Hi all. In a few weeks I will be buying a sim free Galaxy S4. I am thinking about getting the LTE model, AKA the I9505. My question is, will 3g work on this model because I plan on using 3g until the price of 4g comes down.
Yes this will work, every mobile phone supports this.

Yes you will have no problems.
Odd that you get charged more for a 4g services than a 3g service. doesnt work that way here in OZ really just gotta be lucky to get 4g connections lol
Yes it will work! I have the 4G LTE version, too. And I use a 3G flatrate, because here in Germany 4G is very expensive... :crying:
3g will work

This is probably a fairly noob question, but I couldn't find a direct answer to it.
If I buy the Samsung Galaxy S2 4G from Bell or Virgin, will I still be able to use the 4G connection with Telus?
If they use the same bands, there shouldnt be an issue.
They share their networks so ya, same bands.

Running mine on Telus no problem, Speedtest about 2500 down, just about the same I was getting with my T959D in downtown Vancouver.
Does Nexus 7 4G compatible with 3G too.
Can anyone of you let me know the 3G frequency it will support?
As per tech crunch page, it has been mentioned as 3G compatible.

Thanks..
In my experiments it shows HSPA on both US AT&T and T-Mobile. Most likely it is the same as Nexus 4.

Thanks for your reply.
Does it work in UMTS or 2100Mhz?
Currently using my USA purchased N7 in Malaysia. Works great here. On a train trip the other day I noticed the following indicators above the bars, depending where I was. G,E,3G,H. HSPA speed is good.

Is it true ths the international version wont work on verizon 4gLTE . I am in NYC , I have verizon and debating on which version to get. I so can wait to get rid of this bio
yes, that's correct. Verizon doesn't even use SIM cards.. so you won't be able to use it.
the only network that might get it is AT&T. T-Mobile can use the phone, but only with 2G, so if you really want octa version, you'll have to switch to AT&T. this said, you'll get 3G, but whether or not you'll get LTE is another thing.. the rest of the world is pretty far behind us in LTE sadly..

What the bleeding hell is a 4G sim? 4G is a combination of having a 4G modem, Frequencies unlocked in the firmware, and having a 4G subscription.
If you have a branded device, your provider has to unlock it first with an update.

I had to ask for a new SIM card to use 4G, because my old, very very old, SIM didn't work with it.
Don't ask me why, but that's how it was. I used the old SIM with the Note 3 for 2 weeks and i didn't get 4g once. With the new SIM i get 4g at home.
Don't know if it's the case with OP, just sharing my experience.
this is what I am getting..any opinions?

That's normal, old SIMcards are the cause of many issues in newer smartphones. Anything from severe battery drain to freezes, reboots and network problems.

Well obviously, as prepaid does not get 4g. But the compatibility is in the plan that is linked to your number, not the piece of plastic you stick in your phone.

hi,guys!
I want to buy a samsung galaxy note3 N9005,and i'm using Tmobile now.
But i don't know does it compatible to Tmobile 4g/HSPA+ newtork?
i saw in negri electronics,they said it doesn't work in tmobile's 4G.
So can you guys tell me about that? does note 3 N9005 work in Tmobile's 4G?
Thanks a lot.
I thought I read somewhere that the processor is comparable with all current LTE bands and all you had to do was flash a T-Mobile modem.
Don't quote me on that though because I don't want to be responsible for a broken note 3. Try using search on xda or ask in the T-Mobile note 3 forum. I know the info is around here somewhere.

It will work except for LTE, and you might be able to enable the LTE by flashing a T-Mo modem. I have the N900T with an N9005 ROM and it works great, still with T-Mo modem. N9005 ROM doesn't have the LTE indicator but if it says 4G that means LTE.
