Is there anyway to do this without having to connect to a CPU or use a file a explorer? Is there an app that can share stuff between users because I'm sure that's something that would be useful for lots of people and I know if use it.

Rooted? If not, there's no shared storage space on the device that could do what you want (since each user only gets their virtual sdcard as their accessible storage). If you were rooted, you could create another virtual sdcard with global permissions, which ought to work (you could produce a symlink to it in each user's directory). Bit hacky though.
Yes I am rooted but I have no idea how to that lol

Make sure the widgets are on the devices internal storage not the SD card. Widgets on the SD Card wont show up

The ones I don't use are deleted and the rest are small enough I don't bother.
And AndroHero thanks for your sarcasm. I was simply stating a fact. I have never moved them, and as a result, I also wasn't aware they can't function on external sd.

Not all apps with widget are installed directly to the internal storage, if you move some of your SD apps to the internal storage, you may notice you have more widgets than you thought

Also make sure you are using sony ericsson home launcher... I'm using Go and some widgets don't appear unless I revert back to sony home

Im getting constant messages now saying I dont have enough space. I've moved everything I can to sd and cleared the cache. Programs like groupon are big but wont let me though, grrr.
Noticed email takes up a lot too, anyway of limiting what is stored?
Deinstall some apps...
Thats not a tip its common sense... What if u didn't want to get rid of the apps... *rolls eyes

Then root. It's not like you need a Computing PhD for that.
Sorry chris,
The only way to make apps that don't want to be on the SD play nice, is root. And, the only way to remove apps you don't use that are sitting in /system...is root.

Well actually no root required using adb you can set install location from 0 which is system auto to 2 which allows all downloaded apps to be moved to sd card

That's good for apps installed after that command. System apps and previously installed apps are untouched, and they're the largest issue.
Can u not save all emails to sd or limit how much is stored

Just root your phone. Whatever reason you have for not doing so yet is based on misinformation. Download superoneclick and go to it.

How much internal storage do you have left.

you can use box.com
I've purchased a fair number of applications I'd like to use on my N7 that are listed by the Play Store as incompatible, particularly Machinarium (which I'd really hoped to get into).
Of course a simple Google search of [application name] + apk + [rar/zip/mediafire/other obvious piracy related search terms] will likely get me what I want, but I'd really prefer not to go that route due to providence and, frankly, the fact that I paid for this, I'll figure out if it work or not.
Definitely have the SDK installed, definitely not very great at using it. Any help is well appreciated by my rain drenched weknd.
Are you rooted on your other Android device? You can use root explorer to pull the apks, then just dropbox/email them to the Nexus.
So... Download the app to a compatible device, go into the folder where they keep the app data, copy the apk go your sd card, and then email it or upload to dropbox.

Nice. I most definitely am. Cheers.

No problem! You should find most apks in the/data/app folder.
Some are hidden other places, so you may need to "search" the file name.

You don't even need to be rooted. You can backup apps with astro file manager and then find the apps in the backups folder and send them to dropbox or however else you wand to send them

I ran airdroid on the phone and accessed it via chrome on the tablet to get a load of apps. Worked well just ticked the ones I wanted and downloaded a zip file.

I have all different Android devices, but I keep one stock GB and ICS phone to download apps and send them to the others
Sorry, a noob here. I've saved the apps on my N7 unrooted 16GB to my computer using Nexus 7 Toolkit 4.0 I'd like to know if I'll be able to transfer the backup to another unrooted N7 ? TIA.
Of course you can.

Any apps you have installed/purchased will be available on the new N7 when you sign in to your Google account and Play store. Just install from Play.

but wouldn't it take me more time to get those apps installed on my new N7, compared to doing a restore from the backup file ?

What does point number one say on mirrorop website, and play store? You NEED ROOT. "1.Make sure your Android device is rooted, and is listed in the supported devices."
For album, music and video yes using throw, or screen mirroring for TV, or USB Connectivity.
Most of the information you will require is listed when you go into each area.
