying a new one

Yes it's rooted and the problem only appeared after flashing twrp. Before that everything worked fine. I did trianlge away and flashed stock recovery back but still the same problem.
If you say I only have to get a new one I'll stay with this one because taking out the sd isn't really hard to do and I don't reboot my phone very often.

My wireless tether app for root users wasn't working (kept force closing) so I decided to just reflash the ROM I was then using (RegawMod). So, I downloaded it from xda, put it on my SD, flashed it, and everything was going well. I booted the phone up for the first time after I flashed it and I wouldn't boot, only cycle through the boot screen (the boot screen would appear, stay for a good ten minutes, then go black, and the boot screen would appear again..). So, I nandroided back to my stock 1.5, and that booted up just fine. I decided to try another ROM (DamageControl). I downloaded it, put it on my SD, flashed it, and again everything went well, but same problem, it will not get past the boot screen, just keeps cycling the boot screen over and over again..
So..what's wrong here? Can anyone help?
In the recovery go into wipe and click on every option in that menu.

May the phone gods be with me........ 8-0

problem is that it keeps hanging in the ANDROID logo that shines, then suddenly stops, and resets this logo and it all starts all over, very strange...
I'm also able to install the Destiny Rom, and it boots well, but after xxx minutes this version also locks....
I had no problems with K7 OC before (only it locked after restart some days later, that was the prob)
How can I completely reset my phones internal memory?
Could this be unrepairably damaged?
SOLVED !
I can sleep good now !!!!
sorry, I panicked, because I tried several times and nothing worked.
Thanks for the advice !
(can I delete this topic?)
could you explain your solution?

Of course
I formatted with Pc software at first.
I got many times locked at startup (mostly after installing programs, so the phone needs access to the SD)
I installed K7, then flashed the G3rom into it.
And then, most important:
I formatted the SD card from within the Clockwork Manager CWM.
Of course, this erased both partitions (so make backup), but at least now it works
Do you have similar problems?
no, not yet... but maybe it'll help in future & others & just curious... where's the tnx button in this app?

Guys please I know this is the wrong forum but no one is answering help. At all. Alright, I went to flash the ICS Sense alpha, and needed to restore a backup. I went into hboot, and restored the PD98IMG.zip. Afterwards it said "Press power to reboot" so i did. The phone turned off, and now nothing. After a LONG time the phone turned on to the White HTC Splash and vibrated CONSTANTLY, until the battery was pulled. I tried volume down + power but nothing. Except for the occasional white screen, nothing. Please, anyone/.
You're bricked

I think your phone had a bootloop. Did you already installed custom recovery? Can you enter it through fastboot menu (vol down + power)?
I doubt he's bricked, why are you restoring that zip? You restore your back up....from clockwork?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
It won't enter into fastboot. Occasionally the white HTC screen comes on with a constant vibrate and the only way to stop that is to pull the battery. No fastboot, no recovery, nothing.
It wouldnt enter into recovery so I had to take the long way, by using the PD98IMG

I am confused. So what exactly happens when doing this:
remove or rename the PD98IMG on the sd card
pull the battery from the DHD
re-enter it and hold volume down and power until the hboot starts
navigate by volume down/up to Recovery and press POWER
If you had to restore back to factory, why bother flashing ICS?
You should get away by installing one of the RUU using PC. here is a guide on how to install RUU and you'll have to search this section to find a RUU or google it.
Though firstly i would ask you if you can go into the recovery mode anyhow since you're saying that your phone can get the HTC logo. For that, hold down POWER + volume DOWN key to get you into hboot (IF YOU CAN) and choose recovery from there, once in recovery, go to option where you wipe your data + cache, wipe both of em and try restarting again...If you can't even get into recovery then do the RUU way of getting the rom working.
EDIT:
I'm not sure what in the world happened, but it booted into the ATT stock ROM. After 30 minutes of vibration and idk what else, it finally booted.
Lol least its on

Gratz, suppose this thread's unnecessary now?
Anyway take care of what you do: always do a nandroid backup prior to flashing everything. Better spend 5min for backup than 5 days without a phone.
I think know what happens. If I remember correctly you had your phone replaced. And it came with gb. The pd98 you flashed was the froyo one. Hence the crazy vibration and long boot time. If Im right thisvwill happen each time you reboot Until you get the gb bootloader back on
Also spamming the threads is a pretty good way of getting banned. Maybe zel or Andy will be nice about it

