can the ouya run on batteries? I have a 12v battery pack to hold 8xAA. Possible safely?
Probably for a little while. The Tegra 3 isn't bottlenecked and assu,Ed it will have endless power. But it is a mobile application that the Ouya is based off of so you should be able to.

Hey guys, I'm taking a long distance international flight with my Nexus 7 and was wondering if anyone had suggestions on back-up power, best battery saving kernel, set-up, etc. Thanks!
Hi,
I'll let you know how long it lasts...I'll flying on Wednesday about 11h...watching movies...with my GT 10.1 it was no problem. Otherwise buy an batterie pack and let it charge during you're using it. They're not so expensive and worth it..

Hi,
I would recommend a power pack for the trip. Depending what you're going to do... for sure with the screen on the battery drains like the hell and an intercontinental flight takes too long...

Hello guys
I have Nexus media importer (not rooted) and when i connect usb stick its working fine but when i connect my external hdd WD 320gb its not working. Anyone knows what could be the problem ? maybe lack of power ? waiting for answers :highfive:
You can connect only device with own power source...
It is possible to use a hub with otg, I have connected a kboard and mouse through a basic 4 port hub as a tester. You should be able to use a powered hub to drive your external HD

So which do you think is the problem?

Both the other posters indicated it is likely a power problem. But, not all external HD's will work, powered or not. My WD 750Gb My Passport HD won't mount even powered.
It is indeed a power problem. My usb 2.0 based wd1600 did the same. Since it does not have its own power source, i wired in 5 volts to its usb cable and that got me up and going. There are some usb 3.0 ext hdds that dont need external power to work though. Tassadar got one and said it runs fine with just the power provided by the n7. So you have 3 options. 1. Use an hdd with ext power. 2. Wire in 5 volts to the cable. 3. Purchase an hdd which the n7 can power.

How can I wire 5v power? You mean by hub with power input?

No. I actually spliced a 5 volt power adapter directly into the hdds usb cable (red and black wires). A little solder and a few heatshrinks are priceless.
I was going to upload a pic of the cord, but uploading anything with the xda app is beyond retarded anymore. Startimg to regret paying for the premium. For the greatest android site on the web, it is a shame that their app stinks and riddled with bugs. Kinda ironic.

Does anyone know why on my nexus 4 it shows the extra graphics/ effects but doesn't on my nexus 7?

GPU
its because the adreno 320 is a much better gpu then tegra 3 i think its about 2.5x stronger so if gameloft put max graphics on nexus 7 it would lag
Wrong by a long shot!!! Tegra is one of the best CPU's around, just gotta tweak it. Also for your answer try a different ROM and kernel. Should help!!

I own both a nexus 7 and N4 and the nexus 4 is a lot faster even with the n4 CPU @800 and n7 CPU @1500 its still faster than the n7 in graphics
EDIt: anyone with a brain knows S4Pro is a. much stronger soc than tegra 3 do you work for nvidia or something oh yeahs when's the last time nvidia released drivers that's right never
Is there any way to improve the graphics?

You can find modded APKs (I am not gonna link them) but 90% of the time they won't work. You can try editing some config file in the data directory. Dunno which though.
Hey guys
Im just curious to hear if that always listening feature is something that is going to remain proprietary to Motorola. I would love to wake up and just shout at my phone and send emails and stuff.

Will kill battery since ours doesn't have a specific core necessary to use it without killing the battery. So in short probably not. But if someone ports the ROM maybe you'll get it but it'll kill your battery

Though if your phone's on mains power it wouldn't be a problem, ie, an "always listening" app that was only on when your phone was plugged in (including being docked in the car) would still be useful potentially

I heard the next generation will equip snapdeagon 800.
Because of that, will 2gen nexus 7's price drop in online after the release of kindle fire hd2?
thanks!

Maybe, but only Google would know, and I doubt any of their employees would leak that information here on XDA...
Last years model did not see a price drop when the Nook or Kindle models were released..
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
Well...
Didn't that happened because nook and kindle sucked back then?
Sent from my SHV-E210S using xda app-developers app
Yea but the Kindle and Nook aren't full tabs either. Don't they lack stuff like NFC, wireless charging, Bluetooth, and GPS?
Those other tabs are designed to make it very very hard to keep them on stock software. Each new device gets harder and harder to open up.
I'd easily take a N7 with a 600 then a Kindle with a 800.
I also don't see anything confirming any specs.
