Hello all,
Forgive me if I'm posting this in the wrong section - my post count is too low to post is dev.
Regardless, I've been lurking for awhile and have found a custom ROM (Omega v7) that I'd like to run on my SGH-i377M (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2253528&page=480).
In researching, it's clear I can't just load the ROM and move on as the modem on my device are not compatible with the I9505. So I must run a custom Kernal.
The Kernal I am looking at is KT-GS4 (06/23) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2288309
My question is can this be loaded, via TWRP, directly over Omega on my SGH-i337M without any other mods?
Thanks.
Yes you can flash any 9505 rom just make sure the kernel you install after omega is for your specific model, it

It does.. Just wasn't sure if you were getting the custom icon on boot or if you just wanted it as a preventative measure

It works on Canadian S4.
I am surprised people are getting the triangle. i have flashed multiple different recoveries since i got my s4 and multiple roms. i have yet to see the triangle.
Hi guys,
I'm pulling my hair out at this point. 1 week, no cellular data, I've tried everything but uncovered I might need to install a nonhlos.bin file?
Can someone point me to the nonhlos.bin file I need for these stats:
TELUS S4
I337M
4.3
Baseband: I337MVLUEMK6
Kernel: 3.4.69-KT-SGS4-JG4.3-TW-INTL-11.14.2013--GC59DFA
Build Number: GoldenEye 14 XXUEMK9
Edit: Baseband says MK6, Build Number says MK9. Is this a problem?
Edit: $5 via Paypal to whomever can get me up and running
Here is a link to my pcloud with modem and nonhlos
Just extracted from telus 4.3 rom
Hope that helps

You'll need mobile odin if you want to flash them. There's one or two threads in the general subforum that describe the process.

Be sure to picl stock that same as baseband.

Then I re-rooted with chainfire su. Then I bought cwm from play to install custom recovery, then I flashed philz recovery from cwm recovery.

I know, it works, just used it again yesterday. Odin is very picky from I learned from using it. Different versions of Odin flash different things. This worked for me, in fact its the only thing that would work for me on my hardware.

Here is where to go after to return to stock, you need to used the odin version here or else stock f/w dont flash. Make sure you do not re-partition. Follow the guide perfectly and make sure your current bootloader is same version of stock fw your returning to. I didnt bother resetting flash counter with triangle away, just adds more brick risk. after that I re-rooted with chainfire su for canada, installed cwm recovery via playstore, upgraded to philz recovery. Next i installed infamous 10.1 R2 rom *make sure your phone is compatible with this rom. From there i followed tutorial to upgrade to mk6 modem from above. Finally i wiped factory resest via philz recovery and installed a kitkat build that require mk6 modem. All working great!!
see
http://www.androidrootz.com/2013/06/how-to-unroot-unbrick-galaxy-s4.html
My bootloader is MDJ so i returned to MDJ stock! I did not have knox and still do not. Be carful not to accidentally install knox know upon first boot with stock fw.
I believe if you have an MK6 bootloader then it means you have knox.
Another safer option is to restore via samsung tool but then you may loose some root functionality
Hi.
I was looking into the Safestrap method for Flashing a ROM on my ATT Galaxy S4 SGHI337. But my question is if that Safestrap method is only for the S4 active... If it is, is there any other method for safely flashing ROM to my MF3 basebamd version S4? PLEASE HELP
Have you even read the OP of ANY of the safestrap threads...and...do you even know which forum you are in?
Also, is your PC broke? Why is your font so large?
help
Figured it out. Thanks for the warm welcome.

Last time I checked, aosp Roms don't work with the i337 because of the locked boot loader. And last time I checked we don't have a root method (this could have very well changed, I was off for a month or two) for NB1 4.4. If you were to do a work around you may be able to get black box working but I'm not sure.

You can get BlackBox 3.0 to work.
Follow Deadly Venom KitKat Magic Tool (DVKMT) thread to partial downgrade to MK2. Root using saferoot. Follow DVKMT to install BlackBox3.0. More in All things AT&T MK2 and NB1
Note: With BB3.0, gmail and camera will FC. To solve this, uninstall them using titanium backup and install the latest from play store.
There are other ROMs that have AOSP options.
1. FoxHound v4.6.1
2. GoldenEye v29 with Domination v2.1 theme
3. ChaosRom v2.5.2
So I'm currently running my note 3 with hyperdrive rom in the stock slot and alliancerom in rom slot 1, due to not setting up alliance properly and wanting to move some things around i'd like to move hyperdrive to stock slot 1, install a base nc2 standard android onto stock slot (so its properly stock haha) and then install a slim rom on slot 2. my question is, can I just do a full backup of stock slot, and then restore it to slot 1, i mean its kind of like copy paste but obviously things aren't always that simple, so would this work? Or how could I move my ROM without completely re installing it. thanks guys!
First off I believe they say the rom slots don't work properly so I would suggest just finding the rom you want to use and install it on stock slot and leave the rom slots alone but if you want to use them I'm sure just making a backup of the roms then installing them where you want won't hurt.

I assume they work because I have a rom in rom slot 1 that works, granted I haven't used it for more than 10 hours or so combined but it works...
I could be wrong but I believe there are wake lock issues causing bad battery life.

Ah damn, oh well I guess its just easier to leave my daily driver in the stock slot, I want to install another rom to a rom slot, I'll honestly be using it like 1 hour per month or something so I dont care about battery life at all, would this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2768055 work on my phone which is running an NC2 rom right now, the rom says its nc4 but i'm not sure if there is a previous version.
Yes you can. There's a nc2/nc4 kernel out there somewhere but can't remember where. I'm at work right now but when I get a chance I'll look around.

Few questions here, so when I go to the biggins rom page it says that if you were coming from NC2 / MJE you would install a different md5 than the one you linked, also what would happen if i just tried to install the nc4 objective rom right now into one of my rom slots, worst case scenario it just wouldnt boot and i could go back to recovery and change back to one of my nc2 roms right?
I don't believe there's a big difference in nc2 and nc4. They are both able to be rooted so I would just upgrade to nc4 (be careful that it doesn't upgrade you to 4.4.4 after you upgrade to nc4) and be done with it.

Well I want to use my hyperdrive NC2 still as daily driver, but I want to try out the objective nc4, I just flashed objective onto rom slot 2 and it booted but it didnt work it seems, as though it still has all my data from the other rom, guess that doesnt work haha. And it crashed com.android.phone and the os after a while.
I just breezed through hyperdrive's thread and there's nothing in there that says anything about being on nc2 or nc4. Just that you need to be on 4.4.x kitkat.
