Hey everyone.
I was just wondering if there's a current method to resetting the flash counter on the Samsung Galaxy I9500 (international version).
As you know Triangle Away doesn't support the International variant of the S4. For that, I was hoping to find an alternative method. (I'm Rooted)
Thanks.

No other method as of now we will have to wait till chainfire gets one working however the counter is hidden as per what I understand and after flashing stock rom the device status shows official

Enable usb debugging
connect to kies
upgrade firmware from tools menu
power off after successful upgrade
press volume up+home+power
wait until android icon is shown twice
restart
Now you are official
you can reflash your firmware by kies > tools > firmware upgrade and initialisation and you will get samsung official binary. tested
yup but that doesn't reset the flash counter so any service centre can still tell that you modified the firmware.
Sent from my GT-I9505
Chainfire Does not have the I-9500 Variant.. When He would have one he would work on Triangle Away Support for the Same.
[GUIDE] ROOT + OTA & KIES Updates + OFFICIAL Device Status (XXUBMF8) [GT-I9500/I9505] ?

Is it? Someone explained before that reseting the flash counter on the exynos chipset is a lot more difficult than it was for qualcomm variant ... almost impossible if i remember correctly ... can't find his post however ... but he explained why exactly is that so ... so even if they have it i don't know if they ll invest their time to try to do so ...
Guess we can only wait
Hi
I have Galaxy S4 I 9505 4.3 version
After doing the upgrade to 4.3 It became a bit slow, so I backed up everything using Kies 2.6
I reset the S4 to factory, plugged into stupid Kies, I get a msg saying I need an upgrade to Kies 3!
I upgrade to Kies 3... Try to restore, it does not recognize the backup from Kies 2.6
Seriously, the phone is awesome and all but Kies is the lousiest application I ever had to deal with!!!
Any ideas or help on how I can fix this...
Its a big problem for me...
Thanks
Hello everyone! ,
I am newbie here and i would like your help! i have recently bought a used galaxy s4 ( GT-i9505 ) which is in firmware i9505xxubmga/android software 4.2.2 and it's rooted! My problem is that i can't make any updates (OTA) and actually i don't want my phone to be rooted so i want to unroot it and update both android version to 4.3 and firmware ...i have read a lot things in forums about how to unroot and etc but i am complicated...could anyone tell me about the all process?? what steps i must follow to unroot my device and update both android software and device firmware?
If you need an extra information about my device ask me details...

Hi!
Im wondering if someone can help me unrooting my device.
I did a casual root that I used: Root_E330S_I9506.zip
And the recovery that I used: CMW - Chenglu_cwm_recovery_6.0.3.7(0905)-fix-exSdcard.tar
My device: Samsung Galaxy S4+ I9506 4.2.2

Once you root, you can't update via phone any more. You'll have to download the firmware and flash with Odin.
Thanks ! If I download a firmware from lets say sammobile, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna loose root, right ?
Is it going to working anyway even if I'm rooted ? I remember the old days when we couldn't flash stock firmwares when rooted (yes, been a long time since I used stock roms).
Does flashing new firmware means mandatory full wipe ?
Flash with mobile Odin and you can root+inject supersu+install mobile Odin in the same time. Did that today on S5 international (F) and mobile Odin 4.20
