Hi to all since me and other forum members can't post in the developer section I decided then to do a Q&A thread for one of the most used kernel, so we can also lighten the franco thread by questions not related to the development.
hope this can help me and other ppl :good:
first question: i love m3 but i noticed that simple governor for gpu slow down a bit 3d performance, it is possible to return to the stock one in some way??

You probably will need an alternative kernel tweaking app besides Franco's updater app like trickster mod app to change the GPU governor back to ondemand.

I've tried with trickster to check if simple governor was on, but found performance as running governor and only on-demand, but no simple. How I can check simple is running?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
trickster isn't updated yet to support simple gpu gov, u have to wait with trickster too.
but if you have m3 or test r666 you have simple gov active by default for sure!

It says performance because the developer hasn't updated the app to show the new GPU governor. Once the app is updated it will show the Simple GPU as the default governor. There's no need to check if it's running. It's already implemented in the kernel code. I do think there are apps to check GPU status.

Is there a way to access "Turn Logger off" and "Turn Events logging off" options of the franco.Kernel app directly from /sys?

welcome to the kernel world!! Thanks much...
Not knowing the goodies inside...
Can you add more IO schedulers as in speedy 6 from Eugene373? And as seen on this poll, the most used governors are: lulzactivev2, smartassv2, ondemand, performance. Would you be able to include the *scary* governor. I tested this governor with the SIO scheduler and battery saving were great! I had about 20 hours of use with 27% battery left with moderate-to-heavy usage of social apps (twitter-whatsapp) texting phone calls...with my screen being on for 3h 30m.
Thanks!

There ought to be a link to the source code in the OP to comply with GPL perhaps?
For kernel benchmarks and more, see here: http://goo.gl/mpeHI
This Kernel looks very promising
Somebody has some feedbacks on battery drain compared with the other existing kernels please? Maybe this can help us to compare cpu idle and deep idle
PS: I think that this thread should be moved to the dev section
Does anyone have any good settings to undervolt the KF? I'm currently running a custom kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1382999 that is OC'd at 1.2GHz and it eats up my battery like crazy. Thx in advance for the help.

From what I gathered he wants to be able to adjust the voltages for the clock speeds not just adjust the speeds. I can't see a way to do it with SetCPU.

I'm not sure that kernel has control over voltage. This likely set into u-boot.
But with undervoltage you'll lost stability and you may end with bricked device in case some overwrite bootloader.

So on my home screen I've used the app power toggles a little bit in my setup. Though recently, when redoing my home screen today I've noticed that the music controls have not been working. I did just update my phone to 4.3 so I'm not sure if that's the reason why. Anyone else have issues?

If you are using a third party launcher, it could be causing the issues.

Thing is though, prior I was using Power Toggles (and the music buttons) with Nova Launcher Prime previously and there wasn't issue.
Closest thing I've been able to find from Googling around is this: http://forums.androidcentral.com/google-nexus-4/300241-power-control-widget-bug-4-3-a.html
Seems like it's an issue with Nova possibly when you update to 4.3 and use power toggles. Not sure if that's the case but the only thing I've found so far.
I have seen some posts on other forums where Nova is causing issues with widgets in general.

I don't think so. The volume hack increases all volumes (ringer, alarm, notification, etc). DSP is good for music.
