Thanks but thats not what I'm talking about. I can change the samsung bootscreen but after flashing several roms and various kernals I now get the custom and padlock screen before the regular bootscreen.

Yea, and there is even more information in the general and development sections for that issue.
Searching those forums for SysScope will give you the information you need.

Ok thanks for the quick reply!

To actually remove sysscope is alot of work. I took what was for me the easy way out. Odin back to stock. Re-root install recovery...ran triangle away..run restore of my nandroid backup..and success! Still custom status but the stupid custom padlock bootscreen is gone!!!!!

[Q] Does both versions of S4 have the same security feature of S3?

I am planning on rooting my phone the very moment I get it. But I am concerned regarding that Red Exclamation Point on boot-up that was recently incorporated with S3. If I flash any files for rooting, will I also get the same issue like the S3?
Yes. The current root methods I've seen trigger the boot warning.

So there is no way of removing that? And I doubt if TriangleAway will help.

none tripping counter stock root?????

looking to see if there is a rooting method that still allows you to use the allshare dongle and keeps the phone stock so that i can take otas using vodoo root kepper. Had this on my s3 and loved it
I second this! The triangle away method does not work.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Actually...... Your right, but still wrong. It resets the flash counter but makes the connection end still.
Resetting the flash counter is just another step or method to attempt to get all share cast to work (screen mirroring) while stock rooted.
Yea triangle away works fine

So you are asking this question about the S3 in a S4 forum?
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
No.....I am wanting to have the same setup on my s4....free wifi hot spot, root that does not trip the flash counter, the ablilty to use the cast dongle (use this at work alot) , and being able to take ota updates using something like vodoo...I have seen th cf root but no one has addressed whether this kills the dongle or not.....

Pardon me but, where is the flash counter?
I'm ona custom rom/kernel and don't see it in download mode. All I see in download mode is that it says binary and something else is custom.

Stock Recovery Flashable?

Hello,
Apologies if I didnt find it after searching but:
I was looking to get stock recovery back onto the S4. I know I can Odin back to stock but being that my phone is already set up it would be nice to just flash stock back and be happy
Thanks!

I'd you're wanting to remain rooted, then you will need a custom recovery.

I used to be on stock recovery rooted and was able to update ota while keeping root with ota rootkeeper... And stock recovery

Every rot method I've seen requires installing a custom recovery. Either twrp or cwm.

It's possible to extract the stock recovery from the Odin image and flash it independently. Check it out in this post. Be warned that it's only for AT&T S4's and it's possible to brick your device pretty badly if you flash the recovery to the wrong place.

yes, you will have to use the odin, and then root again. unless you're running a custom rom, then you will have to full wipe your device.

[Q] root for latest android 4.3 update?

I recently received the ota 4.3 update for my at&t gs4, but I've been dying to try cyanogen mod on my phone or at least be able to remove a little bloatware. Could anyone point me to a tutorial somewhere to root this thing if it's possible yet? I do have a little experience with flashing roms and rooting with my old samsung replenish, but only with odin... thanks.
-EDIT Also is kingo really malware like many people on xda say? And does kingo work with the new MJ9 build for AT&T's S4?
If you have a little experience flashing Roms than you'll be experienced in the art of Google search. There are many threads about this already

Works the same for att even though its for verizon. Same root method but beware it could add malicious stuff to your phone and computer. Do a little researching first before you do anything. Good luck

And even when your rooted there is still no custom recovery for 4.3...so no rom flashes are possible

Thanks for the link to the tutorial. I've been looking stuff up about vroot and apparently it contains some sort of trojan... I also read a comment on YouTube where someone with the at&t MJ9 build had success with it but what are the risks other than bricking?

Got rid of custom padlock on boot with wanam.

Thought I would share cuz it took me forever to figure it out but if you want to get rid of that custom padlock after root...you can use the Wanam Xposed Module. Just go into security hacks and check "fake system status" to make it"official" again. This might be old news but it took me forever to find something that worked.

Wanam does nothing on my note 3 your trick didn't work nor does any other feature this app offers. Strange

It does work, just did it this morning. Are you familiar with how to enable modules in the Xposed framework app (Go to modules and make sure that is is checked, then reboot.) Also for this particular module (And most that mess with boot stuff) a second reboot is required to see the changes.
Yep. .. That did it. .. Thanks

Are you on a custom ROM? I had it working on stock then flashed a ROM and it stopped; or should I say it worked intermittently . After this latest OTA I decided to remain stock and it's working fine again on every reboot ... Not saying that this is your issue, just thought I'd throw it out there.

I'm on stock MJE. Wanam is working now that I updated the module.
Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
Lol. I only used custom roms to be able to theme certain things....with wanam it works best on stock which so far keeps the phone working at its best for me anyway. Xposed is awesome IMO.
???Sent from my precious Samsung Galaxy Note 3???
Another great module for Xposed is called "Unicon". Lets you change your icons everywhere on your phone...even the lockscreen shortcuts and some settings icons. Uses icons from almost any launcher theme without having to change launchers.
???Sent from my precious Samsung Galaxy Note 3???
I've had this icon ever since I rooted this puppy. Never goes away. Even when I odin back to full stock firmware. Wanam only masks this. But it does not work for me, regardless. So how does one actually get this to go away other than odin stock flash? Cuz if I ever need to revert back for warranty, it's still gonna be there on my phone.
