I did a factory reset on my phone. I have Creed's ROM 3.5.
I am no longer able to connect to the mobile network. The network bars show up 3 bars or 4 bars, but when I try to make a call, I get a message saying "call ended" and "network service not available".
I have been using this Custom ROM for over a year now and didn't face any problems till this week. First I wasn't able to get youtube to update.
Then I did a factory reset and that resolved the issue.
Should I try going to stock rom?

I have a few more discoveries. I get a network signal, if I am walking in Philadelphia downtown and am able to make or receive calls. In my office building I have stopped getting the network signal. My colleague who is on t-Mobile gets the signal while inside the building. He has a different phone. Not an android phone. When I insert my SIM card in his phone, he still gets the signal.
Where can I get the stock ROM for North America?

L is for Latin America. I am in the United States. My guess is that they never released this phone officially in the North America. This phone was originally purchased in Mumbai, India almost a year ago. I am going to try and download the firmware for INDIA and check if that works for me.
Thanks for providing the samsung-updates link.

Same thing happened to me, in March, with a (some) Froyo firmware.
I'm italian, and while travelling to sweden my i9000 was NEVER able to register to swedish's networks.
My SIM was fine, the problem was the phone.
As soon as i came back to italy, everything came back fine, but... i'd love to "fix" this, as i'll go to London soon.

I am in seattle on TMobile network and using a u8800pro brought from india.
Firmware is latest "official" ICS from huawei(B928).
Not able to get 3g, i guess due to tmobile hspa bands.
Any options using custom ROM's.
I am experiencing horrible battery life after ICS updates(even after recalibrating).
Need advise on custom/stock rom.
Need most functional, stable enough, good battery life rom, not interested in looks and ui.
You will get your 3g most likely by the end of 2012. There updating towers
And depending on location, those demo phones won’t be limited to 2G-only data speeds. In a blog post going up Monday morning, T-Mobile reveals it has activated its HSPA+ network in iPhone-friendly bands in parts of New York City, Seattle and Las Vegas. T-Mobile has even developed an iOS version of its Bobsled VoIP calling app to support the 1 million “unofficial” iPhone users it already has.

Hi, I bought my note 3 in UAE and I am using it in the UK. I am on Vodafone. I always get rubbish signal in my house. It is on "emergency calls only" nearly all the time. Also the LTE/4G has NEVER worked since I got it on launch (Sep). Whenever I turn the 4G on the H+ sign never comes up. Some people may argue that Vodafone is a rubbish network. I agree too but I think I may need to flash a different modem? My model is a SM-9005. Do I need to flash a different modem to get the 4G to work? Thanks

You can actually try a different ROM or maybe a custom ROM? At the same time, reception might just be poor in your house. So you might need to make do with regular 3G or EDGE. I no for a fact that in my friend's house i ALWAYS have to switch to 2G because 3G reception is never available, I have SM-N900 tho.

what if i flash a different rom/modem?
I just checked and vodafone operates 4G/LTE at 800MHz. On the samsung uae website it says that the note 3 supports 800MHz 4G/LTE
ROM's won't make a difference as it's the hardware on the device itself.
I also noticed the note 3 doesnt have a superb signal reception... For example in my house my moms s3 and dads s4 have full bars where i on my note have one bar less than they do. Little dissapointed

Check phone status in settings and compare it with the S3 and S4 - you'll see it's just the bar's that show different the dBm's are what counts. You'll see it'll be identical to the S3/4

The device itself has the bands. But you cannot access them by changing the modem. The N9005 supports many many bands but different MPN Codes on each device limit it to specific countries.
It's all a legal thing. Radio frequencies are controlled, unless the UAE version supports the exact same frequency that your UK carrier runs on it won't work. Upgrade to kitkat and test it.

I had same problem. Cannot be fixed even if you use the magic menu 3845#*855#. The Singapore firmware will not give the LTE option for mobile settings. You'll need to return your G3 and get a Euro model. EBay sellers are aware of this issue with Asian G3s.

EBay rules allow returns if seller claimed it works on UK LTE network and does not. If you need to keep it then you'll just have to keep running the LTE selection app you have after reboots.

I bought my G3 in Indonesia so its an SEA version. I have no 4G option here in Indonesia (where there is no 4G), but if I pop in a Smart Philippines SIM card (they do have 4G), the 4G option does appear. I've tested the 4G in the Philippines and it works fine.
The key is a SIM card which is provisioned for 4G. You won't see 4G as an option unless the SIM is provisioned for it, even if you're currently connected via 3G to a network operator which has a 4G network.

Not the issue here in the UK. I had a SEA firmware device and tried three different 4G SIM cards and no LTE optoon was available. The device is region locked somehow.

That theory doesn't hold because people (including me) can manually toggle to 4g. The setting is just lost in the next reboot.
If you root and get rid of the LTEConfig it will stay permanant...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54621213&postcount=26so not a SIM or hardware issue...
I have an sea version and I'm in uk. Lte works fine. Just delete ltesettings.apk
YOu have 2 options....
1- Root it with pourple drake and delete the lte apk and the odex file, restart the phone and check again.
2- Install one of the latest GLOBAL roms from LG, J version and N version are globals...this will give you the option of LTE, if it does not come up, repeat step one and you are good to go.
I currently use a D855 SEA version in Costa Rica, and LTE works perfectly...network speed is around 8Mbps average, sometimes I can reach 15-16...

Hi,
Wondered if you can help....just got the LG G3 which was meant to be a euro version but is SEA (V10K-SEA-XX) and I'm new to anmdroid having just moved from iPhone so forgive my stupidness........do I need to root to be able to delete that file....and if not how do I do it?
thanks for any help.
Rob
Yeah you need to root your phone. I think purple drake is best for this at the moment but try stump root first as it is easier (just download the apk). If you don't wish to root, try installing the app (ltesettings) as that *could* work.
I would advise flashing twrp with bump and then a custom lollipop rom as it is much better than KK on G3.
PM me if you want more info.

I have a V10L-EUR-XX firmware and I've tried removing the lteconfig.apk and lteconfig.odex however restarting or going into the network menu continues to reset the phone back to 3G. The hidden menu does allow me to switch to 4G, but as known this is only temporary.
Has anyone else experienced this and been able to fix the issue permanently? I'd rather not flash another firmware, but I will if it's the only option left.
So I picked up a Note 4 model SM-N910C which is the exynos octacore WITH LTE. I am using it with Tmobile USA in Chicago. I get horrible horrible LTE signal. At my apartment I get .53 dl and 3-4 Upld.
When I first got it I went to about phone and it had arab emirates firmware lollipop. Ive tried at least 2 others and still get crap signal. i had a similar issue with a phone before and I fixed the issue by getting into a secret menu and messing with the lte and prl settings. This phone will not let me do that though. Do I need to flash a different radio? What can I do? I am doing the KIES recovery/reset as I type.
I'm facing the same problem here. I have a SM-N910C from mexico but the original carrier, Telcel, didn't provide android 5.1.1 so I flashed a rom from another country. The problem is that now my signal is really bad, when I'm lucky I get two bars but most of the time is just one or none. I can still receive and make calls outdoors but I loose service as well as data almost inside any building. I was wondering if I can solve that with some configuration or reflashing the radio but I'm not sure.
Could please anyone provide some help and guidance?
Thanks!!
