Hello there,
I hope you all doing well.
I have a problem that i couldn't resolve by simply goggling it so i was wondering if anyone can help me here.
I rooted my phone, I decided to try to restore to stock firmware, which i have done successively using Odin. I tried to install truly clean script to wipe out all bloatware which dint work. I tried to root device again and it failed. I tried to restore again to stock firmware and Odin now giving me the error message below:
<ID:0/004> Initialzation...
<ID:0/004> Get PIT for mapping..
<ID:0/004> Firmware update start..
<ID:0/004> aboot.mbn
<ID:0/004> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/004> FAIL (Auth)
<OSM> All Threads Completed. 9 succeed 0 / failed 1)
I tried 3 different computers, few different versions of drivers, i have original cable and as you saw it above i have this done successively once.
I tried 2 different Stock ROM files.
I am running out of ideas now.
My Device is:
- Galaxy S4, at&t; Mode: SGH-I337; Android version:4.2.2; Baseband: I337UCUAMF3; Kernel version:3.4.0-812098.
Once the Odin failed on my phone i see progress bar just started and in the appear right corner there is red colored message:
start [224. 140]
SW REV. CHECK FAIL : fused : 2 . Binary : 1
The good thing is i still can just reboot my phone and its still functional but i am not able to root it or do any custom ROM.
I also tried to put it in recovery mode and use option wipe cash partition, and it fails but the wipe data/factory settings works.
Anyone knows what have i done playing with this phone?
I just switched from Iphone to Galaxy S4 few days ago and im pretty new with this. Any help is appreciated.
Best,
Slavisha

The latest update blocks root. Looks like somewhere along the way you updated to MF3 which is the latest OTA released yesterday morning. I don't think you're gonna be able to downgrade, but don't take my word 100%, still researching.

This is correct. Up until this point, there's no known rooting method for the MF3 update.

Sorry Slavisha, it looks like you were a day late on rooting. Hopefully someone figures out a root method soon, however, it'll probably be tough. For purposes of Samsung Knox, this phone is designed to be as secure as possible. Samsung stands to profit greatly from the U.S. government based on the security of this phone (they're one of the front runners for providing mobile devices to our major agencies).

Thank you for looking in to this.
I spent literary last 12 hours trying to figure this out. Its 7AM here where i live and this is driving me crazy.
So, if i upgraded to newest firmware is that the reason why ODIN giving me that error message?
Thanks

Thank you for confirming this Chris.
I just have to wait for another option as far as of Rooting this device. Correct?
How about my attempt to downgrade the device to earlier version?
I bought this device 5 days ago so the stock software was probably older then one i have now.

Right. Wait is pretty much the most of us can do. I'm sure someone's working on it. You won't be able to downgrade through ODIN either, they made sure the MF3 update was "irreversible".

Unless I misunderstand your question you now have latest firmware
There was talk that Keis might be able to get you back if you use it before Samsung updates it. I didn't pay much attn but you could ask on the Software Update thread in General.

You still can try the thread mentioned and try to contact members scrosler and Aou. They have done a lot of work on OTA. I think scrosler has a working rom of OTA.

... and I have to say that I'm very happy with it!
It's kind of funny because it's just a larger version of the Galaxy S i9000 but also better in any respect. Froyo feels way better than Eclair and I can't feel any lags. I think this device is exactly what I ever wanted: something in between a smart phone and a netbook or laptop. There is no need to carry my laptop or my i9000 around in most cases.

Which firmware version do you have (I will edit the post with my version, I don't have my Galaxy here, it is anyway the more recent of the list of the apposite post)? I'm very happy with my TAB, BUT I'm looking forward for some lag fix (browser, scrolling, quadrant 960...). I'm tempted of trying a Galaxy S one...
I am very happy, too and i send back my WeTab. ;-)))

Got mine today also, One thing that really bugged me was the custom port to the charger instead of a micro USB port.
without that one stupid cable the whole tablet is dead, why make a propriety cable?
Other than that its amazing.

what the battery capacity has to do with charging interface?
please, if you are just guessing, then leave the comments like that just for yourself.
It's not a guess, it's a fact. It's not (or needs too much time) possible to charge via USB with a battery-capacity like 4400mAh.
Sounds silly, but that's what SAMSUNG said. Whatever ...

ONLY JHA is a full firmware. all the other firmwares on samfirwmare.com do not contain the dbdata.rfs file so they are not full firmwares.
if you bricked, first flash JHA with repartition and then flash newwer firmwares without repartition.

and how do I have to flash the samfirmware "updates"? I always get the RED ERROR in ordin..... (pit file? repart? )
If you were able to flash JHA (with PIT and repartition) then you should be able to flash to JI5 or JID without PIT and repartition.
I am on XXJI5 and was able to flash to JID without PIT or repartition and then flash back to XXJI5.
again, since currently only JHA has the dbdata.rfs file in it, it is the only firmware we have that can be flash with repartition selected.
If you check reparation and try to flash a firmware that does not have the dbdata.rfs file the device won't boot.

