looking to see if there is a rooting method that still allows you to use the allshare dongle and keeps the phone stock so that i can take otas using vodoo root kepper. Had this on my s3 and loved it
I second this! The triangle away method does not work.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Actually...... Your right, but still wrong. It resets the flash counter but makes the connection end still.
Resetting the flash counter is just another step or method to attempt to get all share cast to work (screen mirroring) while stock rooted.
Yea triangle away works fine

So you are asking this question about the S3 in a S4 forum?
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
No.....I am wanting to have the same setup on my s4....free wifi hot spot, root that does not trip the flash counter, the ablilty to use the cast dongle (use this at work alot) , and being able to take ota updates using something like vodoo...I have seen th cf root but no one has addressed whether this kills the dongle or not.....

Pardon me but, where is the flash counter?
I'm ona custom rom/kernel and don't see it in download mode. All I see in download mode is that it says binary and something else is custom.

I am planning on rooting my phone the very moment I get it. But I am concerned regarding that Red Exclamation Point on boot-up that was recently incorporated with S3. If I flash any files for rooting, will I also get the same issue like the S3?
Yes. The current root methods I've seen trigger the boot warning.

So there is no way of removing that? And I doubt if TriangleAway will help.

I can't see my flash counter anymore. Is it because the bootloader is locked in MF9?
It really doesn't matter to me but I was just wondering

Triangle Away isn't working on the MF9 update yet. I am sure it will get fixed in the next update.

Is there a way to know when the new Triangle Away is released? I have MF9 and want to root it, but concerned about the counter, should I need service?

Yeah, triangle away isn't compatible at this time and very possibly won't be in the future. I was looking online fir the USB jigs, but none of them say Galaxy s4. I would think they would all be the same, but I don't know. Anyone with that info??

All I know is the MF9 firmware is a pain in my a$$ to get rid of once its installed.
Maybe that's why it's "MF"9? Mine was MF9 when I got it, so I don't know what the prior release was like.

Ive looked at that and it says it resets the flash counter. I'm not new to rooting just never used triangle away. .so how exactly would this hide my root and I'm assuming that I would have to get rid of superuser as well and also install stock recovery?

You are better off uninstalling root if you are having warranty done. If they are replacing the phone then I would Odin a fresh stock rom onto it and factory reset.

Thought about it and this is what I would do. I would make a backup of the phone. I would Odin the MDL tar located here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2258107. I would do a factory reset. That way you remove all doubt and any possibility of them figuring you out. Once you get the phone back you just install custom recovery and restore your backup.
I just grabbed a note 3 and its on the latest software MJE( think thats right)..I tried rooting using the veg las vega thin, and it failed and I had to odin the stock files back to get phone working again. So my question is are there any root methods that are working with the MJE? Thank you in advance for all your help

You got usb debugging on ?
Is your computer recognizing your phone ? I would turn on allow unknown apps too
Make sure you have all drivers also I would restart phone while plugged in on computer and see if it installs recovery bootloader drivers also

If you need any further help with safestrap, flashing cust roms, or reverting back to stock for warranty, click the link in my SIG and all the links, threads, and step by steps are there. Glad you got rooted!
Hey guys! So i just switched from a sprint note 3 to a verizon note 3. I NEED root but my company uses mobile iron. Is there a way to use it and keep root?
Also whats the best way to root this? All I want is root no custom recover.
haha good bc cystom recovery isn't possible atm on retail verizon note 3. seems like vroot is the only way to go right now without tripping knox but do ur research.

believe it or not I like the stock rom (this is the first phone I have ever been able to say that with)
So vroot... hmmm I shall look into it. But I still need to know about the mobile iron.
well I should have been more specific we can flash roms and some mods with safestrap (a sorta of custom bootloader workaroundl). but we do not have the ability to flash custom kernels.

Try Rootcloak to hide root from the app. Works for another MDM software similar to that.
Edit:
Use the one from xposed framework. In not sure if the one from the play store works.
Can you link me to it?
