Voodoo Sound for the i9500 - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I am looking to upgrade my Galaxy i9000, and looking for a phone with an equivalent DAC. Is it confirmed that the Galaxy S4 i9500 Octa core version ships with the Wolfson DAC?
If yes, has Supercurio said anything about starting development on this platform? I don't see anything on his tweets, was wondering if he has posted any news here.

Have been searching, but haven't come across any report of Voodoo sound for the i9500. Has Supercurio started development?

IMHO: no voodoo sound in perseus kernel..let me know.
For in ear sound ,one of the best is lidroid kerndel with omega 14.1.
Tks gio.

I understand that it is not yet available for even the S3? Has SC stopped the development of Voodoo sound?

Rom Ports to I9500

Hey guys, this is kind of a silly question knowing that the two devices (i9500 and i9505) have different processors and graphic cards but is it even possible to port the i9505 custom roms to the i9500?
Developer Question: How hard would it be if possible to port it and how hard would it be to make the rom compatible for both devices?
Thanks in Advance
Stay Cool:d
Dude ure in the wrong section. This belongs in Q&A sections.

has been asked too many damn times. To answer your question, been almost 3 months and there are no ports of CM yet on the octa variant. I didn't need to be a dev nor a rocket scientist to figure it out

Request for Perseus kernel for sm-n900 Note 3

I'm asking @AndreiLux to please add support to his Perseus kernel for the sm-n900 exynos note 3. He is looking for some sort of confirmation that the Note 3 community is interested and will support his work. If you don't know who @AndreiLux is or about his Perseus Kernel (first of all, who are you? ) here's link to his github and changelog for his kernel.

Below is my pm and his response.

I've been a bit disappointed in the non-US, non-European support towards my work on the Exynos S4. I correlate that the same will happen on the Exynos N3.
If there is enough public demand for it I might do a blind build with the primary features. Until now, I haven't seen really great demand.

Everyone please chime in if you're interested. Again this thread is for the Exynos chipset.
I had an N7100 before. Always using Perseus Kenel. Now i'm with an N900 (exynos). I really miss Perseus features. Would be really great.
we need u man.... already had posted in his thread of galaxy s4... he is jus one of a kind i guess.. please guys.. support him..:good:
We all need you man, miss you from my S3 times with your best calibration for an AMOLED screen of that times

Please build us a Kernel!!
We need synapse for our note 3. Have it on my s4 and cant live without it now.
Loved your work. Please do it for Note 3.
I'd want his kernel too.. the problem is, he doesen't want to buy the n3.. and.. i sad him we could create a pigghy bank to help him to buy it.. but.. he doesen't want a note, too big for him..
Well, i'm already pro over the pigghy bank, if he changes his idea, welcome!

From his reply, he's willing to do a blind build for us. He would just need proper feedback from the users.

Yo that's what i red.. the problem is.. without the device is difficult to create a kernel
My n7100 was great only because perseus kernel. I hope that n900 will get it soon (please include voltage control) also i used once option in deep sleep battery saver to manage cores and it permanently turned off 3 cores to next boot so hmp is possible
Was using perseus kernel on note 2, would be great to see it on note 3 sm-n900

Perseus kernel made my note 2 fly and I am desperately waiting for that magic on my note 3......

I am dying to flash perseus kernel on my note 3 cant wait was using it on note 2 and still it is on my note 2....
Same here, Used it on my Note 2, cant wait to get it on Note 3..
I too own a Galaxy Note III and would love to get it.
Though I am not sure what it exactly is(if someone could explain it that would be really fanstastic) but from what I have read about it, it looks like it would be something really cool to have which would increase the battery life and the overall experience of using the device.
Wish this fantastic kernel would come to the SD 800 version (SM-9005)

Possible to port Samsung Galaxy S4 lollipop to Nexus 4?

Hello All,
Samsung has started rolling out Lollipop on Galaxy S4. I would like to know if it is possible to port that ROM to Nexus 4?
Can someone point me to the guides to port Galaxy S4 ROM to Nexus 4?
Thank you!
Why would anyone want to do that?

I thought the same exact thing when I saw the title but it the spirit of xda, yes it could be ported but the s3 would probably be easier if there was one which there probably isn't.
All depends on how much effort you wanna put into it though
Fair play

Thanks a lot @sykopompos. I googled a lot but could not find any leads on to how to start on this. Do you have any links which could show me some light?
I just want to try that @copong. I've used kitkat touchwiz ROM on mako and it is good for a change

Google using xda at the end of your search string "how to port a rom xda" But be ready for a challenge, it's not so easy.

Truthfully all my porting skills are in my head and I never followed any links to do so.
The s4 has a 801 processor which would be a very good difference from what is in the n4 so matching up a touchwiz ROM init filed on kit Kat would be my starting place to see what the differences are from there.
Then from there it comes down to figuring out the differences in lib since most touchwiz changed are in the frameworks.
In the end, you would end up with more mako then s4 which is what you want

Thanks! I also compared S3, S4 and mako. And as you said S3 is much closer to mako. So I'll start searching while keeping S3 in mind :good:
I just sold my S5 as TW ram so damn horrible on LP, a phone of that spec ran slower than a Moto G, why would you want that crap anywhere near a nexus device?
