I'm running a custom 4.2.2 GE ROM and want to return to my stock ROM. Currently my device has CWM as the recovery and is rooted. Am I able to just flash my stock ROM through odin? Should I use triangle away first, also do I need to install stock recovery? I have read the unroot guide and I understand how to flash just need to know the answers to these questions before I flash. Thank you in advance.

That TW recovery will be there but i m not vry sure that u can use the same on the Ge version rom thats the reason i told u to get back to stock and then work for TA etc for safety of ur device
Thanks for your quick replies, downloading my stock firmware now. Will post how it all goes.
Run Triangle away, clear the counter, go directly to download mode from there. Flash stock rom with odin (it includes everything including recovery rom modem kernel).
After it is done, go into recovery with the 3 button combo (this time you will see the standard stock recovery, do a factory reset there and you are set). Just remember, doing a factory reset in stock recovery also formats the internal sdcard (the internal phone storage), so be sure to have a backup of any files photos or whatever you have there because you will lose them.
Worked perfectly thank you both for your help.

it isn't possible to get back to stock recovery by just flashing a stock recover zip? Is flashing the complete stock rom the only way?

A little info to preface my question: my phone is rooted, still on MDL, and i'm running Slimbean, with TWRP as my recovery.
I looked at all the tutorials for running TriangleAway and how to unroot, but there is one thing i need clarification on before I pull the trigger. TriangleAway requires you to be both rooted and on a STOCK kernel and recovery before running it, but I have no clue how to return my kernel and recovery. How would I go about this?
Do I need to flash a stock MDL rom first, run TriangleAway, and then follow the unrooting process (via Odin)? Would this automatically reset my recovery and kernel, or is another step needed? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
I still haven't figured this out yet, does anyone know which rom/kernel/recovery to use?

odin in a stock rooted rom and stock recovery. should be able to find one in android development or general forums. triangle away. remove root by flashing stock unrooted tar via mobile odin ( mobile odin does not increase your flash counter). tada

I have an i9505 running stock Android 4.2.2 (JDQ39.I9505XXUBMF8) - rooted using CF-Auto-Root (jflte-jfltexx-gti9505 IIRC). My battery life is poor, and I was hoping that a ROM upgrade to 4.3 would help, but haven't flashed a ROM for a while. I was wondering if anyone could answer the following:
- First of all I guess I need to flash a recovery using Odin? Would Philz Touch Recovery be the best option, or is there a basic, more reliable Recovery mod?
- If I want to retain warranty, would it be best to flash a non-Knox ROM such as Omega v18? (which I believe leaves the original bootloader intact?)
- How can I tell whether or not I need to flash a new modem?
Is there anything else I should be careful/aware of when flashing the Recovery mod and ROM?

1. You can use either Philz recovery or twrp
2. If you want to retain a warranty You need to flash this http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23050663588004454 (Its a 4.2.2 pre-rooted rom) then download Triangle away to reset the binary and sent it for repair incase.
3. If you flash a Custom rom Omega, Golden, Echo, etc. you need to Flash a new 4.3 based modem to fix any data drop issues.
4. Never flash any 4.3 stock firmware from samsung via odin. =Newbootloader = Knox void warranty

Thanks for that. Do I flash the modem using Odin AFTER flashing the new ROM, or before flashing the ROM?

Actually it doesnt matter or you can just flash the modem and then the custom rom you want (Make sure to full wipe when your flashing any rom via recovery )and here's a modem http://www.mediafire.com/download/48r0rgqv25s8968/GSM_Modem_XXUEMFK_and_LTE_Modem_XXUBMH1.rar, download then extract and flash it via odin by selecting phone Make sure to turn of your phone manually before flashing via odin. Once your done check if your baseband version change into MKE . Have a nice day.
I'm going to flash the new ROM over my 4.4.2 S4 LTE. After flashing this new ROM, what are the necessary steps I should do to get my phone rooted?
Which are the compatible flashing/rooting programs to use for this new ROM?

Yes. That's the ROM I'm talking about. I've just flashed Philipz recovery using Odin and everything looking fine. However, I still get the default recovery and not the PhilipZ version.
Is the 5.0.1 not ready for the present recover like Chainfire or Philipz?

