how to access Clockworkmod with hardware locked?
BTW, may I install voodoo(update.zip) with Clockworkmod? is it much safer than Odin??
Thanks!
Rom manager has an option to reboot into clockwork recovery.
Installing .zip threw clockwork is safer and easier
I have ROM Manager Premium. I downloaded AmonRA recovery and put the same in the root of the SD card. When I open ROM Manager it says "No Flashable recovery found" and Flash Alternate Recovery is disabled.
Is there a specific name I need to rename the recovery for the ROM Manager to pick it up or is there something else I can do to flash alternate recovery from ROM Manager ?
same question here ...
You will have you flash the recovery using unREVoked (how-to here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=709146), or Splash Flasher (How-to Here: http://ip208-100-42-21.static.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=794638).
I've been trying to help a friend flash ROM's to his X. We've installed the paid Bootstrap and Rom Manager. We then utilized the bootstrap utility, and flashed clockworkmod recovery. We then go to the Download rom section of Rom Manager and choose FlyX, it downloads, we then check backup current rom, and wipe data, continue. The phone attempts to boot into clockworkmod but wont. It does the update package part, fails, and then reboots normally. I should also note that when I attempt to boot into clockworkmod recovery via bootstrap it is successful. Could I find the downloaded Rom via the menu in clockworkmod and install it that way? Is there a step in installing Clockworkmod that I'm missing? I've been checking the forums but all I can find for solutions is people saying to install bootstrap again. I've uninstalled and reinstalled both programs twice and nothing has changed. Thanks so much in advance for the help.
open rom manager and click on flash clockworkmod recovery.
everything you download with rom manager goes into the /clockworkmod/download folder on your mem card.
Tried that.didn't work.

You need to open up Bootstrap and select the top option... then you can proceed to Rom Manager.......Rom Manager cannot flash CW onto the DroidX that why we need Koush's Droidx Bootstrapper. Give that a try also Note i hope that you have booted into CW and made a Nandroid backup of your friends current phone state.. If that still doesnt work for you.. download the ROM off a forum and do it manually.

YOu need to download Koush bootstrap http://koush.tandtgaming.com//motorola/droidx/DroidXBootstrap.apk
So after I gain root, I open Bootstrap? I then hit the "Bootstrap Recovery" button? Then I open Rom Manager and click "flash the latest ClockworkMod Recovery", which I beleive is 2.5.0.7? Do I hit the "Reboot Recovery" button in Bootstrap after I flash the latest CW recovery?
that will get you into clockwork mod yes.
This helped, thanks everyone

Forgive me for this question that's likely been answered before.
I am unable to use any tool to download and flash an updated CM10.1 (cmupdater, cyandelta, rom manager, goo manager). The only thing that is working for me right now is doing an adb sideload from whichever custom recovery I currently have installed (I've used both TWRP and CWM). Install from .zip fails every time. Does anybody know why it's doing this to me? I end up with a soft brick every time I try and I have to go in and do an adb sideload install to get things running again.

Hm, I can't say for sure what the problem is. But, some of those apps are only compatible with certain recoveries. Goo Manager requires the OpenRecovery Script (used in TWRP). ROM Manager and CMUpdater work on CWM Recovery, but I am not sure on TWRP.
Try opening Goo Manager, clicking the overflow menu button, clicking "Install OpenRecovery Script," allowing it to flash the latest TWRP, and then using Goo Manager to auto-flash a ROM.
Have rooted my LG G2. Downloaded and installed Rom Manger. followed its instructions for installing clockworkmod recovery and it says it's a success. Reboot my phone. Go into rom Manger again and select boot into recovery. Phone reboots but i get the red warning triangle. Any helpers as which is best method to install recovery?
I use Flashify for installing both CWM and TWRP...

Never use rom manager.

Download the Recovery image for your phone and as stated above you Flashify from the market to install the image. Much safer and easier, Rom Mgr does not play well with the G2.
