So I'm running my phone with the lowest brightness and I have no problems whatsoever but whenever I use dolphin browser, it automatically dims my display even further. This makes no sense because I'm already using the lowest brightness and it dims it even lower when using dolphin browser. Right now I'm using the xda app to post this and my brightness is at the lowest like it should be which is good but if I use dolphin browser, it goes even darker.

Many browsers will have an option in their settings to adjust display brightness. I'm guessing you already checked there?

There's nothing like that in dolphin browser and I have checked. What else can it be?

Does it do the same with the stock browser? because there is the ability to turn that feature off.

It's hidden like in stock android phones. Type "about:debug" in address bar and go to settings in browser. Scroll completely down to UAstring and set the desktop mode. The browser forgets the setting so you have to set it again after restart I think.
Thanks didn't know about that..but tried it..checked desktop..and its still loading up mobile sites..ughhh really sucks

Install dolphin hd browser - I wasn't going to do the about: browser crap every time either. User agent is in the settings menu in dolphin.

Install a different browser. IMO I have used them all and xScope 6 is the fastest. It also lets you set to desktpp mode so every site is full.
However if you want a mobile site, you can set the settings for each domain as well.
Ok thnx guys ima try both of em out see which one I like

Tried a few browsers and im liking xscope alot. thanks
I use dolphin for mobile and xscope for desktop. That way I don't have to switch the settings back and forth.
Is there a trick to forcing these browsers to use desktop mode? I love dolphin because it does it but its SO LAGGED I cant handle it
google is your friend.

In stock browser nothing will appear to happen. You need to hit the menu in upper right after and choose settings >debug and uastring to change to desktop.
i got it now, thanks. So there is no permanent fix for Wifi? Nothing in the framework res?
Just use Dolphin mini..it works way better on the Xoom.set user agent to desktop and you're done

I can't find out where to get rid of the internet talking and sound. The default browser reads the text and my input. Any other browser I use I don't have this issue. Is there any way I can change the default browser? I took it to AT&T and they could not turn the sound off on the browser. And I don't want to toggle the system sound on and off all the time... Thanks for any help. Gale Galaxy S4

I went through all features in accessibility and nothing worked. Still have voice on default browser. It is really a pain to have a voice when your trying to browse.

Not sure how yours is set up but try turning accessibility or any apps using it off. I got the same thing when I enabled NoLED under accessibility. Once I turned it off, gallery and Internet went back to normal.

Yeah apparently if you use something like LightFlow it will cause this problem also.
After my 4.3 update, chrome browser is auto refreshing on the xda pages like every couple seconds.
Anyone else seeing this?
Fix?
Don't have a fix for you but noticed that Firefox on my PC did the same when I had scriptblocker set too strict. Xda kept refreshing when it couldn't get to things like Google api's or ads.

Same here on 4.3stock. Chrome and chrome beta auto refresh. Side-loaded Opera with same result.
Firefox nightly does not auto refresh, but after viewing a few pages here on xda, links become inactive. Boat and Ocean browser's have same issue as Firefox.
All is OK if I don't log in.
Mine is doing the same. It seems better with the Chrome Beta version released today, but it still does it occasionally.
Try switching the xda theme to "XDA 2013 beta - 1024." It did the trick for me :good:
Are you running low on memory?

I had the same issue, fixed it by disabling prefetch web pages in chrome settings.
Hope this helps.
Edit - sorry should be preload not prefetch.
Found this thread via google search, but yeah I had this problem too so thanks for the suggestions.
My question is why when browsing the forums, one post will have large enough to read text and the next post will randomly have too small of text. How is this fixed? Currently use Chrome but happens with Firefox too.
can confirm this with boat browser... since update to 4.3 as well, before it was fine.

You're the man--this worked. Thanks!
This has been a major annoyance for me. How do I change the theme though?

Out of a matter of interest is it doing it in all websites or just the XDA forums website? Mine is doing it in the XDA forums. Refreshes constantly unless I'm in landscape mode. Something to do with Auto resizing webpages to suit different resolutions I think.