That sounds somewhat correct. I DID get it replaced, but had a GB PD98 on the SD card. Anyway, it vibrated for quite some time, and eventually the vibration stopped. So I let the phone sit as I figured out some way to salvage the phone. And the the next HTC splash booted, and the phone proceeded into the stock ROM. Idk what happened, but I'm not complaining.
Dear Lord, it just turned off and is doing it again. But, I'm praying for the best again. Thanks guys.

When you succesfuly back in your phone, just root it with AAHK and install some custom ROM and you should be fine.

The phone itself is already rooted, but I tried booting into CWM, and it did the same thing as it did before. So I have to run the RUU, and then S on the phone, and run the hack kit again. I already ran the RUU once, and nothing.
Probably best just to start over and do everything again, even if you've already done it,maybe the root didnt work?
Your phones a nightmare mate

So you intentionally created a thread in the wrong section?
I guess the rules don't apply to you then.
Hi all,
As the title suggests, I have a bricked phone.
A little background, I rooted the phone then installed CWM. After that I installed CM10.2 but didn't care for it so decided to use Scotts stock rooted rom. To install that you have to have TWRP so installed that using Loki/adb. TWRP booted fine but when I went to do a wipe it hung at formatting cache. I rebooted and tried it again with the same results. I decided to try to install the rom anyway (dumb I know) and now all I have is a blank screen. No LG logo or anything. When I connect it to my pc windows recognizes like 10 different drives. I can't get it into download mode or recovery.
Am I screwed and need to see if ATT will replace it or is there a work around for this?
Thanks!
Wiping takes a long time. let it run and finish... could take 10 minutes or more.
how are you trying to get into recovery?

Yeah I let it run for about 15 minutes which is considerably longer than it usually takes on any other phone I've done (many).
Tring to get to recovery using the power key method.
The thing is that it never gets to the LG logo. Nothing shows up on sceen at all but it is on.

I'm in the same boat except I never installed a custom recovery or rom. Have you tried fastboot?
If it boots directly to a black screen (no lg splash), i'm sure ATT won't have any issues taking it back as they won't be able to see that it's rooted.
http://www.lg-phones.org/how-to-flash-unbrick-lg-g2-back-to-stock.html Here's a way to unbrick g2
Yeah I tried the flash tool too. No luck as I couldn't get into download or recovery.
I wound up taking it back to ATT and they gave me a new one no questions asked.

First, some info about the phone. It's a SCH-I545, I rooted it the day I got it (I forget which method), still running stock, and it's been running great for months.
But a week or so ago, I grabbed my phone to use it, and noticed it was on the Android system recovery screen. So I pulled the battery a couple of times to restart, and every time it's same thing.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this, or what I can do?
Thanks

Mate ,
If every time reboot into recovery it may be soft bricked , did you try factory reset it? if that does not work you may have to reflash your rom again , if you are stock you have to use Odin
Can you enter download mode? If so flash custom recovery with odin (philz is best) download custom rom and put on external storage then Flash custom rom with new recovery

Thanks for the advice! Sadly, the usb port on my phone stopped working awhile back (I have to use an external battery charger), so I'm probably out of luck if flashing is the only way to go. I know there probably isn't one, but do you know of any way to flash something from sd?

You can flash a ROM from the SD card, but not recovery.
IF the USB port is fried and you can't get it to boot to the ROM, then I don't think you could get recovery on it.

Holy...CRAP.
I dismissed your advice about buttons at first, but a few hours later when I was dismantling my phone for the hundredth time during the two weeks that it's been broken, I decided that it couldn't hurt to check. Sure enough, disassembled, all the internal buttons are fine.
The buttons on the phone's outter shell, however? Totally bent. I straighten them out, put it all back together, and power it on. And it WORKED.
Dear friend, and I do consider you a friend, you gave me back something I thought I had lost, something I couldn't afford to replace.
From the bottom my heart, thank you. Thank you so very much.
