Basically the title says it all. When i swipe to unlock from the left side, the phone reads it as me trying to change the volume from vibrate to silent and loud. Any help?
Can someone close the thread? It just fixed itself

Hi there. I opened up my Wizard (thinking I was ultra-cool) to fix a keyboard problem that I have been having (in landscape mode, the touch-screen doesn't work)...
After doing this, I landed up with a second problem. The volume slider doesn't work. Now, I can't scroll but more importantly, I can't mute calls (aka silence incoming calls, put the ringer off)
Whats the alternate solution? After several hours of research, I'm thinking this is the possibility. I can use a program like smartskey and re-assign the mute functionality to another button like the END button. For example, if a call comes in, the first time I hit END, it will silence it and the second time I hit END, it will ignore the call. Is that possible?
Please help. I am totally dependent on my wizard for EVERYTHING!

Hello,
I've broken the volume slider :/ anyone interested in selling one?
Also I would love to know if it is possible to silence incoming call - it was done by sliding volume DOWN but with broken slider I can't silence incoming call anymore :/
Any ideas?

At the top of the Today screen, you will see an icon for the speaker. If you tap that icon, the screen volume control will pop-up. You can then adjust the volume or switch the phone to vibrate.

I hate vibration on phones. Period. Hate it. I must be doing something wrong because when I silence my phone, it always seems to vibrate when I get a phone call.
This is how I am setting my HD2 to silent:
Scroll over to setting Tab in manila>Sound & Display>Check Silent.
Sometimes I like to play music (with HD2 in pocket) while I am doing my work but don't want to be interrupted with a vibration from phone call, so I use the hardware button to lower volume to zero (Not pressing the silent button) while keeping system's volume up so I can hear the music.
No matter what, I my HD2 still vibrates when I get a phone call.
Help me get rid of the Vibrations!!
Actually I was just hunting for a solution to this.
I don't understand what the point of having separate options for "silent" and "vibrate" are when silent also vibrates?
I have no issue with vibration for other reasons - I just want silent to be just that; when I want it to vibrate I would select vibrate....
When you check 'silent', scroll down to 'notification sounds' and in there you'll probably see the slider is set to vibrate. turn it off there and see if that works

When I do this, or press a volume key and tap "Silent" at the bottom of the volume screen, my phone stays correctly silent with no vibration.
My usual ring settings are even on "vibrate and ring".
right now it seems that whenever i put the phone into silent mode from the unlock screen the only notification i get is the blinky ball. nothing else. i have to go into the settings to turn on vibration notifications every single time.
is there anyway to make it so i can have the vibrations on and ONLY turn the ringer/sound notifications on and off with the slider on the unlock screen?
i know i can just lower the volume with the rocker to the vibrate middle ground, but being able to handle it from the unlock screen would be nice.
No.........

With the slider only: no. However, you can slide to mute, unlock and hit the volume + rocker up once. Hit it again to restore the original ringtone volume.
...At least that way you won't have to go digging into the settings.
Hi,
As anyone figured out how to disable the haptic/vibration feedback? I've gone to settings>sound>unchecked vibrate on touch but it doesn't seem to have worked. I also noticed that when I turned the volume all the down using either the volume rocker or the touch screen control, the vibrate icon appeared in the top right hand corner.
I received my N10 yesterday and think it's a great device despite some teething issues (which I hope an update in the near future will sort out!), but I want to figure out if the issue above is hardware related, in which case I'll ask for a replacement.

Did you try a reboot after changing the setting?
Also, when you turn the volume all the way down, it automatically turns on vibrate for notification. That's what that icon means.

I've rebooted after changing the setting but it still hasn't turned off. As for the automatic vibrate, I thought I could turn off the vibration even though if I turned the volume all the way down, kinda like selecting the silent option on your phone and turning vibrate off.
