Kies does not recognize the AT&T update on my AT&T I337. It says current firmware not supported. Here is a screen shoot of the Kies software.
I was surprised to see that. The update seems fine, and I moved a bunch of folders to my SD card. Love it.

I do not know what BTU means, but I will try the factory reset today 7/14/2013. I did a Kies backup yesterday in preparation for the factory reset.

Got the same problem and i fixed it.
I flashed in the past a BTU over a Branded firmware and i forgot to do a factory reset. Disconnect the phone from the pc and reboot your pc (if you just put out the cable and reconnect kies still shows the error. When i did that Kies reconized my device as BTU and now it says my firmware is the latest version.
I am not sure if you installed a BTU over a Branded firmware but this is the way to fix it.

I just received my Samsung Galaxy S I9000 today and am using it as I charge it. I dialed *#1234# to see that I have the following firmware:
PDA: I9000XXJF3
Phone: I9000XXJF3
CSC: I9000OXAJF3
Can someone please tell me which firmware I should be upgrading to so that I have the most recent and least laggy firmware.
Cheers
What does Kies offer you with firmware update?
Kies does not let me do an update, possibly because of my region, I'm unsure. I live in New Zealand
JM1 official seems like a good one to go for, you may with some tweaking be able to get Kies to update. See this thread > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7807299#post7807299
So i used the ctrl+alt+u+p trick and it attempted to upgrade to JM1 but was unable to and gave me the error failed to convert to upgrade mode. do I need to boot my phone into some sort of upgrade mode or something?
I've been trying for 2 days to update to JM1, as kies said the firmware update was available for my phone.
I finally solved the "failed to convert to update mode" problem.
Basically, from what I spotted after installing and uninstalling kies a few times is that all the drivers for the phone install (modem, mass storage etc), except "usb composite device" maybe they forgot to bundle that specific drive in with kies?
Go here, download these drivers and install them. It will say they're already installed, but go ahead and install over the top.

Solved my headache!
hi, i followed the guide in the dev section and debranded my phone from 3 u.k but when i plug into kies it still show 3 fw and says cannot update even though i changed the csc aswell. is there anyway to get kies to recognise it properly as i didnt really want to keep manually having to flash the lastest fw thats why i de-branded so kies would do it auto!
edit found the solution after 1 hr searching....... odin update only
Spoof fw might help .
http://www.appbrain.com/app/spooffw/com.johnan.spooffw
Kies updates branded firmware with the correct product codes that match whats on the server not stock rom thats what i have always posted long long time .
Though some claim to have updated stock via Kies but if that was the norm we would not have the multitude of same posts and kies reg spoofing would not have been developed likewise Spoof FW
About forty personal tries with stock rom on SGS1 and 2 for me have always failed . Put back original rom always worked .

I have the same problem but I have fix it now, I just boot in recovery mode and wipe alle partition data, wipe alle date and factory , after that boot up in download mode and reflash in odin... and dont forget to delete kies in pc and delete samsung folders and usb driver before reinstall kies this work for me and kies reconize my phone and FW version now.
You did do a factory reset after changing to XEU csc didn't you?
I had no problems when I debranded my O2 handset a week ago - it's been recognised as a generic XEU handset ever since and I updated to KE7 via Kies.
Hi,
I just installed kies today and got a message that my tab (p7510) has not an official firware and cannot be updated. I bought the tab in canada and live in germany.
Afterwards I used odin to flash xwkg7 (only pda, not bootloader).
Since then Kies does not show the current firmware anymore. The field is blank.
Any ideas how I can fix this?
Klaus
I have the same problem.
I found the solution by myself.
I just flashed with odin "PDA". This caused that /system is overwritten, which is good. However, I did not install "CSC" which is usually also copied to /system. As a matter of fact, I didn´t have the csc stuff and this caused Kies to freak out.
Solution:
Use odin to flash PDA *and* CSC at the same time!
Never ever flash PDA alone, because then your csc files are gone.
Hope this will help someone
However, now Kies tells me that I do not have an official firmware version on my tab and thus no updates through Kies are supported. Damn... Ideas?
Hello Klaus,
This I had already tried again and got the message as you've described. Who can help us.
Hello everyone
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 with stock 4.3 android of BTU (MJ7).
I entered today Kies to check for updates (like I do every few days) and I got a message my device got a newer firmware.
OK so I clicked on update and accepted the terms and started the update.
At first it wrote "Downloading firmware upgrade components" and right after it showed the error "Failed to run firmware upgrade.Unknown error occurred."
I googled the problem and I tried already resetting the computer and the device, re-installing Kies3 and re-installing the USB drivers. Nothing helped.
Moreover, when I check for updates through the device settings it says I have the latest firmware.
My Knox flag is 0x0 and the device status is written as official.
I don't have any other computer to check.
So what is the problem and how to solve it?
Is my computer at fault? Or the device? Or Samsung's servers?
And why when I check through device settings it says I have already the latest firmware?
Thanks in advance
OK I solved the issue by disabling the Avast antivirus.
My only question now is why the OTA service said I have the latest firmware at the same time that Kies offered me an update?

Rule #1 Never update via KIES unless you don't know what are you doing...
KIES is for backup (what I never use) but all you need from them is samsung drivers... that's it

After searching the internet with the same problem I got so many responses some saying don't use kies, while others say kies is the way to go I decided to visit the Samsung website to see what they say about this particular error.
I had put in the link that will take you directly but am not yet allowed to do that as a new user.
anyway on the Samsung website I selected my mobile model etc till I got to a page where I got 2 options one to upgrade through kies or upgrade through fota. I chose kies. you will then see where it tells you to download the kies software. I had kies but I still took the choice to download.
during the download and installation process it will notice that u already have kies on your pc so it will ask you to remove these, you must agree to remove. from there just follow all the instructions, it worked my gt-s5830 has been updated from 2.2.1 to 2.3.3
hope this helps
if anyone has any issues with updating your mobile on kies, ensure your anti virus is off and you run the program as an administrator...it gave me hell on earth for hours.
used kies on windows 7
hope this helps
So here's my problem. I have a Rogers 900W8 and I've played around with it. I rooted it with Phiztouch, flashed Fusion and Gapps and didn't like it. Flashed back to OEM and no issue. Tried installing a stripped down version of Lollipop and found it had issues so I gave up and decided to flash back to OEM. My OEM software is from Sams and now my background apps are Bell on the second round. WTF?? I've downloaded every "roger" labeled file from Sams and everyone flashes the same. (via ODIN of course). The only reason I care is because I still have a credit on my Suretap sim card I want to use and now it won't acknowledge it. Help please

Keep it simple, use the Kies software, put your phone in Download mode, connect to PC/Mac, and then select under tools, emergency firmware recovery. Should go ahead and restore phone to original rogers state.
I tried you suggestion, didn't work. It won't let me attempt anything
So I played around and figured out how to get Kies3 to do the emergency software install. Turns out it was my old laptop having a software issue with 32bit windows.... my wifes newer laptop worked perfectly.
Now, I've done process and seen the issue. When Kies sees my software it clearly identifies Bell as the carrier specific. When I start the firmware install, by serial number.... It shows that RWC is now selected to install. Following thorough, the software gets downloaded and installed and It's still Bell..... WTF? When I plug back in to Kies to confirm, sure enough.... BMC pops up. Am I missing a step? Like a battery pull at a key moment?

Download the oldest rogers firmware there is ..after installing it go to the dialer and type in *#272*imei# then select rwc then phone will do a factory reset then you will have rogers apps then just do the over the the air update via wifi.
Hope that helps!!
