Hey, anybody has tried an uhs-1 microsd? I know that works, but the thing is if it works at high speeds (70mb /20mb), like the uhs-1 standard allows it

using sd card tester on a Samsung pro UHS-1 microsd card I get 11MB/s write and 30MB/s read so not the full potential but still better than just a class 10 card.
Increase you SD RD/WR speeds

For increasing your read or write speed of your sd cards. You have to ROOT your device. Once you do that Tweak your SD Cache value. Your RD/WR speed will increase considerably.
FYI the sweet spot for my Class 6 SD card is 3072KB.
Good Luck
Yes, t if the phone has an uhs1 compatible slot, it would be much faster..

So, does i9500 it is or it is not compatible with uhs-1? I just bought a samsung sdxc uhs-1 and im getting only 15mb\s writing and 30mb\s reading speeds... Is it my card a cheap falsification or the s4 it selft that is not compatible with uhs-1?

Had posted a similar query to the Samsung support staff; their reply was that the S4 optimally supports Class 10 microSD card. No point in spending money for a I/O device which doesn't use its full potential.

Smartphones didn't catch up yet with the speeds of the new Sd cards. Perhaps future smartphone models will. Your card is fine.
The i9505 at least doesn't even come close to UHS-1 speeds with my Samsung 64gb uhs-1 microsd.

That's disappointing - I bought a 16GB UHS-1 card which does about 90MB/sec in my USB 3.0 reader... on the S4 I get 10-20MB/sec. Alright for storage, but not good for app data.

Exactly, at this time those high speeds can only be achieved with a dedicated card reader. AFAIK there is no smartphone yet to support UHS-1 high speed. Even so, comparing the Sd card speed test results from your phone with other cards on the market, you're good. Most important is in my opinion is to have a reliable, error free Sd card.
I am getting my GS4 on monday. I'm starting to buy accessories now and I wanted to know which Micro SD is perfect for S4? I'm looking for 64GB storage. Thank you!

Samsung 32gb class 10 here. It's the fastest sd card on the Earth and the 32 GB are just enough for me. Since I can't install apps on it, I never had more than 7 GB used.

I bought that one and a USB 3.0 microsdxc card reader that supports UHS-1 speeds. While, the s4 will supposedly work with their own card, you won't get the higher read/write speeds on the s4, but you will on your pc.
Sort of a pain to take the card out and stick it in the usb 3 card reader, but for 64gb and you're trying to transfer large video files - may be easier, I suppose
I am wanting to buy a 64gb memory card and have looked at san disk however I have had one which corrupted on my note 2 so am concerned.
Has anyone used the 646gb sandisk class 10 with the new s4 ??

Same here, I had 2 Sandisk SD cards 32GB and both of them got corrupted on MY S3, I don't know is was a bad production or not but the truth is that is very disappointing.
Some people say that rooting phones corrupts the SD card forever, Dunno is its true, Any way I think i will give it a shot on sandisk again for my new S4.
Peace :good:

Class number indicates how fast the read and write is. The larger the number the better.
SDHC is your standard micro sd card up to 32gb. While the SDXC can go up to 2 TB i think? Its format will also be exFat meaning it can read/store single file greater then 4gb. Not sure if SDXC exFat format is supported for S4? since S4 can read up to 64gb i assume it can read the 64gb class 10 SDXC cards. if not then you can convert it to FAT32 but it wont read a file which is greater than 4gb

Yes... unless that type is not supported by S4, i havent researched the S4 side yet. Currently im using a SDXC Class 10 64gb exFat format on my Nokia 808.
I think the packaging has the Green android robot guy with a label of Supports Android or something. I threw away my packaging but im using a Sandisk Ultra if that helps.
I cant vouch for S4 personally since i havent tried inserting it yet. Hope someone here has tried.
Thanks
Is there anyone that know for sure what is the best memory card for the s4 I9500?
I got a samsung 64gb pro class 10 sdxc. Works perfectly in my s4. Formatted the card within the phone and am able to transfer files larger than 4gb in it, so am assuming the phone formatted it to exfat.
Yea it's an option but I think I will take the 32gb, but for the 32gb I didn't find the xc model.
How is sdhc hc-1? Will it work or is there a better one that will work?

As of now i dont think you can move apps to the sd card. Only music, videos, images and other nonapp essential files can be stored in the sd card. Maybe after rooting?

From my understanding, the Galaxy S4 will only read up to 64gb. anything higher, phone won't read it. Also, some say to be careful with the Sandisk cards as they could be difficult to work with on the S4. I have a Samsung 32gb card and it works flawessly.

SDXC is SD Xtended Capacity). SDXC cards come in sizes of 32GB or higher higher,
While the class 2 , 4 , 6, 8, 10 gives diffnt speed while reading and writing on the card
other way higher the class faster the transfer speed and best for higher video resolution and data transfer
Hope this helps

SanDisk 16GB fastest microSD
95MB/s read - 90 MB/s write
SanDisk 64GB very fast microSD
80MB/s read - 50 MB/s write
SanDisk 128GB regular microSD
30MB/s read - less than 30 MB/s write
Samsung 64GB very fast microSD
70MB/s read - 20 MB/s write
These are advertised speeds, I don't know about reliability and actual speeds. Somehow I'm more inclined buying the Samsung one, somehow it makes me feel it's more compatible. Just my opinion.

There are numerous people on here, and on other forums, that also has had issues with the Samsung cards. SD cards are a hit and miss these days.
I personally went for the latest Samsung pro 64GB one that was released today on Amazon. Hoping it can last for a long time, but we'll see.
