Hello everyone, devs and non devs. I have a question for the people who has encountered this field of area before, I'm working in on my final year project with MSP430 and TRF7970A (from TI ) kit. The kit can read most of every UID from NFC tags, Mifare cards and smartphones UID.
Here's the problem, whenever I try to read a smartphone UID ( mine is HTC One X - rooted and powered by AOKP 4.2.2 by Ice Cold Jelly ), it's UID changes all the time. I want to how the way how to have the UID stay in a fixed value, and why does the UID always changing ? ( it's gotta be a reason why ).
I'm bound to XDA and dying for the thirst of knowledge, I trust you guys on this. :good:
Please discuss, I welcome everyone who is interested in working with software and circuit interations. Have a nice day

Hi all xda members, i just like to help you to solve your problems as fast as possible. Being answered correctly and being solved fastly and accurately.
I am putting this because i had found large number of posts in which people got in trouble, just because they havent asked their doubts correctly. Also not all phones have same specifications so that a common answer may not be applicable for every one to solve problems.
So its all about the way of asking a question in the forum. Please read and follow these whether you are posting a new thread or just in middle of a discussion.
Always read stickies before you post. They are put on top because they can solve most of your doubts, and they can help you to understand what you should/ shouldn't do.
Before asking a question please mention your wildfire specifications including.
Rom
Kernal
Radio
Hboot
S-on / s- off
Tweaks / coustomizations you installed.
Memory card partitions info.
Then you must explain what happened, when you try what.
Eg. My phone got boot loop error when i installed "xxxx script"
If you are trying to learn some thing never ask in parts, ask fully.
Eg. I want to flash a new custom rom, so from where i should start. And never ask like this ; "i cant instal xxxx rom in my phone. Pls help".
Just make intentions clearely.
Dont blame those who helped you for the reason that they asked you to do a thing and you have done some thing else, which may caused you some problems.
Always remember that a straight and clear question will always give you a staight and clear answer.
If you follow these ways of asking questions , i assure that you may not get into trouble.so folow these simple rules. Be happy.
Regards
Shah.
Good point.
Rom: htc_wwe 2.22.405.1
Kernel: 2.6.32.21-g0f9e9b5 [email protected] #1 Tue Nov 30 13:53:39 CST 2010(!) sooo last year
Radio: well yeah it has a radio I'm pretty sure
Hboot: 0.80.0002
S-on / s- off: ON
Tweaks: replaced sense launcher with launcher2+protips from AVD, rooted, installed live wallpaper support, 'bout it.
So, how come the development board is just for posting ROMs and not for instance custom apps or other app-not-rom related hacking? htc_wwe is different from aosp, you know.
Mmmmm because there is a section called wildfire themes and apps.

Yes, but looking at it as a development board the snr is abysmal.
Most wildfire developers have moved on to bigger and better phones, what we have left is a small group of equally talented and dedicated developers who are still trying to squeeze life from our "old" phones, there's the app section here which isn't very active because most of the people that can develop for wildfire are busy working on roms.
There is another section on xda called android apps and games I think, that's where I find new apps that are currently being developed.

Well, on average I use a phone for 3 years before moving to a newer model. But as an app developer it's sad to see that for Android you really need to have several different devices in order to truly make your app work for everyone. The Java mantra "write once - run everywhere" does NOT apply (nor does it really work that way on any java platform for that matter). How many times do you read comments such as "does not work on my droid incredible! Bloody murder and death!" in the market? The safest way to make any app is to use HTML, CSS, JavaScript, some other language which begins with a P and a good database to go with it such as PostgreSQL. This has the huge advantage of a more direct "delivery model" as well, rather then going through a market and hoping that someone will find you (and install the updates later on).
Or maybe I suck as a developer and should rather be doing something else. Though many (perhaps even most) apps on the market have likely been written by even bigger idiots then me.
I agree its a daft model, half the apps the market wont let me download because of screen Res etc etc work absolutely fine and a quarter of the other half could probably be fixed by simply decompiling and making slight adjustments to the code, now I'm not a developer, never will be but I can read instructions well and am pretty sure I could make slight adjustments myself but the point is I shouldn't have to..........

