I have a ME860 with official 2.3.4 updated, i yesterday unlocked the Bootloader with IHOP_Bell.sbf and have CWM flashed successfully. But my phone booted into command line saying OS not detected and was stucked at the command line with 14modes available.
I got into Recovery and flashed to CM7(latest Bat2F.zip) and it completed without error. Now the command line says OS will Boot in 5 secs but is again stucked with Cold Boot Linux Reading ODM Fuse:1 displayed.
I am new to this can someone help me out here ? Thank you
Are you messing around with RSD at all?
Sent from my Atrix XDA Premium App
the only time i used RSD is to flash the IHOP_Bell.sbf to enable unlocking the bootloader. As for flashing the CWM i did tru the Fastboot command from the computer. After that I have never touch RSD at all.
the phone boots up showing unlocked on the top left of the screen. however what i found a bit strange was, right after i flashed the IHOP_bell.sbf, the phone always boots up in the bootloader mode. i thought it was normal that way, so from there i selected the fastboot mode and the phone did boot into fastboot. then i connect the USB cable and entered the fastboot oem unlock and successfully unlocked the phone.
after that, i flashed the CWM recovery mode using moto-fastboot flash recovery and it was done, and i am able to get into CWM recovery options too.
Actually i am thinking of flashing the HKTW fruitcake sbf, do u think it is a good idea ? or should i try something else first?
I wouldn't touch that. I personally never used that. I would wait till another user comments.
Sent from my Atrix XDA Premium App
i tried the fruitcake anyways, and it actually booted up !!
i took a look at the phone details. my phone is now MB860 instead of ME860 which i had b4. anyways there seems to be minor bug with this stock HKTW ROM cuz in the phone details , the version number has a userdebug name in it. so i guess thats way its not stable
will try to flash CM7 again
CM7 still not working, any ideas anyone ??

What CWM are you using? If it doesn't support ext4 that might be your problem. The things you've successfully flashed are all ext3.
Make sure you're using ROM Manager's or romracer's. Those are the only ones that support ext4.
Need to know what recovery you have installed & did you wipe data/factory rest & wipe both caches before flashing CM7????

thank you guys ! i was using this CWM recovery-en-goapk-0630-1029.zip
also from xda so i thought everything was good
so now i have CM7 up and running !!!!
I thought that was deprecated? I may be wrong
I use romracers and sometimes the one in rom manager

Hi all
Just wondering if anyone has a copy of the official Australian Razr M release firmware.
77.176.16.XT905.Telstra.en.AU
Always good to have a fallback system image!
Thanks in advance

Hi, I am also looking for the same firmware, managed to root the phone using Motofail2go but unable to use Clockworkmod to backup or load other firmware. Now when I try to Erase the phone I get the AP Fastboot Flash Mode (s) Device is looked Boot Failure. Luckily pressing the power button gets me back to a working phone. I have also unrooted the phone using DoomLord unrooting script but still the same boot up error. I know now the bootloader is locked by Motorola, this is why I need the original Telstra firmware.
I will donate $ 20 by Paypal to anyone that posts a working 77.176.16.XT905.Telstra.en.AU firmware that I can use and fixes the boot issue.

Out of curiosity what CWM did you try to flash?
You do know that you CAN unlock your bootloader right? exact same procedure as Razr I. Yeah the moto website doesn't mention telstra Razr M model blah blah blah it works as confirmed by Ausdroid editor in this thread.

Hi I used CWM from Google Play and selected the Motorola Photon Q from CWM, maybe a mistake but no RAZR M was listed.
I registerd on the Motorola site to get the unlock key but there is a quite a process to complete the excersice. Rather just have my stock rom back and forget about rooting for now.

I dunno how experienced you are at this so I apologise if I'm getting mixed up here but:
a.) You will NEVER flash ANY RECOVERY aside from stock without unlocking your bootloader, and you don't flash CWM from google play (not even sure what you're referring to!!!). You CAN flash recoveries from rom manager if your bootloader is unlocked and you have root.
b.) The only recovery I've seen around the place confirmed for Razr M (unlocked bootloader) is this one
http://aosp.us/?p=294
If you think the steps in unlocking bootloader is too hard you shouldn't even attempt it. Sorry to say but thats pretty much standard stuff for flashing recoveries etc. !!!! (having drivers installed, using fastboot via command line etc.)

