Hey guys, is it possible to flash CWM via stock recovery using update.zip method and then flash a custom ROM for example finless, from what I've read this isn't possible because finless resizes the partitions can this not be done with CWM? And what custom roms are available that will flash directly via CWM or must first custom ROM be flashed via OTG?
Thanks in advance guys!

I flashed cwm that way and it worked on my mk809ii. Then flashed superSU in cwm and that's as far as I've got, not flashed another rom yet...

Thanks for the info which version of CWM did you flash? Does it have the partition int /ext sd card option?

I flashed this one:

Not sure if it has that option, will check when I'm back home...

I'm still waiting on my 809 to be delivered I already have that CWM thanks and the option should come under advanced
Hopefully if I'm right a PC won't be needed to flash finless first time

I'm currently looking at this thread considering flashing a finless ROM with cwm:

Yes, for now I'm just happy I was able to flash cwm and root without a windows PC - I'll be trying out leolas instructions for flashing finless 1.7a or 1.7b via cwm (haven't decided yet). Will be sure to post my results...

Let me know how it goes and which ROM works best

Will do. I'm basically pretty happy with the stick just stock rooted for my main purpose (HD media player) but I would enjoy more space for apps and getting a bit more performance out of the hardware so I'll inevitably be trying to flash finless in the days ahead...

Hmm used the update.zip method and seems it's bricked, just black screens after 2 penguins flashing the cwm zip you linked to

Hello
Did you manage to unbrick the MK809II ?
If so can you tell me how did you do it ?
Thanks
Have you tried the mk808 unbrick method, think the reset switch on the 809ii does the same as shorting in the nand

I'm running a totally stock Sprint Galaxy S4. I recently updated my firmware and I'm now unable to connect to Odin or use MTP for file transfer. My phone will mount as a camera. I have used various cables to rule that out. I also went to the Samsung website to get the latest usb drivers. I went so far as to wipe my phone too. Does anyone know how to fix this? I would like to root my phone. I have a stock recovery so I'm limited on what I can flash. I also downloaded official firmware but had signature issues. Please help Lord Vader. I must destroy Jedi Scum

I know it's the wrong section but must answer. My S4 refused to connect. I tried x3 cheap-o-usb connect wires (even a HTC wire which I was told was high quality) and as a last result I used my Western Digital Portable Hard Drive cord which is notably much thicker and it connected.

Try uninstalling the Samsung drivers then reinstalling? If Odin doesn't recognize it, it seems to be a driver issue. Or try to connect your phone to a different PC.

I wanted to install the stock rom on my Sprint Galaxy s4. I installed mobile odin lite along with the proper kernel. I downloaded the stock rom from http://www.rwilco12.com/downloads.p...axy S4 (SPH-L720)/Stock ROMs/MK2/Original TAR It's in the form of tar.md5. I transferred that onto my phone. When I launch odin and click on that file I get the message Partition could not be found in file. What am I doing wrong?
The proper way to do it would be on a PC and use Odin rather than mobile Odin. Use version 3.xx to have good results.

Something is wrong with the cables I'm using or the computers since windows doesn't recognize the phone. I downloaded and installed the latest drives, but still can't get the phone recgonized. That's why I wanted to use mobile odin
I installed latest nightly on nexus 5 and HTC one. Neither seem to recognize my USB flash drive using otg cable. Both are stock omnirom no custom kernel.
Does omnirom officially support otg ? Or am I doing something wrong?
