If you have the zip, then you just flash it in twrp or cwm recovery.

I have flashed using cwm and twrp. I have tried 3 different bootanimations.I have tried flashing the fix for tw roms to install boot animations.I have tried manually puttining the zip in system/media. All these attemps have failed. It is the stock mf9 rom with kt kernel(7/11/13)
I believe blue kuban is deodexed, I don't know if that's the problem or not. You don't specify what rom you are on or whether you are stock. I am stock rooted MF9, stock kernel, and odexed. I simply downloaded the international boot animation from the themes and apps section and flashed it in twrp with no problems at all. I didn't apply any boot animation fixes or anything.
You can use this to install boot screens easily https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.liberty.toolbox

Hello There, Im currently running Philz Touch based on CWM 6.0.3.3 and i would like to install the original CWM 6.0.3.2(0611).
can some one tell me how to do that? im afraid to do this kind of stuff alone
I think you just have to flash it via ODIN 3.x and it overwrites the old one.
Stick your phone in download mode, make sure you have the Samsung drivers installed, Kies isn't running in the background, download the .tar file from wherever, open Odin, click on PDA, select the recovery, then click start after checking everything.

Thank your very much! Will try it soon when ill be at home
Edit: recovery overwrite worked successfully but now my phone is stuck on boot animation.
The boot animation is not stuck but the phone isn't starting.
Tried to flash some new ROMs like WanamLite and Omega but nothing changes...
now i installed a stock rom but nothing changes
Hi there.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 and I’m using TWRP Recovery 6.0.4.4.
I tried to flash a nightly-version of CyanogenMod (cm-10.2-20131101-NIGHTLY-jfltexx.zip). I did a Factory Reset before flashing, TWRP said it had been successful.
When I tried to boot my phone, I can see the "SAMSUNG GALAXY S4 GT-I9505" logo, here it got stuck. I can not see the cyanogen boot animation.
Though MD5 hashes and file sizes are ok, I tried another ROM: SuperNexus http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2407616
Here it was exactly the same. My device gets stuck even before the boot animation.
I was so desperate, that I tried to format my complete internal storage. Flashing the ROMs was successful again, I could boot both ROMs CM and Supernexus then. But after I turned off my device I can't boot any more. Again I can not see the boot animation.
I have already tried it with PhilZ and CWM. I flashed them using my current recovery.
Any advice?
I am sorry for my English, if you need more detailed explanation, please ask. I tried to describe everything as detailed as I can.
Can you get into download mode? You may have to flash a stock ROM to get it to working again. Was the phone previously rooted?
And are you currently on a stock ROM or coming from a custom ROM?
Yeah, I can get into Download mode.
Well, I am not sure what ROM I'm currently using since I wiped everything. Previously I had FoxHound ROM, samsung-based pre-rooted custom ROM.
Have you tried flashing a custom Kernel?
Sounds like what I had when I tried to flash a TW Kernel for a AOSP ROM.
If you can't get into recovery, go into download mode and flash the latest CWM. Got my phone working.
FoxHound ROM installed a custom Kernel, "Ausdim Kernel" I think.
Now I have CWM 6.0.3.2 from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2279579
Not sure if this is the latest version ... I can't find an Odin-flashable *.tar
Anyway it doesn't work too. This recovery can't even flash CM, it gets stuck at "opening update package ..."
Sorry its a bit late.

Use them. This may help as a tutorial to follow loosely but that was for non working WiFi.

I've got CWM recovery installed on my VZW G2 as I wanted to install the latest Gummy 4.4 based ROM. Now I'd like to switch back to TWRP. Can I just go into CWM and flash the TWRP2.6.3.3recovery.zip file? Or do I have to do something different? Any help/advice is greatly appreciated!
The way I've been doing it is to boot into whatever ROM I have installed, and do it from a terminal there (su and loki_flash the other recovery). I don't see why your method wouldn't work; mine might be a little safer since it doesn't modify the recovery while you're in recovery mode.

I switched from CWM to TWRP and just reflashed the zip. I am assuming recovery gets loaded into memory allowing you to overwrite the contents of the recovery partition.
Cool, cool!! I'm off to give it a try.......reflashing the zip file that is.
Thanks again guys!!
Flashing Recovery
I've gone back and forth between TWRP and Philz Touch by simply flashing the zip and rebooting recovery. Personally, I prefer Philz but it does not work well with the latest PA4
I tried flashing Alucard's Lollipop with an older CWM and while it did show he animated CM logo, it never made it to the actual welcome screen. Not sure if others have had that problem but I would like to update to a newer recovery. Can anyone provide me with a link to a better one?
Also, I did try using Odin to flash TWRP but it said PIT error. Not sure if this is related or not.
Try flashing TWRP using Nandroid manager app from the google play store. That's how I did it. Download an TWRP img and flash it with that app.
I use TWRP 2.8.3.0 and flashed CM12 a few times. Even CM12.1.
I suggest you use TWRP recovery personally I'm more into CWM but for this one TWRP.
Hey team i flashed nougat 7.0 and it is rooted with TWRP and I wanted to add my own custom animation witch was all cool and I tried several ways and I was positive I had it right with the correct files in the correct folder. Long story short it didn't work. But it didn't boot loop my phone either it just wiped the Samsung boot logo. I thought I'd revert it back with official files and it didn't work so I got a fladhable version still no luck. Anyone got any ideas?

Did you mount system first, and than flash the stock zip? This has worked for me earlier, if that doesn't work and you didn't make nandroid backup, flash the stock rom
But yes, try this first, when you get to twrp, go to option mount, than mount the system and than flash stock boot animation