Hi Thanks for your help and comments, I have rooted my old HTC Desire using Unrevoked in the past and flashed a Cyanogen mod and a LeeDroid mod without any problems so I thought I would try the RAZR M. Maybe the boot loader was different or not locked. I was able to go into recovery mode and select the cooked zipped roms from the SD card. I can not find any roms for the Aussie RAZR M either, I guess that is what you are looking for and concerned about updating the the JB from for the Verizon version as the radio may be different.
Anyway, the Motorola UI is not so bad and I especially like to start page with the circles. Hopefully JB update will come OTA soon. I hope that the JB update will return my phone to stock and the Bootloader error does not come up anymore. All is fine for now but if I have to wipe my phone and start again I can not do it. Have you ended up using your Motorola unlock code to unlock the boot loader ?
I am not completely a newbie

Thanks. did you mean now waiting, I guess u could mean either as apacheo has something available ? Looks like apacheo might be getting my $20 via paypal. So with the recommendation from apachio do I still have to unlock the booter. If yes, can this only be done via the Motorola site unlock code?
Will the stock Telstra image from apacheo fix my boot failure issue ? Will I need to have a rooted RAZR M and loader (TWRP) to load the file?
Thanks appreciate your help.
You shouldn't need to unblock bootloader to push the stock image. If its stock you should be able to flash it.
The whole point of unlocking is to be able to push NON OFFICIAL stuff however not having seen that image I can't confirm. e.g. Maybe because he extracted it himself its not signed like an official moto image so you may need to unlock.
If he has extracted a fastboot image it will INCLUDE stock recovery and you flash it via fastboot command line utility. Thats better than a ROM you have to flash with a recovery because it lets you roll back even if you screw your recovery.
All in all, ask him yourself, I'm only speculating based on first principles
BTW android manufacturers have gotten a lot more anal since desire, and yeah back then a lot of stuff was unlocked, now pretty much only Sammy ships unlocked bootloaders. I'd say that back then you could probably unlock the bootloader pretty easily so you don't remember jumping through hoops.

Hi Apacheo, thanks for the reply, my procedure was as per my first post yesterday. Using Clockworkmod Rom Manger app I picked the Motorola Photon Q for Flash Alternate Recovery as this was the only close Motorola phone to the Razr M. (MY BAD) Maybe that was the problem. I tried to back up the existing rom using Clockworkmod but again got the AP Fastboot Flashmode error.
How do I get the boot image and load that? Meanwhile I have unrooted the phone and can use it. Just can't do a factory data reset and start with a new slate if I have to. Just hangs on the AP Fastboot Flashmode (S) black and white Device is locked screen.
Thanks, I was hoping to lose that $20 to u.
Flashing the stock recovery using fastboot is probably the best start.
I'll upload the recovery image and post the URL here. Wait a moment.

No idea about RSDLite, you use Fastboot to flash that, and it's a raw dump of the Recovery partition. Flash it like this:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-file.raw
The extension is irrelevant, you could equally rename it .img (which is the standard for fastboot files) but it won't make any difference. It's not the whole Telstra ROM, just the recovery partition. The whole ROM would be something like 600 mb, and as I've modified my system partition (i.e. rooted it) you may not want that, and with only 3G internet, I couldn't upload it anyway

OK, I press vol up and vol down and press the power key at the same time. I get the menu boot load selection, availlable boot modes if I pick recovery or AP fastboot I still get back to the AP Fastboot Flashmode (s) screen Device is locked Status Code:0
I assume I get into recovery mode and use your raw file from my SD card to update the recovery partition. What am I doing wrong?
incorrect, you flash via fastboot command line in.... fastboot mode (not recovery mode)

1) is your device bootloader unlocked?
2) are you rooted?
If so I have methods to create a backup XML file for you.

If I had another, I'd just root it and dd the modem image off and flash it on the broken one.. sadly I don't
I managed to screw it up by flashing the VZW ICS stock, so I could get the JB update on.. I deliberately didn't flash the modem from the VZW ICS stock, and I modified the JB update so it wouldn't apply any changes to the modem... but seemingly, I missed a couple of lines (checking the updater-script, I missed a couple that messed with the modem) so it's completely wrecked. Says the SIM is invalid, and won't detect or connect to any UMTS or GSM carriers here.
If someone else with a rooted Aussie RAZR M is able to step up to assist, it'd be great.
I'll also PM you my details jdf.

I flashed it the same way you flash any image:
Fastboot flash recovery <recovery>.img
If your zips are made from the images then i doubt they will work. Plus, I dont have a recovery to flash them in.
Anyway the Photon Q recovery worked for one reboot then it was somehow overridden by the stock recovery. In other words: I flashed the Photon Q recovery via Rom Manager > rebooted into recovery via Rom Manager > from recovery, booted normally > rebooted into recovery and found it had reverted to the stock one.
The N7 originally had this issue. Ill look into how they fixed it. Found it...
You simply navigate to /system and delete or rename the file named: recovery-from-boot.p. Once you do that, reboot to download mode (fastboot) and flash the recovery like normal. Then reboot into recovery.
Upon exiting the recovery (OUDhs) it noticed that the system would potentially overwrite the recovery so it asked it i would like to disable it. I selected 'yes' as I obviously want to retain the custom recovery.

