So I got my SGS4 from BestBuy and they gave me a print out with my "Master Lock Code" on it, but there was another different 6-digit number just called "Lock Code." They both say the exact same thing after: "For accessing advanced features of your phone." (paraphrased)
What is this mystery Lock Code?
I'm not 100% but that sounds like your MSL code.

I know the "master" one is, but what's the other one?
Sent from my SGS4.
Dial-codes ##LockCode# and ##MasterLockCode# both work; however, dial-code ##3282# only accepts the Master Lock Code. I'm thinking one is less secure than the other.
Lock code allows you to edit the data settings after dialing #3282#. Be careful when messing with those. Hope that helps

That requires the Master and I'm well aware of that.

It was probably the OTLK, its like a master lockcode, but only used for programming as it will not work a second time after it has been used.

You're right (I assume), dialing ##LockCode# no works. It says "invalid lock code" whereas any other 6-digit number just gets ignored.
I spent many hrs on the phone with sprint and was able to get my msl only they didnt know that I would recognize what it was. Also I just realized that I can see my msl using the android root https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sa.root.toolkit&hl=en toolkit by scary alien.

Uh... the question has been answered. Even if it wasn't answered, you wouldn't have answered it. I wasn't asking how to get the MSL. I wasn't asking what the MSL is. I was asking what the second 6-digit number was. I know how to get my MSL -- without calling Sprint and without Best Buy printing it on the bill -- and I know what it is. But thanks all the same. :good:

I am not sure if people are aware of how to look at the device information when the dialer app is not available. On CDMA devices, you go into the memo app search function and do the ## commands. I believe they have to be the numeric equivalent so like ##DEBUG# would be ##33284#
What would be the benefit of this please? Thanks for the help!
Sent from my SCH-I800 using XDA App
From what I have seen, you can actually reset the device from there.
Gotcha...thanks, was just curious is all. Be great if we can figure out how to dial out...hopefully soon someone could be crazy enough to tackle it. Thanks again!

Dumb question ...how do I access the "memo" app? Is there a certain place I should be looking? Sorry...
Sent from my SCH-I800 using XDA App
Supposed to be under the Applications...check for Memo or Notepad. You put the codes in the search field. I don't have my tab yet so I can't say exactly. The reset would be ##786#.
I know that *#*#4636#*#* works for some general info on the phone, but what I would really like to do is recalibrate my touch screen. Anyway I can do that? Also, I think it would be a good idea to start gathering the list of the codes for the Evo Shift 4G. Anyone know of any other working codes?
NuAngel
##3282# to reset your data profile. Useful if your seeing very slow data speeds. My internet was crawling at a 150kb/s when I got the phone and now runs over 1mb/s after I did the reset.
Pick edit mode and type in your msl. Then pick data profile, push menu and hit restore.

Forgive me if this is different than what you're looking for but can't you recalibrate the screen under Menu>Language and Keyboard>Touch Input>Text Input>Calibration Tool?
#3: I didn't *think* that was what I was looking for, earlier today, but after trying it anyway, it really seems to have fine tuned the whole screen! I stumbled on to it this morning and tried it, I'm sure others will want to find a fix, someday. Thanks for posting!
#2: how does one obtain their MSL? On Windows Mobile I had a handy MSL Grabber. Is there a good one in the market?

I used MSL Reader from the market. You need root so I used z4root to get access.

Call Sprint and tell them you want it. Sometimes they'll ask why, but I have never been denied. I always tell them the truth. I like to reset and adjust things all the time. It has never failed.
Called Sprint today and asked. They said " No problem sir hold on....here is your MSL"
Thanks for the tip. Glad to know it's that easy!

In Supreme Sense and MikShifted-G its in menu*settings*display to calibrate the screen and to calibrate the keyboard its in menu*settings*language and keyboard*touch input*calibration tools....maybe if your just stock rooted you could de odexed the settings.apk from a rom that has this setting and push it to system/app then reboot and it could work

My Nexus 4 was stolen a few hours back.. I have activated the android device manager but I had only activated the remote ring option. The remote lock and wipe options aren't activated.. As I see this options are greyed out...
Now what I am requesting help here is:
1. If the thief changes the Sim card, can I still track the location of phone using device manager? I called Google helpline and they confirmed this but I am not sure if they understood my question correctly.
2. All my Google and other passwords are saved on the device. So if I change my Google account password, can I still access the android device manager remotely?
I couldn't find these specific answers online hence creating this new thread... Any inputs are appreciated!

If you use Android Device Manager you should be able to see where the device is right now.
Adm won't show where my stolen phone is. I can make it ring apparently, that's it.

Looks like the device is off as the location is not updating. Or is it possible that the @s$%&# has deleted my Google account - will that remove my remote access to the device manager as well?
Also can anybody answer my 2nd question: if I change my Google account password, can I still access the android device manager remotely?

First let me start off by saying I am not responsible for YOU unlocking your boot loader and then flashing something that blows your phone up so please do all this under your OWN supervision haha.
NOW..
I have used this method sucsesfully on about 8 ultras now and works every time as long as steps are followed correctly.. If something does not make sense just ask instead if saying how it does not work.. See screen shots below of proof thanks
THIS MAY WORK ON ALL MOTOROLA DEVICES BUT DONT QUOTE ME ALLTHOUGH I HAVE ALSO DONE THIS ON A AT&T MOTO X AND A AT&T/CRICKET MOTO G BOTH FIRST GENS.. AND BOTH ON 4.4.4
1 use chrome
2 when you copy your key from fastboot make sure you copy ONLY I repeat ONLY the spaces that contain the numbers all the way to where the last line of 7 zeros remains that's it don't copy any extra spaces at all if you do it won't work and you'll have to start over DO NOT COPY THE LAST 7 ZEROS TYPE THEM IN MANUALLY
3 paste the number you copied from fastboot into the box on Motorola
4 type in the remaining 7 zeros manually
5 DO NOT FORGET THIS PART go through the number that has been now imputed into the box and make sure that there is no spaces in it BECAUSE I PROMISE YOU THERE IS AT LEAST 3
6 IMPORTANT when you feel like you have the number entered correctly DO NOT PRESS CHECK TO SEE IF MY DEVICE IS ELIGIBLE DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT.. go down to the bottom click accept and hit enter and then something will pop up on the screen that will say this will void your warranty PRESS OK now you should be able to continue normally to unlock the boot loader
If for some reason you get any error codes like 404 or whatever you need to clear all your history and catch and stuff and try again REMEMBER THIS ONLY WORKS WITH CHROME FOR SOME REASON.

I just tried something a bit different with the Moto X 2014 and I am still getting the 404 error.
After typing in the unlock data I received in fastboot, I scroll down and click the radio button on I agree. Then right click and select inspect element. I can see the HTML code for the button to appear for request unlock code. I edit noshow to show and remove disable and the button appears. Still when I click it I get the 404 error. But at least I can make the button appear.

Rather skeptical. Tricking jquery to show a button doesn't force the system to generate an unlock code for you. That would work if it was generated client side, which of course it is not.