You would have to reverse-engineer the apk back to readable Java, make sense of it all, hack it and hopefully it'll work when you get it to run again. Most of the time, it's probably not going to be worthwhile. For small UI changes you'd only have to decompile the resources and fix the layouts most of the time. This is how crude theme hacks are done (by changing the style xml).
But if it's for a phone, it's still just that. The apparatus was designed as a communication device to tell Scotty 2 to beam up and it does that brilliantly (although there aren't any spaceships flying around the galaxy quite yet that we know of). I counted 211 apps on mine (in the "drawer") so even if I theoretically had 8 hours of time to spend with my phone every day I'd still only have 2 minutes and 16 seconds to play with each one including startup and teardown time until the next day. But as a matter of fact I, for one, do use activities not related to communications more often then those which do. Android tablets (even pre-honeycomb ones) make perfect sense.
tl;dr: don't
Beeing using the Nexus s I9020T with ICS for a while now, tought i share what i think of them working together. this is not a technical review with scores and such so please don't expect such information here. in fact i'm not going to mention any of the developers, kernel or ROM names here.
Background
Had Nexus one, when the Nexus S arrived i sold it and bought the NS.
I really liked the N1 and it was not easy to let it go, i liked how it felt in my hand and it was a good device... anyway... i tried many roms (almost any ROM and Kernel that were available at that time) with the N1, and then with the NS. these two devices had almost any ROM flashed to them day and night.
Almost there
at the beginning there was no official ICS rom for the NS nor even a full SDK source
but some PORTS where around so i had to try them out.
liked the way it looks but that's it. no stability, many bugs. not for daily use... not even for a night use. going from one build to another didn't make any difference. for example: none of the PORTS managed to activate the Bluetooth device. there was a missing driver (binary) and none of the developers managed to overcome the problem.
ICS SDK
At first a full SDK was released. Builds were a bit better but not enough.
still couldn't use it every day and always had to go back to 2.3.7
at this point i thought: "well i guess i'l have to wait for google to release an official OTA update and then i'll see some real action right ?"
well that was not just a thought but more like logic with a bit of knowing how google usually works. i thought that when google will release an official version for the NS it will probably run smoother because it will have hardware acceleration and google will put a new kernel, and they will make sure it runs well
ICS OTA
"What a great day" i stupidly thought to myself. "finally a new version for my device" i was so stupidly proud (like i made this phone or something) anyway...
i just went from smiling to almost crying ... "Thats it ?" i yelled at it (my NS) "Is that all you got ? What is going on here ? is this for real ? it can't be ... the update.zip file must be fake ! (didn't really think it was a fake...) it can't be it ? this is it ? this is ICS ? slow, unresponsive, slow, and slow ? that's all there is ? and in addition to that it was very very slow...
"ICS Roms"
Used all custom ICS roms available and any tweaked kernel that i found. yet,
still too slow for me...
my current Rom and kernel are the fastest i could find and don't get me wrong it is stable,no bugs and i use it daily. but after using gingerbread for so long, i guess i got use to the speed too much, after using it for a week, i'm starting to get use to it i can't say that it is great for me now... but i'm not giving up !
Calling All Devs
Hopefully we will start seeing some tweaked kernel and optimized custom roms soon. for now my NS will rest ... just for now...

Hi Folks,
I wanted to start by saying I love the Slimrom builds. To date I have them installed and running on my SGS2 & SGS3 - I love the fact that I can have exactly the same interface between 2 handsets without the interference of Samsungs design "gurus" (when will they allow us to turn off the touch wizz interface and go "Stock"?).
Anyway - I've been trying to piece together a build for my S4 Active, unfortunately... I am a biff (actually I just don't have the time anymore I work away 5 nights a week).
I know LeJay, spegelius, ohwarumbloss have managed to develop a pretty stable version of CM that I'm running at the moment - but I and I'm sure most of the other S4A users out there would really appreciate if one of the " major rom" developers would show our device some love.... It has the potential to be a fantastic phone if someone could just see their way to helping us?
Not a moan.... more of a grovel on bended knee...... PLEASE????
I'll even donate my time to testing the builds........

Hi just found this post yesterday. He seems to have a workin rom. All fame goes to him "spegelius" : http://forum.slimroms.net/topic/100-galaxy-s4-active/#entry4479
The new Galaxy s4 i9515 is the new s4 model which totally replaced the i9505 - at least in Europe as reported by many users - Some progress has been made on a cm11 rom but still wifi and bt are to be fixed. Wifi, bt and touch use different hardware module from other s4 models.
There are (were?) only one or two developers, and the numer of owners is constantly increasing. Will there be some dev interested in taking care of this and building a fully working kernel for our device? Thanks!
When I decided to get an s4 I looked here for Roms, and I thought that the s4 would be a good decision. After I get it I saw that there is only The i9515 model. No Roms.... Very bad for me, and I am not the only one with this problem.
It would be awsome if we could get Roms for our device.
Phil2sat has been making almost all the work, if anybody is able to help on. In the kernel build he posted here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2768285&page=63 (post 627)
The only important thing to be fixed is wifi. Bluetooth driver in kernel is working but he gets smd3 not accessible error. Maybe (hopefully not) he's abandoned the project, if anybody is able to fix this last issues...
A user claims the wifi module is the same as the one provided on galaxy s5 (don't know how to verify this), but if so it could be helpful.
Hello to everyone, my Xperia Arc S was ,,hidden" in my drawer for almost 2 years and I wouldn't change this if my primary smarphone wasn't broken. Now I have to send it to the service (warranty) and therefore I have to use my Xperia Arc S again. Currently, I have some version of gigerbread installed on it but I need something above Ice Cream Sandwich and I remember how laggy the ICS was . Therefore I hope this improved with Jelly Bean, KitKat or Lollipop, which I haven't tested on this device yet...
Thus, I would really appreciate if anyone told me which version of Android, or specifically which ROM (according to your experience), is the fastest and the most stable one on this device (except for Gingebread) because I don't have time to test it by myself.... (My smartphone was sent for a warranty a few hours ago)
Thanks in Advance,
Dominik

I hope you are satisfied - your answer is an absolute waste of time....
I said I didn't have time to test it by myself moreover I didn't use this device for almost 2 years and therefore I don't know what's new and I have absolutely no experience with new ROMs... And yeah, I do not have time to find it out a gain any experience... Therefore I wanted to gather some user experience with individual systems (ICS, JB, KK or Lollipop) or specifically ROM and then choose the most suitable one for me...
Your answer was appropriate 3 and more years ago when this device was a higher-end smartphone and new ROMs were cooked/developed every day and owners of this device were just too lazy to find the best ROM for them and therefore they asked others, but now it is just a bu*****... :good:
But it seems, nobody else is going to answer me, so I'm grateful for your answer anyway. Moreover I slightly modified the original post so that it will fit your comments...

Before you say my answer was a waste of time, check if your question was allowed in the first place. The forums specifically mentioned this type of ROM comparison thread was never allowed in the first place. If you have the time to ask a question, you do not have the time to read?
Sorry, regardless if it was 3 or more years ago or recently, the rule still stands. Your stand that it is bu****** is moot.
Mod, please close thread.