OK firstly, UDC Start is normal in Kitkat -
As for failing on the DBT update, you need to re-partition. Before you do this you need to re around regarding PIT files and how to re-partition your device. *warning* it isn't the easiest for things and you can mess up so make sure you read properly.

Here's the official Android 5.1.1 firmware, G920FXXU2BOFJ, truly meant for G920F. It's an Odin flashable TAR.
*Before* you go ahead and install it, know that you root is not available yet. Of course, it's a matter of time Chainfire figures his way out, but it's not possible right now. Further, you *CANNOT DOWNGRADE* to 5.0 back. So, keep these two things in mind.

Are you on the latest security update? I think the U firmware is patched up to May or so, these device bootloaders won't allow downgrading, maybe with the eng boot you can flash it, but from what I've been reading there's no going backwards, only flashing of the same updates or future.

I would assume so since they usually have the base the same, the V and other software versions are able to use it, so we should be too once it's on the same update level.

I think we're all surprised really, lol, but they missed us on the May patch, so we jumped straight to our current update. U isn't as popular as the carrier versions in the US, so that may also explain the slower updates.

Please let us know how flashing the new August U firmware goes for you. It does look like the new U devices are now on the V2 bootloader.
I have an official SM-G935U and after the update it says on the bootloader page RP SWREV: B2(2, 1, 1, 1, 1) K1 S1. My hope is that at some point I can flash the official T-Mo firmware to my G935U if the G935U falls behind in updates again.
CSC will wipe the device. HOME_CSC will not wipe the device, from what I understand.

Isn't the T-Mobile firmware on version 3 bootloader? That means the flash from T-Mobile to U won't work. BTW, I've already flashed from U to T-Mobile. I would not recommend flashing the Tmobile firmware because I still don't think it's possible to go back to U.

Not sure. What do your device show when you boot to download/bootloader mode?
EDIT: are you saying that you have an official SM-G935U that you flashed to T-Mobile's firmware and are now stuck on T-mobile's firmware -- and that you're trying to get back?

I get: AP SWREV: B3(2, 1, 1, 1, 1) K1 S2
EDIT: I have a Verizon S7 Edge which I flashed U firmware onto. Then I flashed T-Mobile's firmware and now I'm stuck. I want to get back to U.

Ah, then yeah - it looks like everyone aside from T-mobile are on V2 still. Sorry to have gotten your hopes up!

No problem. Hopefully the U firmware will eventually upgrade to bootloader version 3. I'm kind of scared that it may never be updated because T-Mobile updated it with the July patch, and the U firmware is already at August.

I tried to flash the latest U firmware on my G935T without success though. It stuck at the beginning and I had to restore it using "Switcher". It might happened because I checked "re-partition in Odin.

When did you try doing this?
Yesterday, about 1 p.m. EST
It looks like mine has BL 3 when the U firmware comes with BL2.
It's really sad but there is no way to flash it on my device.
God, this is a little infuriating. Why is the T-Mobile variant the only one on this new version of bootloader? This T-Mobile S7 is now officially more locked down than even the Verizon or AT&T variant, that's insane.

Could someone perform a light debloat (Knox and related apps) to the new official roms (or explain how to do it step by step)?
Thanks in advance
We can ask our friend @smaiarif

Yes, please, could someone check about the known issues? I've returned to 5.11, was totally frustrated.
Please check...
- Fingerprint
- random reboots
and report.
Thnx

Thank you for your help but my problem is not to flash an official rom but to prepare it removing knox and other unusefull bloatware (debloat) and then flash it

Hmmmm mines re-rooted after flashing this new firmware??
Flashed RC-SuperSU-c2.73-20160517124156.zip
I have now flashed this new firmware N915FYXXU1DPI3, it too early to tell if it resolves any of the issues of the previous firmware....
What I can tell you at the moment is that the phone seems to be getting hot, but not sure if this is because the ROM is settling down....
Marshmallow update has been an absolute disaster....
I hope this update fixes things. ...
Okay been running this new update since yesterday, no reboots. It's still not fast and is still laggy.... Not good... My note 2 knocks it into a cocked hat for usability...
Sent from my SM-N915FY using XDA-Developers mobile app
I still have soft reboots... albeit less frequently

Okay since my last post and the new firmware has settled down it still does the same thing, random soft reboots, I also have an intermittent problem with bluetooth, it seems to loose where it's up to and then speeds the song up to catch up with what I think is the time stamp....also when using the camera app sometimes whe taking a photo the phone shuts down and I have to pull the battery to restart it.
Same problems....I am at the point of selling this phone now as it becoming unusable for me.
Whats also more annoying is recently I flashed my NOTE2 with a new Rom and my S4 with Nugget, both are way more responsive then the Note Edge
Feeling disillusioned...

I see your point, but since I have returned to 5.1.1 I am really happy with this phone. And with my old Note 10.1 LTE it was the same: No support, no updates, and after flashing a custom rom it is again my dayly driver for games, work and movies. Love the Note family although Samsung really works hard on destroiing their reputation on it. So, I will stay with my note and 5.1.1.
Thnx for testing!
Hi
Is anyone have another download link, like mega?
Thank you
