[Q] Would Fitbit Flex work with Nexus 7? - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone,
I'd like to buy a Fitbit Flex, but I wanted to know if it would work with my Nexus 7 for syncing... If I recall correctly, with Android 4.3 there is support for BT4.0, but would the Nexus 7 get it?
Thanks,
Tiwiz

I think it will eventually support bt4.0. If the N7 doesnt get the 4.3 update directly from google, there will definately be at least an unnofficial 4.3 rom.
Id say go for it if your willing to wait for 4.3

I really want to know the state of this, because although it will get 4.3 no one has said what bluetooth spec it will get. As we know, the Galaxy Nexus has the right hardware but has been left with BT3 so will the Nexus 7 suffer the same fate?

Looks like it is working through a modded version of the FitBit tracker app. Check out this forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2492436

Question about android on htc hd2

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and don't no much about hacking htc phones or rooting. I have an iphone 3G which i jailbroke and i am familiar with iphone hack terms. But whereas htc hack terms i dont understand much..But recently i just saw a video where the htc hd2 was ported to android.I was wondering if the devs successfully port android to the htc hd2 will it completely replace the WinMo OS or...how will that work? The reason why I'm wondering is because I'm certainly on WIND carrier and this is one of the phones that are supported. So basically should i wait for the port to be released and get a htc hd2 because i dont want it to crash this will be my main phone or should i go with a nexus one. I just want a android supported phone. Either htc hd2 or nexus one.
THXXX in advance
srry if this is the wrong forum for this post
Go with a Nexus One. The Android port won't be 100% working for a long time.

Agree. You're better off with the nexus one, or any other android phone.

The LTE was disabled by Google since it wasnt approved in first place.
Also, there is a good sticky about rooting. I suggest you go read it.
i read that sticky already - it really was much easier before !
been playing with the phone for a while - stock experience is much better then before - almost usable, but i cannot use a stock phone never have and never will,l i had no idea that things have changed that much since the introduction or i wouldnt have bought it - oh well will sell it and buy another note 2 tomorrow to use for the time until the developers can get the phone functions and bluetooth running on my galaxy tab 7.7 on paranoidandroid 3, thanks for the help

You can flash one of the older radios to re-enable LTE, that works for that and just use the toolkit despite it not saying it doesn't support your current firmware, it works fine, unless you'd prefer doing everything manually via command line, if you're that experienced like I am, you can just go that route.

Could an Optimus G Rom be ported?

Hi everyone, just a query. I've seen a past attempt at an Optimus G Rom port that booted and had some radio issues. My question is simply, could a full Rom port be possible?
While the Optimus G UI is not as good looking as AOSP, it does have some nice looking features particularly for the camera (since the AT&T Optimus G and Nexus 4 share the most similar hardware, camera should be able to work). I think this would be a great mod to have, features like Q-slide multitasking would be fun to try.
So what so the devs say? Could this happen?

It could be. One problem is the Optimus G barely recieved a 4.1 jellybean update whereas we are on 4.2.2. By the time the Optimus G recieves 4.2.2, at the rate it took them to release 4.1, we will probably be on 5.0 KLP and as you should know 4.2 kernels won't simply boot a 4.1 ROM.
It will be hard to fully port and may not be worth the effort in the end
Hi,
Take a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2175663
To give you an answer from my best judgement is yes certainly can. And as a matter of fact I was , when I get set up and the time, going to try my hand at some "Ports" as I know it will require much more work than I'm used to on S3 to another carrier S3 by long shot but knowing for a first port for me on nexus ever I figured why not try LGS G? I do understand where the other post is coming from but that will be where I would most probably stick with the 4.2.1 anyway. I'll see. Pm me if you want to collaborate and I'll try and get some time this week. Been up all night piloting these threads as I can't sleep from a hernia lol...but I'll check tomorrow or this afternoon...peace. BTW I have brand new computer but its not much of upgrade as I couldn't afford to replace the one I had and I didn't want to pay much but its stupid windows 8 and I want to go in first and disable all the crap and then DL SDK adb and kitchen utilities etc I had on old broken laptop...edit..now I see where the guy is talking about the g. Damn yes its only on 4.1 and not 4.2.1?? OK. I'll look...

Thanks everyone, seems like we need the Optimus G to get 4.2.2 for it to be easy enough to get working, till then it could work but it seems like a lot of effort for the devs. When the time comes though I pray someone gets it working, we all love to experiment, and to be honest I think the LG camera app with more features will be better..

In this case, should I update to 4.3?

Hi guys, I just got a Nexus 4, and its my first android smartphone. So my question is, should I update to 4.3 right now? I didn't installed any apps yet, cause I wanted to ask here before doing anything (I've been reading this forum since I ordered my Nexus). Is there any chance of a new update coming soon to fix the problems a lot of people are reporting here? If yes I think I should wait for it, but if not, should I update even with a lot of problems been reported?
Thx a lot
Yes I would probably go ahead update if I just the phone. There aren't a lot of problems with the new 4.3. Its just complicated for people to go from custom 4.2.2 ROM to 4.3.

Thx I think I will update it then!
Be aware that there might be some issues between applications and android 4.3 still.

Netflix is one of them with a nasty sleep of death. But its not a problem on 4.3 persay, its a problem with the developers and needing them to update.
Nexus = beta testers
I'm in the same boat, I've got a new Nexus 4 and I haven't updated yet due to the issues being raised. Is there any real concern about the batteries burning out or the Wifi being finicky?
I haven't done any customization, and if the only issue is that the apps aren't updated to work with 4.3, then that's not a real concern for me.

I have been running 4.3 (first stock, then custom ROMs) for more than three weeks and have not seen any problems with wi-fi connectivity or battery overheating.

Question about Galaxy Camera EK-GC100 custom firmware

I find a lot about people trying to update it to 4.1.2, but then it goes quiet, does anyone know where I can get a more modern firmware for it? (or how to build one if I have to?) I've honestly never been a fan of 4 because of how many issues there are with it, considering that the s3 has android 9 customs made for it (and the camera is basically built on that hardware) I don't believe the question is out of luck...

Has anyone been able to upgrade it to Android 7 or over?
Would the S3 upgrades work?