I had problems flashing recovery on stock kitkat. Used a workaround with Nandroid manager from play. But you need root for that..
Maybe try a different recovery. I don't see why PhilZ would be the only one to work with the 5.0 rooting method presented somewhere around the forum.
A recovery has nothing to do with the version of the rom you have flashed.
Uncheck auto-reboot before flashing the rom with Odin.

Hi,
I have rooted and installed TWRP on my 910F Note4 as I was fed up waiting on the lollipop update rolling out. I am currently on 4.4.4 and have made a full backup using TWRP of the stock rom.
My intention was flashing the Cyanogen ROM and using that, but i now see on sammobile there is a stock 5.01 rom available. I have a few questions about this.
1. If I flash to Cyanogen can I still revert back to the stock rom 4.4.4 I have made a backup with? I read somewhere there might be problems as I was on KitKat then moved to lollipop(Cyanogen).
2. Can I flash the stock lollipop rom from within TWRP? Or do you have to do this via ODIN?
3. If I flash the Lollipop stock ROM with Odin I assume I will lose root and TWRP? So this would have to done again?
Guess I am asking what is the best way to proceed?
Thanks again
Paul

hi Paul,
1. i beleve to flash CM from kitkat you will need to install the lollipop bootloader first.
2. You have to flash the stock rom via Odin, you will keep all apps settings and files but you will lose root (you u can re root in 3 minutes)
Best thing you could do is flash the stock rom first with odin, see how that feels (IMO its good been using it for months now) and then root it and back it up and flash CM12 (you dont have to flash any boatloader at this point)
grtz

Ok tried to flash Stock O2 UK lollipop ROM via ODIN and got error message on screen. MD5 too big or something. Had to pull battery on phone. Had to then reflash TWRP. Got back into TWRP and tried to do a recovery of the backup I took but phone is stuck at Galaxy note 4 screen. It then shuts down and restarts and gets to the same screen again.
Do I try a different ROM? What can I do?
Thanks
Paul

I got it working by flashing the German non branded ROM... Got the error message again but then used a "All samsung recovery.tar" as stated on another post in here and it booted fine eventually... Now on Lollipop. Now time to flash with TWRP.... Again!!!
Please, i need help !
I need help, urgently !
My Note 4 SM-N910C does not work. I can enter the Recovery and the Download Mode. When attempting to install a Custom ROM gives me an error that says I have no data. In the internal memory I have 0mb.
I tried using odin, but I can not .. Salta error.
Someone who can make a backup of your phone (which is factory), leave me a link to download it? So I install the TWRP. Please.
They have another solution?
Thank you.:good:

I believe that sammobile would have the stock rom, which if i remember correctly will automaticly flash stock recovery on flash.
But what problem do you have or why do you need a stock recovery, if i may ask ?

Flashed TWRP on my unrooted phone via Odin. Worked the first time round, and I was able to clear cache. Rebooted, and I've not been able to boot into recovery since. I can boot into download mode, but not recovery mode. Pressing the right buttons just boots up the phone normally. Haven't got root, so I can't use an app to boot into recovery.

Are you absolutely sure that you flashed the right version? I did the wrong version once since the website van be a bit confusing for some phones, a reflash with the right one with Odin saved me
I want to root my phone but it needs to install a custom recovery, if ever I want to get back the stock recovery...
Does flashing the stock rom replace the custom recovery with the stock recovery?
Sorry I'm a noob
Hi there
I didn't got everything but I'll try to help.
Get latest Odin : https://samsungodin.com/download/Odin3_v3.12.3.zip
Get a stock ROM: chose the right one for you
http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=SM-n910h
or
https://samsung-firmware.org/model/SM-N910H/
or
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-note4/SM-N910H/
Get TWRP: https://eu.dl.twrp.me/treltexx/twrp-3.1.1-0-treltexx.img.tar.html
Get Magisk:
https://dl.xda-developers.com/4/4/2....zip?key=ZHiP_JZ9z3O4YQoq9ammlg&ts=1522485842
Flash stock ROM.
Flash TWRP. (Knox 0x1)
Boot to recovery and backup.
Flash Magisk in TWRP.
You'll end up with a rooted stock ROM and custom recovery
Hope this may help

Take care to get the right ROM or you could brick your phone! All I said above apply to N910H ONLY!
For your device: www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-note-edge/SC-01G/
Maybe another ROM would fit but you have to find out in the other threads...
Sorry if I can't help you more but there are too many differents versions
