Within the last week I have been on vacation in Minnesota and my Dad has a Kindle Fire HD...after seeing how horrible the Amazon Homescreen is and all that can be done to help improve the device I decided to write an application that would help users perform general tasks on the Kindle Fire HD after rooting it that would make their experience better.
I have yet to test this on anything but the Kindle Fire HD. I know this will not work on the original Kindle Fire, but 2nd generation on up may be able to use this as well but I have not tested it as I don't have one of these devices.
I made two version, a free and a pro version. The free version will allow you to install a custom launcher and the Android market. Beyond that I'm asking for ~1.00 for the pro version (Well I get $1.00 anyways after Googles cut) to help development and buy me some StarBucks
Tip: long press on items to remove them from your device.
Here are the links to both in the Android market:
Pro - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stericson.KindleFree_License
Free - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stericson.KindleFree (I just published this one so it may not be up yet...)
I've also attached the free one as well.
Please let me know what you guys think and if you want to see more added to this.
works perfectly

Thanks Stephen. Excellent work. Might I suggest a couple of things?
1. An undo option for launchers and the miscellaneous stuff.
2. Reminder that if installing an alternate launcher, kindle books will no longer work.
3. A warning against updating any of the Amazon apps in google play store.
Just some ideas.

Something, not sure what, broke the built in kindle book store. Movies and music work but the book store hangs. Any ideas?
Factory reset fixed it.

Stericson, I've already done all this and have no need for the app - but you hit it out of the park! You got a PayPal donate page?
Hey guys,
Sorry I was travelling yesterday back home.
So, I do have paypal Stericson.g1 AT Gmail (email)

-- Long press on an item to undo it
2. Reminder that if installing an alternate launcher, kindle books will no longer work.
-- I will add that, I wasn't aware that this happens, is this normal when replacing the launcher? Like does this happen if done manually?
3. A warning against updating any of the Amazon apps in google play store.
-- What should the warning say?

When you replace the launcher it breaks the kindle book app. You can install the play store version but you lose the built in book store. If you update the Kindle mobile app it breaks the Amazon store search. This is on the 8.9 BTW.

The Amazon Apps are designated for otter. Which I assume is the device codename. The play store versions don't cooperate with the fire framework.
Do not update amazon books, music, shop or it will mess up compatibility! my idea for update warning

aka if you accidentally update the apps you can go into system apps and reinstall them

Thanks for the comments guys, I made some updates and uploaded the new version.
I bought the paid version even though I didn't need it (pretty much have Google and Nova fully installed already), but I'm looking forward to more options.
Just a suggestion, but maybe you could add more Google apps to it, like Google+? The Play Store pretends that Google+ isn't compatible so it won't allow you to download it, but it side loads just fine. There's a lot of apps like that, unfortunately, so maybe a build prop edit shortcuts could also be added, like one to mimic a more universally accepted tablet and one to quickly return to Kindle Fire HD for stubborn apps. These would obviously be for the paid version.
Also for the paid version, maybe you could add the voice search framework and apps too.
There's a ton of potential for this app, thanks for putting it together!

Can anyone confirm this? My mum has a KF2 which I don't want to destroy but would love to have this.

Just google the googleplay.apk download it to the device and open it with a file manager,
for reasons most likely obvious..*cough*Cough*spooffreemiumoffers*.I would like to change my android ID..however...I heard that this can break several things including licenses and other play store related items..so I figure I could ask some questions before i make a ballsy move.
1. i'm using TB Pro on a Nexus 7. I already know how to CHANGE my ID to a random one but..Is there a way to backup my current ID or keep it?
2. in TB Pro I see "restore ID from backup" How do I backup my current ID or where is it on my tablet?
3. once I achieved what I wanted to achieve with switching ID's..can I switch back?...and how easy is this..will there be any repercussions?
4. "whatdo" with this app? - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vcastroi.changeid
Thanks
guess no one knows what to do or how to answer my question?
Make a backup in recovery. Your android id is saved into the backup you just made

Why change back? The only problem you will eventually run into is running out of licenses for play music, which can be solved by deauthorizing devices.

i've flashed tons of ROM and i haven't had a google music license issue...yet again I haven't PURPOSELY changed the ID either..
would this help me double my rewards when it comes to tapjoy?...I've been doing some research..if I clear or remove the tapjoy databases that show what offers i've done..it SHOULD let me do them again and keep my premium currency the same. I did this using my Rezound and my Nexus 7 and swapping TB backups to unlock all the WatchWhat Anime features.
The standard LED notifications are working fine. But thus far, I have now tried Light Manager and LEDBlinker Notifications and neither have worked *(and yes, I followed all required steps, like disabling TTS and activating LEDBlinker in the accessibility menu). Anybody else having a similar problem? If so, is this a Sprint GS4-wide issue, or something rom specific?
Also, any alternative suggestions? I want one that works with apps of my designation rather than just a stock list, since I now use Emu for text messages, and it isn't what you'd call widely supported.
Light flow lite works for me. I just tried it. Try that.

Unless I am missing something, it only supports a limited array of apps, not whichever ones I so designate (which is why I had not tried it out initially alongside the other two).. That said, it still seems to be working with Emu (I assume by way of the stock messaging app), so I am content enough with it. Thanks
Has anyone found or created a dark MMS/SMS for the S5. To clarify I am not looking for a replacement but only the stock messaging apped themed dark. Anyone please point me in the right direction if you know! Thank you so much!

yes looking for stock sms
Other than personal preference for the original application, I've been running 8sms on the ROMs on my retail edition without issue. It mirrors the AOSP MMS/SMS app perfectly without issue, I've had no issue sending or receiving different types of messages. Removing completely, or freezing the primary app and using that app causes no issues either. I understand it's not what you're looking for, but, works without headache and is all dark
Anyone in the uk got the sky+ App installed on the 6p and connected successfully with their box to view the planner etc.
My trusty nexus 4 and iPhone work but not the 6p.
Just sits on connecting for a very long time.

I think it's a marshmallow issue as the sky WiFi app won't let me add device either, says version if software not available or something ,sky go working though
I think you are right. I briefly had a nexus 5x and had the same issue with sky+ App.
I emailed sky App support but they weren't very helpful.

No surprise there ,I'm amazed sky go is working
Not working for me either. Now I have to get my arse out of bed, go downstairs and get the remote!
There's a thread on the sky website about it: http://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Apps-websites/Sky-App-Android-Marshmallow/td-p/2385839/page/2