Was it Photon Q?
Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I wouldn't trust ROM Manager to properly flash a recovery on my phone after picking a different device.
Doing it with fastboot takes about 5 secs anyway.
I don't even remember I'm pretty certain it automatically said my device wasn't supported. I wouldn't have chosen a different model.

To install, you will need to be on the latest OTA (camera update).
Fastboot flash the original system.img and recovery, img
You can then use the volume down key to select "Recovery"
Once in recovery, press the power button and volume buttons together to bring up the menu, and select "Install from SDcard"
You can then select the OTA, and install it. Your phone will reboot, and you will have to do this again from the new recovery. You should then be able to reboot system and have your new 4.4 Kitkat Moto X!

Put the zip in internal storage. Go into stock recovery, install zip, choose this update zip. Because one of the first things it does it flash a new recovery, you have to go into recovery again and install zip again (the second time around it knows it doesn't have to flash the recovery).
Of course, since this way uses stock recovery, you have to be running stock.

Yes, you're going to lose root (the update will wipe out System). If you have an unlocked bootloader then it isn't a big deal -- just re-root after the update.
BUT don't try to flash this update with twrp installed. 1) I'm pretty sure it won't work anyway b/c it needs to verify that your System is stock and, at the very least, installing twrp changes the install-recovery script which is in System 2) this .zip file is made to be flashed from a stock recovery, so I'm not sure it would work 3) as I said before, part of this update is a new recovery - I'm not sure how well the process would go if you started from twrp
And how would I root after its done

I'm sorry, I've been assuming you have a Dev edition b/c you said you had twrp -- is that not the case? If you do NOT have a dev edition and you rooted via pwn- or rock- or whatever its called myMoto then NO, you will NOT be able to root after the update until someone releases another hack

I got this the second time (with the new recovery):
"Install aborted"
:|
Maybe the battery level is too low, so i'm gonna charge it a little and see what happens
PS: the "normal" OTA is downloading SO slow D: that's why i'm trying the one in this thread
------EDIT----
For some reason the download speed just increased, so i'm staying with it
I cannot flash this in TWRP right?
my phone is bootloader unlock, does it mean I can flash the third part recovery like TWRP, and use it?
MY guess yes..

TWRP will not work on the OTA, yet. However, there is a working CWM in the HD forum. I flashed it to my M and have zero issues with it.

I flashed the CWM recovery too...it does boot to recovery
but it seems to be some problem with CM11 package, the assert check shows my device ID is empty so the recovery just abort the installation.
I want to flash CM11-m6 snapshot....any ideas?

CM11 won't work if you've updated. Apparently, the boot loader is updated and the ROMs haven't been updated for it.

You have an unlocked BL, just flash SU to get root, and delete/freeze apps. That's pretty much what I did and used Xposed on top of that.
I haven't tried it yet, buy couldn't you just rsd back to an earlier build then flash your custom ROM?

I fastboot flash the lastest CWM recovery, but it didn't work for the CM 4.4.2 ROM, and twrp, it didn't work again. why? does the VFW rom change something?

None of the ROMs have been updated to work with the new recovery. Just give it time.

It means that none of the ROMs out right now will work with the new CWM. Also, quit trying flash TWRP. TWRP is not compatible with the new KK, yet.
Got it, many thanks

My xt907 Has the OTA 4.4 update and an unlocked BL. I don't have a custom recovery installed anymore. Is it possible to flash SU or superuser and get root with fastboot. If so. Please help! Thanks. I'm ok with flashing CWN if need be. I just want root to install a Xposed and remove bloatware.

I'm pretty sure you can use fastboot/ADB to sideload zips, though I'm not super familiar with the commands so I wouldn't know how to explain it to you.
I am familiar enough with the commands, but I am unable to find the zips to flash. any help would be great.
Thanks,
Egg all over the face
I was one of the people who thought it would be cool to update to the OTA immediately without waiting and reading... I got the CWM recovery going and rooted stock 4.2.2 , but I really cant wait for TWRP to get updated so I can get back to my Rom, or really any supported Rom would be better then stock. I have only myself to blame.

Looks like the new TWRP is here, but still needs one tweak. Please follow this thread for updates.
