Google want people to use features of Google+ app instead of Latitude.
However the app is not compatible with stock G1 OTA firmware. Is there
any hope with custom firmware?

Hiya mate I'm already running CyanogenMod 6.1, I tried installing Google+ from Market and it does not install (no errors either). What rom works with it if CyanogenMod doesn't?!

Try CM7.2 (gingerbread). If that still doesn't work then it's probably because Google+ is only compatible with ICS+. In that case you can use the webapp instead, just visit plus.Google.com in your web browser.

i cant seem to find it. i am using froyo with sense
I don't see it in the market as well.
I just looked in the market and no dice. Searched for flash, and flash 10.1 and beta. The only thing that pops up is the Adobe Showcase which I already have installed.
I found it by searching for Flash.

Interesting, if you don't mind, could you go into settings > applications, and tell me what version beta 3 is? I'm running Flipz's 3.0 rom, and its showing version 10.1.72.7
i have it in the market. running CM6.
will this kill that Hulu app that was floating around here?

Not 100% positive, but i would think so, since everything i read on hulu required a hacked version of flash

How about a Titanium Backup of the APK for us non Nexus owners? Pretty please?
Sure wish I was seeing it in the Market with my N1. (Especially since I have a Google Apps account that they haven't migrated yet, so I can't use the web-based Market to install)
EDIT: Never mind. A search for "Netflix" brought up about 60 apps, of which the true Netflix app was about 60% of the way down the list. You'd think an app with the search term in both the app name and the developer name might rise to the top!

I just installed the .Apk and it installed correctly but I don't have a Netflix account so I can't test it properly but I'm going to guess video play back will not work in Canada.

I went to Android Market on my PC to find and download the official Groupon app to my Atrix. It's there, but when I select to install, on the list of phones my old Nexus One (listed as "Nexus One on AT&T") shows up as installable, but my current Atrix 4G is grayed out and won't install. I went to the Market on my Atrix, and the official Groupon app doesn't even show up there. Does anyone know if there is a reason why an app like Groupon would not be available for the Atrix? Thanks.

Sounds obvious, but (since it wasn't mentioned) have you tried installing from the Android market via the phone?

Wow! yes........ running it as I write, awesome indeed, but I think it is going to be more of a battery hog, not sure yet but it is 59% after 5 hours so, I ll update later.
I'm on MiUi, I like it. I wonder if I should give CM a try.
The GPS on MiUi requires a reboot every time for me to get it going, how about on CM-7?

cm can't include the market, so it's in the supplemental gapps zip.

For cm roms, they don't come with market, and to do that, you need market.
Gapps installs market + some framework support stuff for gapps.

same answer as above, but for those not aware, couple years ago Cyanogen (Steve) got a C&D order from Google. Apparently CM was becoming way too popular, so they asked he stop per XYZ... he found out he could get away with not including google apps/market and everything was kosher... so, hence the gapps.zip.
I do NOT find it fare everyone else can get away with it, but I guess a C&D order to the community is pretty bad... wonder if the person who thought doing this to Steve was a good idea is still employed.
Hi everyone
i know nexus 4 comes with stock rom from google, but there must be things that you recommend removing to keep the beast going at 100% pace.
also, i am a privacy geek and would love to know which of apps i should disable to give as least as possible to google?
at one point i remember a rom that was the stock android but it had all of google's collections bots/apps disabled. Cant seem to think of it

If you want to receive OTA updates then you have to keep all the apps but you can disable them.
I've disabled Google movies and magazines.
If you really want to avoid Google you should install cyanogen mod without the gapps. You won't require a gmail account to use your phone but that means you have to use alternative market places.
There are open source apps for almost everything but I've never used them so can't say. I know there is a open source maps app though but probably doesn't come close to Google apps.

It depends on how you define bloatware. Some see it as being anything preinstalled on the device that isn't absolutely necessary, which means that most of the GApps that come on the N4 are bloatware. Personally I disagree with that definition of bloatware but you can see why people may think that way.
